The guidelines for content creators creating a competitive advantage over online media industry Pages 817-826 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: Jakkrin Kaopattanaskul, Sunee Wattanakomol, Thanin Silpcharu

DOI: 10.5267/j.dsl.2025.6.999

Keywords: Content creators, Competitive advantage, Online media industry, Cost effectiveness, Data-driven, Differentiated creation, Agile marketing

Abstract:
This study aimed to develop strategic guidelines for content creators to achieve a competitive advantage in the online media industry by constructing a structural equation model (SEM). A mixed-methods approach was used, combining qualitative interviews with nine industry experts, a focus group with eleven specialists, and a quantitative survey of 500 executives from industrial businesses. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, inferential tests, and multivariate techniques. The analysis identified four key strategic components: (1) cost effectiveness, (2) data-driven, (3) differentiated creation, and (4) agile marketing. Cost effectiveness emerged as the most critical factor. Hypothesis testing indicated that business duration significantly influenced the prioritization of these components (p < 0.05). The refined SEM demonstrated strong model fit, with CMIN–p = 0.062, CMIN/DF = 1.142, GFI = 0.955, and RMSEA = 0.0173. The findings confirm the model’s applicability in supporting strategic planning and enhancing competitiveness among online content creator businesses.

Abstract:
The study aims to identify the effect of environmental sustainability accounting (ESA) on competitive advantage (CA), and the effect of ESA on making decisions (funding, investment, and strategic) in Sudanese banking. A questionnaire was used to collect data from 135 accountants and managers of Sudanese banking. A descriptive method was used to confirm that the study's goals had been met. The questionnaire data is analyzed, and hypotheses are tested, using the Smart pls application. The study found a positive relationship between ESA and CA in the Sudanese banking sector. Additionally, ESA has a positive relationship with funding, investment, and strategic decisions in the Sudanese banking sector. Based on these findings, future research can help accountants comprehend the intricacies of ESA according to national and cultural conditions, especially in developing countries. Also, larger sample sizes may be used in future research on this topic, particularly if it is studied internationally.

Keywords: Resource Based Theory, Financial performance, Intellectual capital, Competitive advantage, Eviews

Abstract:
Financial performance is an evaluation of a company's assets, liabilities, equity, expenses, revenues, and profitability. This evaluation provides an overview of the company's overall financial health during a certain period. Resource Based Theory states several factors that can affect financial performance, namely intellectual capital and competitive advantage. This research was conducted with a quantitative approach. The observed population of this research is all BPRs in Bali Province which are still operating in 2017 - 2021. Determination of the sample in this study using the census method or saturated sample so that the sample used in this study was 133 BPRs in Bali Province. The analysis technique used in this research is path analysis with Eviews version 9.0 software. The test results show that intellectual capital has no effect on financial performance, intellectual capital has a positive effect on competitive advantage, competitive advantage has a positive effect on financial performance and competitive advantage is able to mediate the effect of intellectual capital on financial performance. The results of this study are expected to contribute to various interested parties, namely the development of Resource Based Theory as a theoretical benefit and BPR management, government, OJK, society and the banking industry as practical beneficiaries.

Assessing the influence of transformational leadership on competitive advantage through important innovations and quality results: Case of railway industry Pages 41-50 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: Tryson Yangailo

DOI: 10.5267/j.msl.2022.9.003

Keywords: Transformational leadership, Quality results, Important innovations, Competitive advantage, Mediation

Abstract:
The importance of quality and innovation in today’ 21 st century cannot be over emphasised, therefore organisations require leadership styles that can embrace both innovation and quality in order to confront today’s dynamic competitive fierce environment. Sometimes organisations fail to attain or maintain their competitiveness because of limited understanding regarding these strategic variables. There is little research that has attempted to analyse the direct and indirect-relationships among these strategic variables. Therefore this study attempted to bridge the gap in literature by analysing how important-innovations and quality-results as TQM practices influence the association between transformational leadership-style and competitive advantage using sample data collected from TAZARA employees in management using Jamovi. The study shows that transformational leadership style, quality-results and important innovations have significant positive effects on competitive advantage. The results also show that important-innovations and quality-results both individually and collectively partially mediate the relationship between transformational-leadership and competitive- advantage. Managers and advocates of transformational leadership style are emphasised to be aware and cautious of quality results and important innovations at all-time especially in today’s dynamic environment.

DOI: 10.5267/j.uscm.2024.7.014

Keywords: Supply chain management, Competitive advantage, Management operations, Strategic management, Micro, small, and medium enterprises

Abstract:
The adoption of supply chain management (SCM) is pivotal in boosting organizational competitiveness and performance. This study examines the relationships among SCM, firm value, company performance, and competitive advantage within the context of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia. Employing a quantitative approach, we analyzed data collected from a sample of 100 MSMEs using SmartPLS to test various hypotheses. The findings indicate that effective SCM significantly influences a firm’s value, performance, and competitive advantage. This study supports the mediating role of firm value by showcasing its robust influence on the relationship between SCM and competitive advantage. However, the mediating role of company performance on competitive advantage appears weaker. The discussion integrates relevant literature, highlighting the pivotal role of SCM strategies in enhancing productivity, fulfilling customer desires, and increasing competitiveness. This study also underscores the critical link between financial performance, value creation, and competitive advantage. Overall, this study contributes to the ongoing development of practical SCM knowledge by providing valuable insights for MSMEs seeking to navigate the challenges of an evolving business landscape.

Keywords: Total quality management, Entrepreneurial orientation, Organizational innovation, Competitive advantage, Organizational performance, SmartPLS 4, Large Saudi industrial companies

Abstract:
The study aimed to know the positive impact of TQM, EO, and OI on OP, in addition to the indirect impact of TQM, EO, and OI on OP when using CA as an intermediary variable. The study sample consisted of all (307) employees in senior and middle departments working in total quality. Random sampling was the sampling technique strategy used in this study. For the measurements in this investigation, a closed questionnaire from previous research was used. The primary data analysis technique in this study was to evaluate the measurement model and structural model using SmartPLS (4.01). The discriminant and convergent validity of the measurement model was assessed. The results of the study show that in addition to having a direct and positive effect on OP, TQM, EO and OI also have an indirect and positive effect on OP when CA is used as a mediating variable. According to the study, OI, TQM, and EO should receive equal attention from major local industrial enterprises operating in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. As one of the most important management strategies for advancing management thought, large local Saudi industrial companies should also implement and ensure the success of a management program. Comprehensive quality and pioneering orientation. These strategies have been proven to be successful in helping organizations solve problems related to productivity or service quality.
