🔑 Keywords: Relative Advantage, Compatibility, Complexity, Trialability, Observability, Perceived Risk, Adoption Intention

Abstract:
This study examines the adoption intention of the Long-Term Care (LTC) regulatory system in Guangxi, China, emphasizing the influence of innovation attributes and perceived risk. It analyzes how relative advantage, compatibility, complexity, trialability, and observability positively affect healthcare providers' and elderly care institutions' willingness to adopt the system. The study further explores the moderating role of perceived risk in strengthening the relationship between these innovation attributes and adoption intention. Data were collected through a survey of 370 professionals from hospitals, rural health centers, and elderly care institutions and analyzed using SPSS and structural equation modeling (SEM). Results indicate that all five innovation attributes significantly enhance adoption intention, with perceived risk amplifying these effects. The findings underscore the need for supportive policies, technological advancement, and coordinated stakeholder engagement to ensure successful LTC system implementation. This research provides actionable insights for policymakers and industry leaders to support the expansion of LTC insurance systems amid China’s aging population.

Abstract:
The industrialisation and urbanisation have made goods affordable and quickly to obtain. These create hyper-consumption where we use to buy more than what we need, and so fast discard the things that we buy. Access-based consumption is a trend that gains more popularity in today’s society, in which consumer can have access to new and various items without having to own them. One of the access-based consumption is renting, and this concept has been applied in many sectors such as fashion, property and recently it has been applied in items for children since more Millennials are living in limited space and they need to choose which product to own. The study aims to investigate the relationship between perceived risk, frugal shopping, perceived enjoyment and attitude toward renting items for children. The online questionnaire was administered to 100 participants. The results show that psychological risk affects attitude negatively, perceived enjoyment influences on attitude positively, and frugal shopping has some impact on perceived enjoyment and attitude positively. Marketing strategies are suggested for renting business owners by embracing the enjoyment feeling from renting. It is important to promote the benefit of getting new items regularly without having to buy them more often and the benefit of playing and using items beyond their usual shopping budget.

Determining intention to buy air e-tickets in Malaysia Pages 933-944 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: Kwee-Fah Lee, Ahasanul Haque, Suharni Maulan, Kalthom Abdullah

doi 10.5267/j.msl.2019.2.009 Crossmark

🔑 Keywords: Perceived risk, Airline, E-tickets, Intention, Online banking

Abstract:
Struggling airlines can save cost and improve profits by selling tickets online. While global sales of air e-tickets have grown over time, they are mostly from advanced nations. In developing markets like Malaysia, e-ticket sales are substantially lower. Hence, this study sets out to examine the factors that determine consumers’ intentions to buy air e-tickets. The factors include the disadvantage and advantage of buying air e-tickets, represented by perceived risk and perceived usefulness, respec-tively. The results show that Malaysian consumers’ perceptions of risk outweigh the perceived use-fulness of e-ticketing, and negatively affect intentions to buy air e-tickets. Perceived risk also has a negative effect on perceived usefulness, making usefulness insignificant to buying intention online. These findings imply that for Malaysian consumers, perceived risk far outweighs perceived usefulness where intention to buy air e-tickets is concerned.

Enhancing dine-out decisions: The role of precautionary measures and digital marketing in mitigating perceived risk at small eateries in Bali's tourist hubs Pages 967-980 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: I Nyoman Sutapa, Alexander Duncan Rachmad, Zeplin Jiwa Husada Tarigan, Magdalena Wullu

doi 10.5267/j.ijdns.2024.10.009 Crossmark

🔑 Keywords: Digital marketing, Intention to dine out, Perceived risk, Precautionary measures

Abstract:
Perceived risk is important in home-based restaurant businesses in tourist areas, especially in influencing tourists' views of risk when deciding to eat at a home-based restaurant. This perception of physical and psychological risks can influence tourists' intentions to dine out. This research aims to measure the magnitude of the influence of perceived risk on tourists' intention to dine out, as well as the role of precautionary measures and digital marketing strategies as moderating variables. Data was collected from 143 respondents who were consumers of home restaurants in several tourist areas in Bali, Indonesia. Data analysis used SmartPLS version 4.0 to test the relationship between research variables. The results show that perceived physical risk does not significantly impact tourists' intention to dine out. In contrast, perceived psychological risk has a strong negative influence on the perceived psychological risk the more likely tourists will dine on site. Health prevention measures implemented by restaurants (precautionary measures) and digital marketing strategies directly affect tourists' intention to dine out. Interesting digital content on social media related to food and beverage products has also been proven to increase this intention. However, precautionary measures and digital marketing as moderating variables do not significantly strengthen the relationship between perceived risk and intention to dine out. This research provides insight for home restaurant business owners to pay attention to consumer risk perceptions and utilize digital marketing strategies effectively. Creating interactive and informative content on social media is very important to increase tourist intent. This research also enriches the literature on consumer behavior and service science in tourism.

The influence of social commerce information sharing on purchase intention and perceived risk: the mediating role of customer relationship quality and the moderating role of online reviews in the Turkish market Pages 11-26 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: Afra Larfi, Sabri Öz, Muhannad Alboji, Turgut Gökçek, Gaye Gülsima Güzel

doi 10.5267/j.ijdns.2024.11.004 Crossmark

🔑 Keywords: Social media commerce, Social media marketing, Customer relationship quality, Perceived risk, Purchase intention, Social media science

Abstract:
Social commerce is an effective instrument for enterprises aiming to expand their customer base and enhance revenues. By mastering the implementation of social media platforms (SMPs) and surmounting the accompanying hurdles, brands may achieve significant achievements in social commerce. The article investigates the impact of social commerce information sharing (SCIN) on purchase intention and perceived risk in Turkey. This examines the influence of SCIN on customer relationship quality (CRQ) dimensions, including brand trust, commitment, and satisfaction. The study precisely intends to investigate the mediating of CRQ dimensions in the relationship between SCIN and purchase intention. The study also examines the mediator role of perceived risk in the relationship between SCIN and purchase intention. Also, the study examines how online reviews moderate the relationship between SCIN and customer outcomes such as purchase intention and perceived risk. The current study employs a sample of 314 participants from Turkey to explore the relationship between SCIN, brand trust, commitment, satisfaction, purchase intention, and perceived risk. The proposed conceptual model is tested using the Structural Equation Modeling-AMOS statistical approach. The results show that SCIN strongly predicts perceived risk, purchase intention, and CRQ dimensions, such as brand trust, commitment, and satisfaction. Furthermore, the study reveals that perceived risk does not directly mediate the relationship between SCIN and purchase intention. Instead, it confirms that purchase intention is a significant consequence of CRQ dimensions and perceived risk. The results also indicate that online reviews do not moderate the relationship between SCIN and customer outcomes, such as perceived risk and purchase intention. In summary, this study underscores the pivotal role of SCIN in influencing the decision-making process of Turkish customers, particularly in the context of making purchases. The findings carry significant practical implications for marketers of SMPs aiming to influence Turkish consumers, providing valuable insights to enhance their strategy in the Turkish market.
