Keywords: Green employee behavior, Green operation, Green purchasing, Internet of things

Abstract:
Many people are aware of taking care of the global environment, so they demand environmentally friendly business activities. The government also has responded to the commotion by requiring companies to produce friendly and safe products or services to their customers. Hotel industries react to it by implementing the concept of green hotels. The purpose of this study is to examine whether the Internet of Things, strategic green purchasing and green operation have impacted green employee behavior in star-hotels in East Java. Eighty-two (82) questionnaires were distributed, but only 62 questionnaires were valid, with a response rate of 75.60 %. SEM-PLS (Structural Equation Modelling Partial Least Square) was used to analyze the data. The results show that the Internet of Things (IoT) has a significant impact on green hotel operation, with the T-statistic value of 0.378. green purchasing has a significant impact on green hotel operation, with the T-statistic value of 0.545, and green employee behavior, with the T-statistic value of 0.346. The Internet of things (IoT) has no significant impact on green employee behavior directly but through green hotel operation. The use of energy efficiency and the existence of good waste management as indicators of green hotel operation has an impact on green employee behavior of 0.346.

Keywords: Green Supply Chain, Green Purchasing, Green Operations, Green Selling, Competitive Strategies, Differentiation Strategy, Cost Leadership Strategy, Responsiveness Strategy, Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing Industry, Jordan

Abstract:
Nowadays, the topic of preserving the environment and serving local communities is a hot issue. Hence, this study aims to explore how the green supply chain affects Jordan's pharmaceutical manufacturing industry's ability to compete globally. This study's research methodology is quantitative, descriptive, and cause-effect. Data was gathered from a sample of 124 managers selected randomly from a pool of 300 managers working in 10 out of 14 pharmaceutical manufacturing organizations. The study tool underwent evaluations for normality, validity, and reliability before the data were subjected to descriptive analysis and a correlation analysis was performed between variables. Finally, hypothesis testing was conducted through the application of multiple regression analysis. The findings show that green practices affect competitive strategy, where green operations were having the highest effect on competitive strategies, then green purchasing, and green selling, respectively. The study's conclusions show that the adoption of a green supply chain improves the competitiveness of the Jordanian pharmaceutical manufacturing sector. Accordingly, the study recommends that Jordanian pharmaceutical manufacturing companies should include green supply chain practices in their daily supply practices to increase the competitiveness of the organizations.

DOI: 10.5267/j.msl.2020.6.032

Keywords: Recycle plastic, Fashion, Green purchasing, Viet Nam

Abstract:
Turning recycled plastic waste into fashion products is an uprising trend that creates efficiencies and sustainability for both economic development and the environment. However, in Vietnam, the recycled-from-plastic-waste fashion industry is still underdeveloped. By using statistical inference method and primary data sources, the research determines factors that influence consumption behavior towards fashion products made by recycled plastic waste in Hanoi. Research results indicate that prices, product quality, and community influence impact on consumer behavior. In particular, community influence is considered as a new factor which is further investigated in accordance with conditions in Vietnam. Ultimately, the research proposes a number of recommendations for recycled fashion products manufacturing business in Vietnam.

The influence of eco-design, green information systems, green manufacturing, and green purchasing on manufacturing performance Pages 1045-1058 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: Florencia Angela Wungkana, Hotlan Siagian, Zeplin Jiwa Husada Tarigan

DOI: 10.5267/j.ijdns.2023.6.001

Keywords: Eco-design, Green information system, Green manufacturing, Green purchasing, Manufacturing performance

Abstract:
Companies today strive to integrate manufacturing processes with the environment to strike a balance. This study aims to examine the impact of green implementation for companies on the performance of manufacturing companies. Data was collected using Google Forms distributed online to the manufacturing companies domiciled in East Java. The criterion for the companies is that they have been committed to implementing a green approach to the production process, procurement of environmentally friendly raw materials, and green products. The partial least square technique analyzed data from as many as 115 respondents, with the position as senior staff level and higher, who have worked for at least two years and are permanent employees. The results showed that the implementation of eco-design has an impact on green purchasing and green manufacturing. Eco-design and green information systems implemented by the company can improve manufacturing performance by producing adequate overall product quality, and the number of products produced varies according to market demand. Therefore, the green information system affects green manufacturing and purchasing in manufacturing companies. Therefore, green manufacturing and green purchasing can impact manufacturing performance. The research results contribute to practitioners, especially top management, in committing to implementing Green which affects the performance of manufacturing companies. The theoretical contribution of the research is to enrich green supply chain management and sustainable performance for manufacturing companies.

DOI: 10.5267/j.jfs.2024.1.002

Keywords: Green supply chain management, Operational performance, Green purchasing, ISO 14000

Abstract:
This research aims to examine the influence of top management commitment on the operational performance through the mediating role of the green purchasing and ISO 14000 implementation. This study used a quantitative approach and collected data by distributing 70 questionnaires to textile companies located in the Central Java region, Indonesia. One respondent from the top management level, a manager or general manager represented each company. Off the 70, 48 questionnaires were returned and completed correctly. Data analysis used a partial least square (PLS) technique with SmartPLS software version 3.0. The results show that top management commitment has a significant influence on green purchasing, ISO 14000 implementation, and operational performance directly. The results also show that top management commitment also influences the operational performance through the mediating role of the green purchasing and the ISO 14000 implementation. Additional findings indicate that top management commitment contributes more influence on the operational performance through the mediating role of the green purchasing and the ISO1400 implementation than its direct influence. This study contributes to the current theory on supply chain management and paves the way for the practitioner in enhancing the operational performance of the textile industry.
