Keywords: Fintech Solutions, Financial Performance of SMEs, IT Industry, UAE

Abstract:
This study investigates the impact of introducing financial technology (Fintech) on increasing the financial viability of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) operating in the IT sector in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). By identifying the obstacles that SMEs experience while dealing digital transformation, this study aims to show how the emerging financial technologies, including digital banking, peer-to-peer lending, and AI applications, can drive enhancements in financial utilization and the innovation of banking products, cost-cuts, increased organizational productivity, and better client experiences. A quantitative research approach was implemented, and the research tool used was a structured questionnaire developed to capture respondents’ data from 250 respondents from SMEs in the UAE. Descriptive and inferential statistics of correlation and regression analysis were done using the stratified random sampling technique. Results indicated that fintech adoption enhances financial performance in SMEs. Specifically, increased accessibility shows a strong positive correlation with financial performance (r = 0.998, p < 0.01), while enhanced efficiency and improved customer experience also show strong correlations (r = 0.635, p < 0.01). The variable "Increased Accessibility" showed the most significant effect on the financial performance of SMEs, with a highly significant positive correlation and the strongest predictive value in the regression analysis. This study concludes that the implementation of fintech solutions offers significant opportunities for improving the financial performance of SMEs and recommends increased investment in fintech and appropriate regulation for that purpose.

An empirical study of critical success factors in implementing knowledge management systems (KMS): The moderating role of culture Pages 1527-1538 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: Ibrahim A. Abu-AlSondos

DOI: 10.5267/j.uscm.2023.7.016

Keywords: Knowledge Management System (KMS), Strategy, People, Process, Technology, Culture, UAE

Abstract:
This research focuses on the moderating effect of culture on the relationships between KMS and other variables affecting KMS in the service industry. The effects of a number of variables on KMS were examined via analysis and hypothesis testing. These variables included culture; people; process; strategy; and technology. The results show that culture and people have a substantial impact on KMS's performance, emphasizing the need of cultivating a supportive company culture and empowering employees. Furthermore, strategy and technology were shown to be critical in allowing effective knowledge management practices in the service industry. The research also investigates the moderating impacts of culture on these linkages, demonstrating that culture modulates the impact of process, technology, and strategy on KMS. However, it was shown that the interplay between culture and people did not substantially alter the link between people and KMS. These results provide useful insights for firms looking to improve their knowledge management methods, underlining the need to take culture into account and aligning it with strategic goals and technology solutions. While the study adds to our understanding of knowledge management in the service industry, further research is needed to investigate other elements and situations. Overall, this research has practical significance for firms looking to enhance their knowledge management activities and overall organizational performance.

Abstract:
This paper examines the impact of cyber resilience and supply chain (SC) robustness on supply chain performance in the UAE chemical industry. No prevailing empirical evidence makes this research unique and beneficial to the literature and future research related to cyber resilience in the chemical industry. Moreover, this research is a contemporary contribution to the research of the UAE chemical industry. The study applies a quantitative approach with causal, exploratory and analytical design. The magnitude of the industry is emphasized by choosing cluster sampling techniques. Data is collected from chemical manufacturing companies located in Abu Dhabi, UAE. A valid sample of 303 participants is used for data analysis. A positive direct impact with a significant level of cyber resilience and SC robustness on supply chain performance is found. Current hypothetical model assessment in one industry limits the research findings. It is recommended that other industries be investigated through longitudinal research. A system of diverse detection and defense mechanisms is required. For the chemical industry, an effective cyber security plan would strengthen resilience against cyberattacks and improve SC performance.

Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to empirically examine a theoretical model which identifies the effect of process quality improvement and lean practices on competitive performance in the healthcare industry in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The study uses a quantitative research technique with convenient cluster sampling through applying a descriptive, causal and analytical research design. A valid sample size of 270 respondents is used for analysis by linear regression and hypothesis testing using SPSS. The results indicate a direct significant relationship between process quality improvement and a direct significant relationship between lean practices and competitive performance. Given the substantial resources spent and efforts to improve healthcare quality, the absence of studies demonstrating the impact of quality-related operations and activities would require future research. Hospitals in one city in UAE have access that limits the research results. It is recommended that future research assess more variables dependency on the healthcare sector that can affect increase competitiveness. The research provides some managerial implications that could help hospital managerial members improve their healthcare delivery system's leanness and quality improvement to get competitiveness. Quality improvement and lean practices help increase competitive performance and can assist the healthcare sector in providing better service using these practices that have never been considered in research.

Authors: Mohammad Sleimi, Mahmoud Musleh, Ihab Qubbaj

DOI: 10.5267/j.msl.2020.6.027

Keywords: Customer Satisfaction, E-Banking service quality, UAE, Customer Loyalty

Abstract:
Despite the importance of the relationship between E-banking service quality and customer loyalty in the banking sector, little research has been devoted to Arabian regions. This paper investigates the relationship between e-banking service quality (i.e., efficiency, requirement fulfillment, accessibility and, Privacy) and customer loyalty by mediating customer satisfaction in UAE. Two steps sampling techniques are used and the researchers rely on cluster sampling in the region of Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) randomly. Again, random sampling techniques are used to choose 28 branches out off the 34 branches operating within this geographic area. 1500 surveys are distributed and 397 valid surveys are collected with a response rate of 26.5%. A partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) is applied to the data and the results show that the direct and indirect path coefficient between E-banking service quality and customer loyalty were statistically significant. Moreover, customer satisfaction mediates the relationship between E-banking service quality and customer loyalty. To sum up, the findings corroborate existing work in Western settings and underscore the importance of E-banking service quality in the Arabian banking context.

Authors: Farouq Ahmad Faleh Alazzam, Zaid Ibrahim Yousef Gharaibeh, Baker Akram Falah Jarah, Ahmad Mohammad Ali AlJabali, Murad Ali Ahmad Al-Zaqeba

DOI: 10.5267/j.ijdns.2025.9.021

Keywords: Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Cybersecurity, Legal Frameworks, Financial Institutions, UAE, Jordan

Abstract:
The study looks into the intersection of Artificial Intelligence (AI) with the Internet of Things (IoT), especially the legal, regulatory, and cybersecurity integration challenges within the context of UAE and Jordan's financial sectors. The objective of the study was to assess the relative impact of the cybersecurity challenges, legal infrastructures, and e-governance maturity on the cyber threats and trust of clientele. The study utilized a quantitative research design, gathering data through a survey distributed to employees and managers within a number of financial institutions. With a data sample of 400 employees, the survey data were analyzed through a variety of methods, such as descriptive statistics, reliability, Pearson correlations, and Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). The study established that the risks posed by inadequate cybersecurity infrastructures substantially increase the threats. Also, the risks posed by inadequate legal regulations and low e-governance maturity do not appear to increase the challenges. Legal adequacy positively impacts trust. Exposure to cyber threats with unmitigated risks and poor legal regulations and low e-governance maturity do not appear to increase the challenges. The study relies on the trust of cyber clientele to validate and uphold the proposed theoretical framework suggesting the need for an integrated approach consisting of high-quality legal regulations, comprehensive governance, and secure advanced cybersecurity to ensure the safe merging of AI and IoT. In addition, the study sheds light on the perspectives of policymakers, regulators, and financial institutions aiming to build safe and reliable digital financial systems in the UAE and Jordan.
