This empirical research aims to investigate the relationship between Human Resource Management (HRM) practices, Person-Organization (P-O) fit and Job Satisfaction (JS) from the nurses’ perspective working in Private Hospitals in Jordan. This study examines the individual effect of HRM practices i.e. Recruitment and Selection (RS); Training and Development (TD); and Performance Appraisal (PA) on P-O fit and JS. In addition, it also examines the mediating effect of P-O fit on the relationship between HRM practices and JS. Total of 274 responses were collected directly using structured questionnaire via convenience sampling technique. The result was analyzed with PLS-SEM. Findings indicate that RS and PA were found to have significant effect on P-O fit. TD did not have any significant effect on P-O fit. In addition, P-O fit also had significant effect on nurse’s JS. In terms of mediating effect, P-O fit only mediated the relationship between RS and PA toward JS. However, there was no mediation effect on the relationship between TD and JS. This study may provide an initial blueprint for further investigation of other theoretical nurses’ job satisfaction and turnover intention related models. Finally, the study findings work as evidence about the new realization among the Jordanian organizations about the importance of adaption the HRM practices.

The objective of the study is to investigate the mediating role of the productivity of the banks sector in Jordan based on the relationship between human resources and strategic performance from the point of view of the senior management managers and functional unit managers (human resources, marketing, finance and accounting). Human resources were measured through human resource activities. The population of the current study represented all the commercial banks in Jordan, the total number of which is 26. A survey questionnaire is prepared based on the published literature, and the data are collected from 371 respondents from the targeted banks. The necessary tests to ensure reliability and validity are performed using SPSS. The results indicate that human resources positively affected strategic performance and productivity. The findings also revealed that productivity positively mediated the relationship between human resources and the commercial banks' strategic performance.

The present study explored the relationship between CEO duality and the scope of CER practices in the yearly reports of Jordanian industrial firms over the period 2009-2018 shaped by the board directors’ political links. To determine the amount of environmental data included in the firms’ yearly reports, the method of content analysis checklist was applied. CEO duality was chosen as an independent variable, which was measured by attributing a score to the existence/non-existence of CEO dual role, whilst the employed moderator variable was the political links and measured by attributing a score to the existence/non-existence of political links among the board directors of the investigated firms. Furthermore, to evaluate how the relationship between CEO duality and CER practices was influenced by political links, the statistical package for the social sciences (SPSS) and Hayes’ PROCESS macro were adopted. According to the results obtained, the above-mentioned relationship was substantially adversely impacted by political links. Such results could promote better corporate-stakeholder communication, enhancing stakeholders’ awareness of environmental responsibility in the context of Jordan as a developing nation. Therefore, the results have ramifications for the practices employed by firms to report on matters unrelated to finance.

Entrepreneurship is currently a popular topic for research due to the influence it brings to bear on multiple areas of life. Consequently, it is necessary to recognize the behaviors that boost the chances of entrepreneurs and their startups achieving success. This research primarily seeks to investigate the extent to which networking behaviors can influence the success of entrepreneurial startups in Jordan. For this purpose, the authors propose and study six networking behaviors as independent variables, namely cultivating internal contacts, cultivating external contacts, socialization, getting involved in professional activities, taking part in community activities, and raising one’s profile within the company. The dependent variable is the success of entrepreneurial startups. A quantitative analysis was conducted by distributing a questionnaire to startup companies in Amman, Jordan. The results confirm that the better entrepreneurs are at practicing these networking behaviors, the more influence they have on the success of their startups. Those behaviors that carry most influence are cultivating internal contacts, cultivating external contacts, and getting involved in professional activities. Finally, the research recommends further study should be carried out to make known the full impact of these six networking behaviors, in addition to encouraging more wholesale adoption of entrepreneurial networking behaviors to increase the probability of success for entrepreneurial startups.

The purpose of this research is to investigate a compilation model of employee individual characteristics towards plan commitment in public organizations. To achieve this, we propose a novel conceptual model that explains the relationship between cognitive style and commit-ment to strategic planning on Jordan ministry of interior. We then investigate the mediation role of the user acceptance model for both perceived ease of use and usefulness of the strategic planning process among the study variables. Data were collected from 365 employees and sen-ior management at the ministry of interior of Jordan. Data analysis was performed using structural equation modeling (SEM). Our results show that there was a significant relationship between cognitive style and user acceptance model alongside a commitment to strategic planning. In addition, our results show that the perceived usefulness of the strategic planning process mediated the positive relationship between cognitive style and plan commitment.

This research paper aims to examine the impact of social media advertisement attributes, including informativeness, trust, and irritation, and internet users’ motivational factors; namely investigation, customization, opportunity seeking, interaction, and entertainment on individuals' attitude towards advertisements over social media sites in Jordan. A conceptual research model was proposed based on the relevant literature to be empirically tested. Data was collected using an online questionnaire survey administered to 256 participants. Hypotheses were tested using single and multiple linear regression analyses. Results show that advertisement design factors along with internet users’ motives were all significant factors affecting the attitude towards advertisements on social media sites with entertainment, interaction and informativeness had the highest impact. Based on the research findings, recommendations were reported for academicians and practitioners. Limitations and promising areas for further research were discussed.

This research aims to recognize the impact of servant leadership on organizational citizenship behavior in Jordanian Islamic Banks where job satisfaction is a mediating variable. The research sample is selected from three Jordanian Islamic Banks operating in Jordan. The sample selected 168 people for the current research based on a random sample technique. The results indicate that there is a positive correlation between servant leadership and organizational citizenship behavior. There is also a significant impact of the servant leadership on the organizational citizenship behavior and a significant impact of servant leadership on the organizational citizenship behavior through job satisfaction at the Jordanian Islamic Banks.

In this article, the impacts that moral intelligence has on green purchasing intentions in Jordan was investigated based on three moral theories (Utilitarianism, Deontology, Virtue Ethics), as well as the theory of Planned Behavior. Furthermore, four key areas of moral intelligence (compassion, forgiveness, responsibility and integrity) were discussed. A questionnaire was used to obtain the necessary primary data from 191 customers in Jordan. To analyze the results, partial least squares structural equation modeling was carried out. It was concluded that the four key aspects of moral intelligence (compassion, forgiveness, responsibility and integrity) positively impact green purchasing intentions. This research has practical significance in the fields of green marketing and moral intelligence, especially with regard to the dimensions of compassion, forgiveness, responsibility and integrity. These dimensions can thus serve as a guide for improving customers’ green purchase intentions in future. Moreover, the research is important for investigations into individual and company-based environmental sustainability.

Patients’ satisfaction has become one of the critical issues for governments all over the world and they are prioritizing to keep their citizens happy. The objective of the current study was to determine the impact of health service quality on patient’s satisfaction. The study was applied on public hospitals in Jordan. The participants of this research were physician/doctors working in public hospitals in Jordan, a convenience sample with 400 questionnaires handled to the patients, and 354 questionnaires were valid for statistics. The researchers used the AMOS software version 20 to test the hypothesized structural equation model. Health service quality explained %65.7 of the variation of patient satisfaction, which was also, illustrated the extent to which the quality of health service had the potential to make a change in the level of patients’ satisfaction in public hospitals. Health service quality had a positive effect on patient satisfaction; therefore, researchers pointed out some recommendations for top management and decision-makers at public hospitals.

This research aims to identify and evaluate different factors influencing the customer decision in selecting a community pharmacy in the city of Amman, and study the possible impact of branded pharmacy on the selection process. Five main factors were selected based on the literature review, including convenience, physical environment, sales promotions, qualified and experienced pharmacists and customer service and three main hypotheses and twelve sub-hypotheses were developed. A descriptive analytical methodology, quantitative approach, utilizing survey strategy utilizing questionnaire were used. The population of this research consists of customers who decide to choose a community pharmacy which is estimated at 934.5 thousand households. To collect the primary data, a self-administered questionnaire was pre-pared based on previous studies; 1070 questionnaires were distributed in different community pharmacies in Amman using convenience sample (pharmacy intercept), 801 filtered and screened questionnaires were sent for statistical analyses. The results reveal that customer service factor had the highest effect on customers’ selection of pharmacies, followed by qualified and experienced pharmacists and convenience, respectively. Sales promotions and physical environment have the least impacts on customers’ decision. The results also show that there is a partial statistically significant mediation effect of branded pharmacy on the direct relationship between the selected factors and customers’ pharmacy selection. The demographic variables have no statistically significant moderating effects on the direct relationship between the selected factors and pharmacy selection. Discussion, managerial implications, and future research recommendations are provided.
