In the present work, Zn(II), Co(II) and Cr(II) metal complexes (3-5) of N-hydroxy-4-[(hydroxyimino)methyl]benzamidine ligand (2) were synthesized and their anti-HIV activity by inhibiting reverse transcriptase was explored. Structural characterization using NMR, FTIR, Mass, UV-Vis spectra, TGA, magnetic moment and elemental analyses were performed. The analyses show that geometry, lipophilicity and steric factor play crucial role. Cell viability test is performed on peripheral blood mononuclear cells to check toxicity of prepared compounds on immune system, shows toxicity only at higher concentration. Antimicrobial activity and DNA cleavage analysis have also been studied and reported.

This research aims to examine the influence of top management commitment on the operational performance through the mediating role of the green purchasing and ISO 14000 implementation. This study used a quantitative approach and collected data by distributing 70 questionnaires to textile companies located in the Central Java region, Indonesia. One respondent from the top management level, a manager or general manager represented each company. Off the 70, 48 questionnaires were returned and completed correctly. Data analysis used a partial least square (PLS) technique with SmartPLS software version 3.0. The results show that top management commitment has a significant influence on green purchasing, ISO 14000 implementation, and operational performance directly. The results also show that top management commitment also influences the operational performance through the mediating role of the green purchasing and the ISO 14000 implementation. Additional findings indicate that top management commitment contributes more influence on the operational performance through the mediating role of the green purchasing and the ISO1400 implementation than its direct influence. This study contributes to the current theory on supply chain management and paves the way for the practitioner in enhancing the operational performance of the textile industry.

Due to the thrive of family businesses in the current economic situation, to solve the problem of the definition of these businesses, in this paper we suggest using a scale that measures the quality of family influence through three dimensions: power, experience, and culture. The family influence on power, experience and culture (F-PEC) scale, as well as strategic planning, have been tested precisely using a random sample of more than 211 people from two companies of Golestan and Shemshal industrial group located in Tehran, Iran through using the confirmatory factor analysis technique. The Scale shows a high level of reliability. F-PEC has been used in a number of studies to theoretical development, particularly in terms of the impact of family influence on the individual resources and as a source of competitive advantage. In this research, strategic planning is also considered as a source of competitive advantage and its impact on the success of the family business has been investigated.

The linear governing equations of a micropolar thermoelastic medium without energy dissipation are solved for surface wave solutions. The appropriate solutions satisfying the radiation conditions are applied to the required boundary conditions at the free surface of the half-space of the medium. A frequency equation is obtained for Rayleigh wave in the medium. The non-dimensional speed of the propagation of Rayleigh wave is computed for a specific model of the material and are shown graphically against frequency and non-dimensional parameter.

This paper presents an empirical investigation to study the effects of corporate governance on risk taking of private insurance firms and banks in Iran. The proposed study of this paper considers the financial information of 13 banks and 19 private insurance firms over the period 2006-2011 in Iran. The study investigates the effects of five variables including size, CEO duality task, composition of the board of directors, ownership concentration and having an internal auditing system on risk taking of private banks and insurance firms in Iran. Using some panel data and regression analysis, the study confirms the positive effect of the ownership concentration as well as negative impact of non-bound board members on risk taking.

Based on studying organizational structure of Construction Green Supply Chain Management (CGSCM), a mathematical programming model of CGSCM was proposed. The model aimed to maximize the aggregate profits of normalized construction logistics, the reverse logistics and the environmental performance. Numerical experiments show that the proposed approach can improve the aggregate profit effectively. In addition, return ratio, subsidies from governmental organizations, and environmental performance were analyzed for CGSCM performance. Herein, the proper return, subsidy and control strategy could optimize construction green supply chain.

Service quality is basically a comparison between expectations and the perceptions of the customer. The interrelationship between various aspects of information technology (IT) adoption and other basic characteristics of service quality is complex and dependent on the expected service composition. Reliability, conformance, durability and serviceability are taken as functions of service quality; whereas Tenure, utility and vendor are taken as functions of Information Technology. Substantial literature has examined the concept of service quality, its dimensions, and measurement methods. Statistical analysis of quality parameters has been performed and validation is done with different Artificial Neural Network (ANNs) architecture with different hidden layers. The model proposed in this study is designed to evaluate and improve service quality within a comprehensive framework.

An appropriate supply chain design helps survival in competitive markets. Achieving maximum efficiency may also help decision makers have a better selection for the supply chain network. The purpose of this paper is to design an efficient supply chain model in terms of the distribution channels under uncertain conditions. The proposed study produces multi products using different materials by considering four layers of multiple suppliers, producers, storages and customers. There are two objectives of maximizing efficiency of distributers and minimizing total cost of supply chain management. The proposed model locates producers as well as suppliers and determines the amount of orders from different suppliers. In order to measure the relative efficiency, the study uses the method developed by Klimberg and Ratick (2008) [Klimberg, R. K., & Ratick, S. J. (2008). Modeling data envelopment analysis (DEA) efficient location/allocation decisions. Computers & Operations Research, 35(2), 457-474.]. In addition, to handle the uncertainty, the study uses the robust optimization technique developed by Molvey and Ruszczy?ski (1995) [Mulvey, J. M., & Ruszczy?ski, A. (1995). A new scenario decomposition method for large-scale stochastic optimization. Operations research, 43(3), 477-490.]. The preliminary results indicate that the proposed model is capable of providing efficient solutions under various uncertain conditions.

This article provides a method of acoustic emission (AE) technique to detect leakage in pipeline and locate the position of the leakage. The AE sensor is made of piezoelectric effect transducer to pick up the acoustic emission signal which is generated from the turbulent flow at the leak position. The signal conditioning unit is used to enhanced and eliminate the background noise from the leak location sources. The main acoustic emission processing unit is used to acquire and process the extracted AE characteristic parameters from preprocessing waveform. The leak pipeline is simulated by drilling the hole and plugged with M8 screw at different locations. The results show that the proposed AE method can detect and locate simultaneous leak condition in pipeline with promising results.

Export is the backbone of business development in any industry and it plays essential role on the success of organizations. The objective of this study is to determine factors influencing on food industry for development of export activities. The study designs a questionnaire in Likert scale and distributes it among 247 randomly selected experts who were active in production of foods in city of Tehran, Iran. Using principle component analysis based on varimax rotation, the study detects six factors including social opportunities, international opportunities, customer orientation, business opportunities, new technologies, organizational capabilities, commercialization of ideas on the development of export markets.
