Abstract:
Entrepreneurial universities can be considered a new topic that needs greater attention. Many researchers believe that universities can and must have a more important cultural and economic impact. This study seeks to develop and analyze entrepreneurial universities profile using entrepreneurial orientations in order to define an integrative process for entrepreneurial universities. This involves identifying dimensions, mechanisms, and steps for entrepreneurial universities as well as establishing a strategy and plans for universities such as Qassim University or the College of Business and Economics (CBE). To achieve this objective, this study adopted a quantitative approach based on a questionnaire. Data was collected from 210 respondents who were practitioners and academics to discover the effect of the influential factors and entrepreneurial university orientation on the entrepreneurship and innovativeness indexes. The collected data was analyzed using AMOS 24- SEM with a moderating effect. The findings revealed that CBE, in line with strategic planning and the importance of entrepreneurship in Vision 2030, tended towards developing an entrepreneurial orientation and inte-grated some good practices for the integrative process for entrepreneurial universities (IPEU). The main contribution of this paper was the identification of a path diagram and adequate practices for achieving entrepreneurial university standards. Overall, the findings explicate the importance of this step in terms of cultural, economic, and social impacts. If the findings of this study are tenaciously implemented, this may help Qassim University move towards a higher level of excellence and competitiveness based on entrepreneurship actions. Entrepreneurial university orientation seems to be important for the development of this process. In other words, to become entrepreneurial we must, in the first step, integrate this new approach to determine how to use resources and factors.

DOI: 10.5267/j.msl.2019.11.034

Keywords: Entrepreneurial orientation, Cooperative, Entrepreneurs

Abstract:
Even though the investment sector generally governs economic growth in developed coun-tries. Indonesia's economic growth so far has been dominated by the consumption sector. On the other hand, one of the significant contributors to the investment sector is the entrepreneurs’ role in any country. Therefore, the challenge for Indonesia is to make the entrepreneurs reach substantial contributions. This study investigates on three variables; namely entrepreneurial orientation, cooperatives, and entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurial orientation is the exogeneous variable, cooperative is the mediator variable and, the entrepreneur is the endogenous variable. These three variables are formed into three sub-models and one complete model. Each sub-model is to find out whether the dimensions contribute to each variable, and the entire model is to find out a significant relationship among the variables. The method used is the structural equation model (SEM), with computer software LISREL. This research will produce a breakthrough in how cooperative can mediate from entrepreneurial orientation to entrepreneurs. Besides, the study will deliver how cooperative stakeholders to get some understanding of entrepreneurial orientation so that cooperatives as an institution can persuade members of organizations to become entrepreneurs to be ready to contribute to economic growth. Moreover, the results provide the science of sustainable management on how to apply creativity and innovation to the cooperative organization.

Abstract:
This study aims to examine the role of innovation strategies in mediating Covid-19 perceptions and entrepreneurial orientation on the performance of endek weaving craft business in Bali Province. The theoretical basis used is RBV (Resources Based View) which argues that each company has varying resources with differences in resulting performances. The test was carried out by quantitative analysis using a Structural Equation Model (SEM) based on Partial Least Square (PLS). Data were collected from 139 MSME of endek weaving craftsmen. The results of testing the effect of Covid-19 perceptions and entrepreneurial orientation on business performance were insignificant. Meanwhile, those on innovation strategies and entrepreneurial orientation were positively significant. The results of testing the effect of innovation strategy on business performance and collaboration between the government and the private sector in moderating the innovation strategy on business performance were positively significant and insignificant. The results of testing the effect of innovation strategies mediating Covid-19 perceptions on business performance and mediating entrepreneurial orientation on business performance were positively significant. The study actually confirms that the innovation strategy is a strong mediating variable to bridge the relationships between entrepreneurial orientation variables, Covid-19 perceptions, and business performance. The collaboration between the government and the private sector is also an insignificant moderator to achieve the business performance of MSME actors.

DOI: 10.5267/j.msl.2019.1.003

Keywords: Business Networking, Entrepreneurial Orientation, Business Sustainability, Small Rural Business (SRB), Structural Equation Modelling (SEM)

Abstract:
This study aims to examine the entrepreneurial orientation (EO) of the Small Rural Business (SRB) entrepreneurs in Malaysia by taking Business Networking (BN) as the antecedent. BN is used to explain the influence of EO as a mediator and its’ consequences towards SRB Business Sustaina-bility (BS). The survey method was employed in this study and the data was analyzed using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) multivariate data analysis. Based on the SEM analysis, it can be concluded that in this study, the relationship between BN and BS was not mediated by EO. However, BN has direct effect towards EO. Moreover, EO and BN were significant as predictors towards BS. Size, age and technology of SRB were used as control variables in this study.

Does strategic alignment matter when SMEs adopt entrepreneurial orientation? An empirical examination in Vietnam Pages 577-584 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: Quang-Huy Ngo

DOI: 10.5267/j.uscm.2021.6.003

Keywords: Differentiating strategy, Entrepreneurial orientation, Organizational performance, Resource-based view SME, Vietnam

Abstract:
Prior studies suggest that differentiating strategy (DS) has an intervening impact on the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation (EO) and performance. However, they only examine the impacts based on each dimension of EO, provide a lack of theory underpinning why this strategy is the mediator, and focus on the manufacturing industry of an emerging market. Addressing these gaps, the purpose of this study draws from the contingency theory in strategic management to examine whether this strategy is the mediator in the context of Vietnam. Partial least square structural equation modeling used to assess the research model with data collected from 142 SMEs operating in Vietnam. The result indicates that DS fully has an intervening effect on the association between EO and SMEs' performance.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to measure the impact of institutional environment as government regulation and managers’ capabilities to maintain the relationship between the stakeholder networks and the entrepreneurial orientation within the context of the hospital industry in Indonesia. The results of data analysis from 105 small and medium private hospitals in the Jakarta city and surrounding areas show that the hospital entrepreneurial orientation was significantly influenced by government policies reflected by the legal certainty and bureaucratic attitudes that assist the implementation of the policies. Besides, it is proven that management capabilities to establish the relationships with many stakeholders, consisting of all existing partners and employees, also affect the growth of entrepreneurial orientation. Finally, the performance of the hospital is proven to be significantly influenced by the entrepreneurial orientation directly and also mediated by business model innovation. The results of this study become paradoxical because it is different from the opinion that the healthcare industry would not have accepted the concept of entrepreneurship.
