In this paper, we present an empirical investigation to measure the effects of privatization on some selected firms listed on Tehran Stock Exchange. The proposed study of this paper selects eleven relatively big sized Iranian firms whose structures were privatized prior year 2011. The main hypothesis of this survey studies whether there is a meaningful relationship between ownership structure and enterprise value of privatized firms. We collect the necessary information before and after privatization process completed and using a regression model examined the main hypothesis as well as five sub-hypotheses. The results of the survey indicate that the number of major shareholders has been reduced after privatization process accomplished, the number of shares had no impact on firms’ values. In addition, non-board members’ duty had not impact on firms’ value before and after privatization process, institutional investors did not play important role before and after privatization process, and separations played important role on firms’ value before and after privatization occurred.

One of the primary concerns on supply chain management is to handle risk components, properly. There are various reasons for having risk in supply chain such as natural disasters, unexpected incidents, etc. When a series of facilities are built and deployed, one or a number of them could probably fail at any time due to bad weather conditions, labor strikes, economic crises, sabotage or terrorist attacks and changes in ownership of the system. The objective of risk management is to reduce the effects of different domains to an acceptable level. To overcome the risk, we propose a reliable capacitated supply chain network design (RSCND) model by considering random disruptions risk in both distribution centers and suppliers. The proposed study of this paper considers three objective functions and the implementation is verified using some instance.

Most organizations benefit from ethical leadership and try to establish ethical rules and regulations in their working environment. This paper proposes an empirical investigation to learn the relationship between ethical leadership and organization learning. The proposed study designs a questionnaire based on Northouse model [Northouse, P. G. (2012). Leadership: Theory and practice. SAGE Publications, Incorporated.] and distributes it among all 108 managers in province of Charmahal-Bakhtiari located in west part of Iran and, using Pearson correlation, we examine different hypotheses. Cronbach alpha is equal to 0.86, which is well above the minimum desirable level of 0.70. The results of our study indicate that all five components of ethical leadership including respect, serve, justice, honesty and socialization have positive and meaningful relationship with organizational learning.

Knowledge management plays an essential role on achieving business success and it is considered as intangible attests for many organizations. In fact, many people believe intangible assets are the most influential part of any firm’s investment. This paper investigates the relationships among four variables including empowering leadership, task technology fit, compatibility and knowledge management system (KMS). The study considers whether there is any positive relationship between empowering leadership and task technology fit, between empowering leadership and compatibility, between task technology fit and KMS usage and between compatibility and KMS usage. The survey selects a sample of 215 people from the regular employees as well as university professors of Islamic research center of Qom province, Iran. We have distributed 220 questionnaires and collected 160 for the investigation. The results of this survey indicate that there is a meaningful and positive relationship between empowering leadership and compatibility (0.72, t-student=4.01), a meaningful and positive relationship between empowering leadership and compatibility (0.80, t-student=4.64), a positive and meaningful relationship between task technology fit and KMS usage (0.72, t-student=3.58) and finally there is a positive and meaningful relationship between compatibility and KMS usage (0.43, t-student=2.78).

Happiness plays essential role on building prosperity and success in any society. Happiness is one of the essential factors to reach prosperity and success in people’s life and jobs but happiness is not always the same as capability, but they may be correlated while capability is a necessary for having a happy life and happiness feeds back on capability in different ways. People who feel happy could better contribute to society and help other people build better future. This study performs a review on recently completed studies on factors, which influence happiness, new definitions of happiness. The study concentrates more on empirical investigations on the concept of happiness.

In this paper, we present an empirical investigation to measure the effects of intellectual capital using Maxwell model [Maxwell, J. C. (2003). Thinking for a change: 11 ways highly successful people approach life and work. Faith Words]. The proposed model of this survey designs a questionnaire in Likert scale and distributes it among 64 managers in an Iranian switch organization called ABFA. The main hypothesis of this survey studies whether the managers have beautiful mind in their work or not. There are 11 sub-hypotheses in this survey based on Maxwell model and the results of this survey conclude that “Sharing the ideas” index maintains the highest rate of importance and “being detailed oriented” maintains the lowest rate of importance.

During the past few years, there have been extensive developments on Islamic Azad University, which has led on reduction of managerial flexibility. Therefore, these organizations concentrate on their strategic management via usage of the Balanced Model such as Balanced Score Card (BSC) to consider different organizational perspectives and it is important to have good description of organizational strategies and goals. The strategy map is a primary factor to assess the performance in different organizational activities. In this paper, the performance evaluation system of Islamic Azad University of Semnan is designed by the utilization of strategy map as a prominent part of BSC.

Information asymmetry arises when one of the parties to the contract or transaction, possesses more information than the other, provided that the former uses such information effectively when communicating with the latter. The main objective of this study was to examine the effects of information asymmetry on the value of companies. Two techniques i.e. standard deviations of returns (STDRET) and turnover (TURNOVER) were used to determine information asymmetry while the Tobin’s Q was employed to determine companies’ value. The population under study was all the listed companies in Tehran Stock Exchange, of which a total of 72 companies were chosen as the research sample and were studied over the period 2004-2009. Panel analysis technique was used in this study to analyze the collected data. The results of the study indicate information asymmetry affect the value of the companies.

This paper studies the level of depression and mental ability among elderly people who live in institutional elderly versus nursing home residents. The investigation designs a questionnaire and distributes it among 345 elderly people who are residences of both places. The study implements Wechsler Memory Scale (WMS) test where mental ability includes seven factors including “general information”, “orientation”, “mind control”, “logical memory” and “repeated figures”, “visual memory” and “learn association”. The study performs some statistical tests and the results show that gender has no impact on two groups of elderly people in terms of mental utilization as well as depression level when the level of significance is five percent.
