The impact mechanism of digital transformation on the supply chain capabilities of the fresh-cut flower industry in Yunnan province of China Pages 19-34 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: Ni Li, Boonsub Panichakarn, Tao Xing

DOI: 10.5267/j.dsl.2024.12.001

Keywords: Yunan fresh-cut flowers, Digital transformation, Supply chain capabilities, Innovation capabilities, Technology readiness, Organizational readiness

Abstract:
Given the rapid global economic development and continuous technical advancements, a key strategy for companies trying to improve their competitive edge and accomplish sustainable development is digital transformation. This study's goal was to investigate how the supply chain capabilities of Yunnan Province's fresh-cut flower business are affected by digital transformation. To collect data, the study employed a survey methodology based on a questionnaire. Ultimately, 402 flower businesses in Yunnan Province produced valid du-plicates. PLS-SEM was utilized in the study to evaluate the data, and the results showed that digital transformation greatly improved the enterprises' capacity for both innovation and supply chain management; innovation capabilities positively impacted supply chain capabilities and acted as a mediator in the relationship between supply chain capabilities and digital transformation. Furthermore, organizational readiness largely exhibits a positive moderating effect on the relationship between digital transformation and supply chain capabilities, whereas technology readiness not only fosters but also reinforces the relationship between digital transformation and innovation capabilities. These results offer an effective reference suggestion for fresh-cut flower companies in Yunnan Province and nationwide on how to enhance supply chain capabilities through digital transformation to improve their competitive advantages.

Abstract:
In the ever-growing digital era, technology has changed various aspects of human life, including the way governments manage supply chains in procuring goods and services. Digital transformation has opened new opportunities to increase efficiency, transparency, and accountability in procurement in government companies. This research aims to investigate the relationship between digital supply chains and competitiveness and the relationship between digital transformation and the competitiveness of government companies. This type of research is quantitative through survey methods. The population of this research is employees of government logistics companies who are responsible for supply chain processes, have digital activities and implement Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). The research questionnaire was designed using a Likert scale of 1 to 9, a scale of 1 indicating strongly disagree and a scale of 9 indicating strongly agree. Questionnaires were distributed via social media to 780 employees of government logistics companies related to supply chain processes, respondents were determined using a simple random sampling method. Of the 780 questionnaires that were returned, 570 were returned for analysis. Data analysis uses the partial least square-structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) method with data analysis tools, namely SmartPLS 3.0. The data analysis stages are reliability, validity and hypothesis testing. The independent variables of this research are digital supply chain and digital transformation. The dependent variable is the company's competitiveness. The results of this research show that digital supply chains have a positive and significant relationship to competitiveness and digital transformation has a positive and significant relationship to competitiveness. By utilizing digital technology optimally, companies can obtain several extraordinary benefits. Among other things, companies will be able to expand markets and increase revenue more effectively. Apart from that, digital technology also makes it easier to monitor business activities, create structured financial reports, and reduce costs, especially in terms of marketing, logistics and shipping.

Authors: Ahmad Ali Salih, Lamya Alsalhi, Azzam Abou-Moghli

DOI: 10.5267/j.uscm.2023.10.022

Keywords: Entrepreneurial Orientation, Organizational Performance, Digital Transformation, Private Banks, Iraq

Abstract:
This research investigated how digital transformation affects the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and organizational performance among private banks in Baghdad, Iraq. The study population consisted of 5,000 individuals holding various positions, including general manager, deputy general manager, department head, section head, and employee. To obtain a representative sample, the researchers employed the stratified equal random sampling method and randomly selected participants. As a result, a total of 406 questionnaires were distributed. However, only 197 questionnaires were valid and suitable for analysis, representing a percentage of 49% of the distributed questionnaires. The primary means of gathering information was through a questionnaire, and the data obtained were analyzed using inferential statistical techniques. The research findings indicated that the different aspects of entrepreneurial orientation, such as being proactive, taking risks, and flexibility, had a significant and beneficial influence on the organization's overall performance and its ability to operate effectively and engage socially. Nonetheless, the innovation aspect did not have a notable impact on the performance of the organization and its related dimensions. In addition, the research indicated that digitalization has a beneficial impact on the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and the performance of an organization, making it more powerful. The research suggested that private banks operating in Baghdad province ought to promote innovation, foster productive social interactions, enhance their operational efficiency, facilitate digital transformation, and leverage their moderating influence to improve the performance of the organization by boosting entrepreneurial orientation.

Authors: Nonnaphan Jantaro, Yuosre F. M. Badir

DOI: 10.5267/j.uscm.2023.10.009

Keywords: Procurement, e-Procurement, Digital technology adoption, Digital transformation

Abstract:
The procurement process is part of Purchase to pay (P2P) that consumes huge company costs. There are many procedures that need to be performed related to data. Without digital technology it might cause human error which will lead to issues in higher cost and will create a lot of delay in the procurement process. To improve procurement performance, selecting the right technologies that will create performance impact is quite a challenging task for the company. This study aims to examine the impact of digital technology adoption on procurement performance and to examine the mechanism through which digital technologies impact procurement performance. Target groups are medium and large manufacturing companies in the Eastern economic corridor, Thailand. In research findings, there is data supporting our hypotheses that digital technology adoption in procurement has a positive impact on procurement performance in cost and cycle time reduction. As a result of the moderation effect, reducing human errors, data availability and responsiveness moderated the positive impact between technology adoption and procurement cost reduction. The effect between technology adoption and procurement cycle time reduction has positively been mediated by reducing human errors and data availability. However, responsiveness rejected the hypothesis that mediates the relationship between technology adoption and procurement cycle time reduction.

Structural framework of digital transformation enablers towards enhancing the social media marketing Pages 327-328 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: Sania Khan

DOI: 10.5267/j.msl.2020.9.037

Keywords: Digitalization, Social Media Marketing, Digital Marketing, Digital Transformation, Interpretive Structural Modeling, Delphi Technique

Abstract:
Most of the organizations today look forward to streamlining their business with the rapid needs of the society. However, they do not consider the holistic view of various digital driving factors. The paper aimed to develop a structural framework using the enablers of Digital Transformation (DT) by applying qualitative and rational approaches to develop a conceptual model of DT adoption for various industries. The assimilated approach of Delphi and Interpretive Structural Modelling demonstrated the qualitative data-driven theoretical structure by identifying fourteen enablers of DT and developed a logical model in nine levels. The driving and dependency powers of each enabler were portrayed in MIC MAC analysis. The government regulation and market pressure found as key drivers with strong driving and low dependency powers occupying the lowest level which influences customer demand, behavior and expectations and process, performance improvement of the business. The model demonstrates a deep understanding of global firms to leverage various dimensions while taking transformation decisions in their business process and gain a competitive edge. Further, any organization that looks for adopting digital transformation can consider these factors or models in deciding the implementation process. It recommends researchers to validate the model or may prioritize the factors and sub-factors for multi-criterion based decision making process for unique findings.
