A review on Schiff base as colorimetric and fluorescence sensors for d-metal ions Pages 739-758 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: V. Inbaraj, Duraisamy Udhayakumari

DOI: 10.5267/j.ccl.2023.5.001

Keywords: Schiff base, Fluorescent probe, d-metals, PET, ICT

Abstract:
Most of the d-metals are familiar with their distinctive properties and their applications have been extended in vast industry fields. Though they are doing outstanding work in industries and help to boost the economy of dependence. The excess uptake of d-metals explores significant health issues, and detrimental effects on the environment, and corrodes the biological species. Fluorescent probes based on Schiff base chemical compounds give more accuracy, and low-level detection for metal ions in water, chemicals, and in biological cells through commendable and quick fluorescence signals. So, it empowers the successful detection of d-metals in terms of dissimilar fluorescence responses by probes in light of metals. Based on the recent research in the field of Schiff base-based fluorescent probes and interpretation on effects for binding like ON-OFF PET, ICT, CHEF, and CHEQ this imperative review is framed.

The Impact of Information and Communication Technology on Commercial Banks’ Performance: Evidence from MENA Pages 1997-2004 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: Ahmad A. Al-Naimi, Ahid Yaseen, Mohammad Ahmad Alnaimat, Shafiq Al Abed, Umar Farooq

DOI: 10.5267/j.uscm.2024.2.006

Keywords: ICT, Finance, Performance, Profitability, Banking, MENA

Abstract:
The importance of information in achieving different organizational goals cannot be overstated since it ensures the rapid distribution of resources required to achieve desirable goals. The banking industry’s environment is incredibly dynamic and undergoes quick changes because of creativity, innovation, technological advancements, altered perceptions, and customer expectations. The center of the change curve is information and communication technology (ICT). Business organizations, particularly those in the banking sector, operate in a complex and competitive environment defined by shifting conditions and a volatile economic climate. Data for 20 MENA countries has been collected from the World Bank database between 1997 and 2021. Two-step System (Generalized Method of Moments) GMM were used to evaluate the influence of intrinsic features of individuals in a panel data set and avoid bias caused by omitted variables. The impact of the relationship between banks' performance and their use of ICT was evaluated in this study. The data analysis revealed that the impact of ICT on bank performance in MENA is positive. This suggests that a little shift in the banking industry's investment and adoption of ICT will result in a corresponding rise in profit levels.

Abstract:
This research aims to identify the Mediating role of ICT on the Impact of supply chain management (SCM) on organizational performance (OP), a field study: of pharmaceutical companies in Jordan. To achieve the aim of the research, the researcher used the descriptive analytical approach. The research population is all the employees in the three pharmaceutical companies listed on the Amman Stock Exchange (1,528), A suitable sample content of (400) employees was chosen, questionnaires were distributed using Google Forms, and the percentage of correct questionnaires was (85%), The research concluded that SCM with its dimensions has an impact on OP in pharmaceutical companies in Jordan, CRM does not exhibit a notable impact on the dependent variable OP and this research provides robust support for ICT mediating the relationship between SCM and OP in pharmaceutical companies in Jordan. The research recommended pharmaceutical companies to explore strategies to enhance their customer relationships and it also recommends pharmaceutical companies to invest in and enhance ICT infrastructure and capabilities, this research also recommends future studies to examine the role of artificial intelligence (AI) instead of (ICT) mediator between (SCM) and (OP).

DOI: 10.5267/j.ijdns.2021.5.006

Keywords: Hospitality, ICT, Determinants, e-services, Kosovo, Kosovo outbound tourists

Abstract:
The aim of this research is to identify the main determinants of Kosovo outbound tourists influencing the use of e-services in the hospitality industry. To test hypotheses, we used Partial Least Squares Path Modeling (PLS-PM). Findings suggest that the intention of Kosovo outbound tourists to use e-services in the hospitality industry is influenced positively by performance expectancy, facilitating conditions, perceived value, and satisfaction with information quality. We found that expected effort and social influence have no impact on the intention to use e-services. The relationship between users’ behavioral intentions and satisfaction with the information provided and real use behavior is confirmed. The perceived value depends on cost-savings, enjoyment and convenience from the use of e-services in hospitality.

Authors: Michael Dzigbordi Dzandu, Henry Boateng, Cynthia Esinu Dzandu

Keywords: Brand choice, Ghana, ICT, Mobile phones, Quality, Students, University

Abstract:
As there is still only limited research on students brand choice of mobile phones, the focus of this study was to ascertain drivers of tertiary students’ mobile phone brand choice in Ghana. Using a structured questionnaire, data was collected from a random sample of 840 students from three tertiary institutions in Ghana. The study revealed that the most significant determinant of the students brand choice of mobile phones was perceived quality (p & LT; 0.05). Although price, prestige, and promotion also influenced their choice of mobile phone these were not significant at the 0.05 level. The study further revealed that availability and mobile phones as gift items also influenced the brand of phone used by the students (p & GT; 0.05). The study concludes that in spite of their economic handicaps, students brand choice was driven most by perceived quality and not price. Recommendations on how information technology manufacturers’ particularly mobile phone companies and marketers can exploit these drivers to sustain and improve their brand equity among students have been made.
