🔑 Keywords: Artificial Intelligence, TAM–TPB, Technology Adoption, Agricultural Sector, Behavioral intentions

Abstract:
This study aims to develop and test an integrative model of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) to explain farmers' intentions to adopt artificial intelligence (AI) in the agricultural sector. The model positions Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU) as an initial determinant influencing Perceived Usefulness (PU), Attitude Toward AI (ATT), and Behavioral Intention to Use AI (BI), both directly and through mediating mechanisms. The study employed a quantitative explanatory design with a cross-sectional survey approach. Data were collected from 203 respondents, consisting of farmers and MSMEs and small-to-medium-scale agricultural businesses in the Greater Bandung area, from January to March 2024. The research instrument was an online questionnaire with a five-point Likert scale, and data analysis was conducted using covariance-based Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results showed that PEOU had a positive and significant effect on PU and ATT. Furthermore, PU, ATT, Perceived Behavioral Control, and Perceived Social Norms were shown to increase the intention to use AI in agricultural activities. Mediation tests confirmed that PU and ATT act as partial mediators in the relationship between ease of use and AI adoption intention. These findings emphasize that AI adoption in the agricultural sector is a gradual process that simultaneously involves cognitive, affective, and social factors. Theoretically, this study strengthens the relevance of TAM–TPB integration in the context of modern agriculture, while practically providing a basis for formulating strategies to accelerate sustainable digital transformation in agriculture.

doi 10.5267/j.jpm.2025.11.005

🔑 Keywords: Supply chain management, Innovation strategy, Operational performance, Competitive advantage, SMEs

Abstract:
This study examines the impact of supply chain management (SCM) practices and innovation strategies on competitive advantage through operational performance in West Java. Using a quantitative approach, the study surveyed 150 SME managers/owners via Google Forms, analyzing the data with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) and AMOS 20 software. The results reveal that SCM practices positively influence operational performance and competitive advantage, while innovation strategies also enhance operational performance and competitive advantage. Furthermore, the study finds that although SCM practices and innovation strategies improve competitive advantage, operational performance does not mediate the relationship between these factors and competitive advantage. The implications of these findings suggest that SMEs should focus on enhancing SCM practices and fostering innovation strategies to improve competitive advantage directly. Although operational performance is important, it does not play a central mediating role in boosting competitive advantage. Therefore, businesses should prioritize optimizing SCM and innovation independently for more effective outcomes, without relying on operational performance as an intermediary. This insight can guide policy development and strategic planning for SMEs in West Java, fostering more efficient operations and stronger market positioning.

A system dynamics approach for analyzing supply chain industry: Evidence from rice industry Pages 217-226 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: Maun Jamaludin, Teddy Hikmat Fauzi, Deden Novan Setiawan Nugraha

doi 10.5267/j.uscm.2020.7.007

🔑 Keywords: Supply chain, Rice Industry, System Dynamics, Policy Strategy

Abstract:
The rice industry policy must be comprehensive with a scope of policy from upstream to downstream. In other words, it must cover all supply chains of the rice industry consisting of five levels, such as, the level of farmers who process rice, grain traders, rice traders, rice traders in production areas and rice traders in urban markets. The purposes of this research are (1) to identify and model the current supply chain system of the rice industry; (2) analyze the simulation of the rice industry supply chain system policy; and (3) recommend rice industry policies which provide incentives for all rice industry supply chain actors. The research method used is the case study method. The aim is to understand a phenomenon in the rice industry supply chain system in depth in West Java Province – Indonesia. The results show that the rice industry supply chain system model is a closed cycle consisting of material flow feedback in the form of grain, rice, money and information flow in the form of demand that occurs in the interaction of actors from farmers, grain traders, rice milling units (RMU), rice traders in production centers to rice traders in urban wholesale markets in Bandung and Jakarta. Every businessman in the rice industry has the same goal, which is to maximize the profits. Thus, it can potentially lead to a conflict of interest which is manifested in the desire of every businessman to sell as much as they produce at the highest possible price but this will not happen because of the limited resources they have, such as capital and the market demand they receive. The strategy of increasing production is often carried out by the government at this time which it cannot be done partially without considering other rice industry supply chain instruments. The impacts of this partial policies are farmers, collectors, rice traders and rice mills gain unstable profits and the benefits received are lower than before the production strategy and policy were implemented. The recommended policy strategy is the rice industry supply chain system should be able to guarantee the availability of sufficient rice and capable of guaranting the welfare of farmers with a policy that integrates rice farming and agro-industry production strategies, financing strategies and accessible to all levels of actors in the rice industry supply chain, human resource development strategies and rice business risk management strategies, simultaneously. The integrated policy strategy needs to be carried out since rice supply chain management is a coordinating system of material flow in the form of grain, rice, money, facilities and information flow in the form of orders or requests, knowledge and innovation.

Knowledge sharing, perceived risk and environmental information on energy saving behaviors of hotel guests Pages 1781-1788 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: Rohyan Sosiadi, Bambang Heru, Maun Jamaludin

doi 10.5267/j.ijdns.2023.7.014

🔑 Keywords: Knowledge sharing, Perceived Risk, Environmental information, Energy Efficiency, Hospitality Industry

Abstract:
Energy efficiency is one of the critical aspects, because the hotel sector has significant energy consumption and has an impact on environmental information. Energy efficiency helps reduce operational costs. By reducing excessive energy consumption, hotels can set a good example of responsible and sustainable business practices. It is important to understand the factors that affect energy efficiency. Some of the relevant factors are knowledge sharing, risk perception, and environmental information. This study aims to analyze the effect of knowledge sharing, risk perception, and environmental information factors on energy efficiency in the hospitality industry. The research method used in this study is a quantitative method with a survey approach. The number of samples used in this study were 176 hotel managers in Indonesia. Questionnaires were distributed to respondents using a Likert scale of 1 to 7. Data were analyzed using the Partial Least Square (PLS) method using SmartPLS software. The research results conclude that knowledge sharing, perceived risk, and environmental information have a significant influence on energy efficiency in the hospitality industry. Well-informed consumers tend to be more aware of the impact of their decisions and actions on environmental information, so they are more likely to choose hotels that adopt sustainable and energy efficient practices. In addition, the perception of risk also affects energy efficiency in the hospitality industry. Consumers who perceive risks associated with low sustainability or negative environmental information impacts are less likely to choose the hotel. Environmental information factors also play an important role in energy efficiency. Hotels that have an environment that supports and facilitates sustainable practices have the potential to achieve higher energy efficiency.
