Authors: Miluska Villar-Guevara, Israel Fernández-Mallma, José Hector Livia-Segovia

DOI: 10.5267/j.dsl.2025.9.005

Keywords: Servant leadership, Education, Bibliometric, Sustainability, Education for sustainable development, Sustainable Development Goal 4, SDG 4, Quality education

Abstract:
Servant leadership is a leadership approach that focuses fundamentally on service to others. In educational contexts, servant leadership has become an attractive topic for research. The main objective of this research was to analyze the last 11 years of scientific production from the Scopus database on servant leadership in educational settings (2013-2023). 48 publications analyzed using bibliometric indicators were taken as a data source. The analysis includes visualization, bibliographic coupling, co-occurrence, and co-authorship analysis. The results of the study show that collaborative research networks between countries around the world were examined, with the United States emerging as the dominant contributor, followed by Indonesia, India, China, and Peru, with the period 2020 and 2022 being those with the highest scientific production, also validating that K. Dahleez, KF Latif, and F. Marimon were the most influential contributors in scientific production and citations; however, A. Abbas has made a greater contribution to Sustainable Development Goal 4, Quality education. The major legacy has focused on two main thematic areas, the Social Sciences and Business, Management and Accounting. The analysis of the main keywords revealed a deep research interest, highlighting the extension and diversity of the concepts of servant leadership, higher education, education, teachers, knowledge hiding, learning, leadership and life satisfaction. This study highlights the importance of international cooperation in the field of cultural research and the need for countries to develop research capital to address knowledge gaps. These findings reveal research trends for future studies, influential authors, and co-authorships across countries, helping researchers identify gaps and future directions. The findings may facilitate the development and use of servant leadership in educational settings to improve outcomes as a sector.

DOI: 10.5267/j.msl.2020.12.022

Keywords: Servant Leadership, Trust, Knowledge Sharing, Job Performance

Abstract:
This study analyzes the effect of servant leadership on job performance with, trust and knowledge sharing as mediating variables. The research is classified in the quantitative analysis used to test the significance between latent variables. The study sample includes 164 of the STIE Malangkucecwara postgraduate program alumni from 2010 to 2019. Data are collected through an online questionnaire and the SmartPls processes the results. The results show that job performance was directly affected by servant leadership. Trust and knowledge sharing are proven as variables that mediate the influence between servant leadership and job performance with the nature of full mediation. Serving leadership tends to increase employee trust in leaders and organizations and stimulates a culture of sharing knowledge to increase employee job performance. The results can be a basis for further studies in the field of management, especially those related to servant leadership, and as material for practical understanding for leaders in various areas of the organization.

DOI: 10.5267/j.msl.2020.10.003

Keywords: Lecturers’ performance, Servant leadership, Business continuity management, Technology acceptance model

Abstract:
This research investigates the effect of business continuity management and technology acceptance models towards performance of lecturers moderated by servant leadership. The research respondents were 86 Halmahera University lecturers. The research method used was quantitative method by examining the effect of moderation and the direct effect by the method of interaction. The model was tested with structural equation modeling approach by using Smart PLS software. The results proved that servant leadership was able to influence lecturer performance. Servant leadership could also moderate the effect of business continuity management towards lecturer performance. However, business continuity management and technology acceptance models did not affect lecturer performance independently. Servant leadership also failed to moderate the effect of the technology acceptance model towards lecturer performance. This study recommends that servant leadership be applied at all levels of leadership because of the very important role in triggering lecturer performance. The application of servant leadership can also be combined with business continuity management since the interaction between of the two can improve lecturer performance.

DOI: 10.5267/j.msl.2020.1.002

Keywords: Servant leadership, Public service motivation, Employees’ performance, Customs department, Public human resource management

Abstract:
Previous studies have established that leadership has a decisive role in shaping organizational outcomes in general and performance in particular. However, few efforts have gone into ex-plaining the effect demonstrated by servant leadership on how employees do perceive their performance and whether such a relationship is mediated by public service motivation. This paper addresses servant leadership, public service motivation and employee performance among staff in the context of Jordanian civil servants. Data was gathered from a random sample drawn among 3000 employees of the Jordanian customs department. Structure equation modelling techniques were used to statistically analyze the dataset. This draws scholars’ attention into how servant leadership plays a role affecting civil servants perceived self-reported performance while motivating employees to serve the cause of governmental institutions which in turn enhances an increase on the reported performance levels. This paper produces further evidence to support servant leadership and public service motivation adoption to affect performance in previously neglected area of Jordanian public service within the Jordanian customs department.

Keywords: Servant Leadership, Trust in Leader Job satisfaction, Hotel industry

Abstract:
The huge growth in economies of Dubai during the past few decades requires a high level of leadership and management. Leaders who act as a mere management representative and are not able to perform in various styles cannot be effective. For a leader to show ineffectiveness means distrust, which lowers the satisfaction of a population in different aspects. Hence leadership and trust are topics that require further examination. This study tries to determine the interaction among servant leadership (SL) and job satisfaction (JS) while utilizing the trust degree in leader (TIL) as a mediator factor between leadership approach and level of satisfaction in job. The research was conducted on 260 employees in four different hotels in Dubai (Jood Plaza, Sadaf Delmon, Ibis International and Address hotel). Correlation analyses have shown a positive and significant relationship between (SI), (JS) and trust. There is a large gap in the literature when it comes to the direct relationship of (SL) and (JS) in general, and this research hopes to fill the gap and enhance the achievement process for managerial level.

Three of the Servant Leadership dimensions have positive impact on the success dimensions IT project. The Servant Leadership Dimension Accountability has a positive impact on the dimensions Project management success, Perception success and Result success.
