Data was collected directly through structured interviews guided by questionnaires. The research population was 534 registered "craft" creative industry companies including pearls, "Sasak" ikat weaving, and pottery in West Nusa Tenggara Province, Indonesia with the analysis unit being managers or assistant managers. The sampling method used stratified proportional random sampling with a sample size of 240 respondents. Data analysis in this study used descriptive statistics and Covariance-based SEM (Amos software). The findings prove that the eleven hypotheses which stated that there was a direct influence of the variables studied were all confirmed. Strategic flexibility and a culture of innovation play a role in increasing company innovation. Strategic flexibility plays a role in increasing the collaborative competitiveness of marketing tourism. Agility, ambidexterity, and open innovation play a role in increasing sustainable competitive advantage. Supply chain ambidexterity and performance under uncertainty: The case of inter-island logistics in Indonesia Pages 759-770 PDF Download PDF

Authors: Firdaus Alamsjah, Muhammad Asrol

doi 10.5267/j.uscm.2022.4.006

๐Ÿ”‘ Keywords: Agile, Ambidexterity, Lean, Supply chain performance, Inter-Island, Uncertainty

Abstract:
This study investigated the impact of supply chain ambidexterity on supply chain performance (SCP) under uncertainties. The dynamic capability theory of firms was adopted in the supply chain to design a research framework that recommends a supply chain strategy under uncertainties pertaining to inter-island logistics in Indonesia. This study involved the survey of 140 large-scale companies delivering products across the Indonesian islands to identify the supply chain uncertainties by analyzing data using SmartPLS. The supply chain ambidexterity (SAM) was identified to exhibit no direct correlation with SCP; however, agile supply chain (ASC) and lean supply chain (LSC) could indirectly relate the SAM and SCP. For supply chain professionals, the results indicated that SCP cannot be achieved solely through SAM, thereby necessitating the development of LSCs and/or ASCs, driven from SAM, to achieve SCP. Thus, this study empirically confirmed ASC and LSC to be effective practices for mitigating supply chain uncertainties by mediating supply chain ambidexterity on SCP.

Ambidextrous social media experience in fostering innovative behavior among white-color workers Pages 389-406 PDF Download PDF

Authors: Maria Grace Herlina, Karto Iskandar

doi 10.5267/j.ijdns.2020.x.002

๐Ÿ”‘ Keywords: Ambidexterity, Social media, Social learning, Innovative behavior, White-collar worker

Abstract:
Social media serves as a platform or a new area for developing innovation responsive to business advancement. As individuals are the source of knowledge in organizations, individual learning is the focus of organizational learning and development. Ambidexterity is an activity that requires individual learning. The study was carried out in Greater Jakarta, Indonesia. A personal survey questionnaire with convenience sampling was used to collect white-collar workers in Greater Jakarta. Rasch Model Analysis, specifically Person Measure Analysis, was used to filter for bias in the responses because the data was collected through personal references or self-report questionnaires. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) is used to test hypotheses based on the collected data. According to the statistical results, ambidexterity and social media learning experience significantly impact innovative behavior. It implies that ambidexterity and social media learning experience can improve white-collar workers' innovative behavior. Ambidexterity has a significant impact on the learning experience on social media. It implies that a person with greater ambidexterity will engage in more intense knowledge exploration and exploitation through social media. The study's findings also show that social media experience without ambidexterity has the least impact on innovative behavior. It implies that social media experience without exploratory and exploitative activities does not lead to innovative behavior.
