Abstract:
The research aimed to know the influence of long-term relationships, information sharing, Cooperation, and integration process in partial on the supply chain effectiveness of the EPC Steam Power Plant project in the Province of North Sulawesi. It was also to know whether enterprise risk management moderates the influence, long-term relationship, information sharing, Cooperation, and integration process toward supply chain effectiveness. The employees who became the sample in the supply chain activities of the steam power plant project in North Sulawesi were 250 people, 149 of whom were proportionally from the project owner. The research uses the data analysis technique using Structural Equation Modelling-Partial Least Square. The result of the study indicated that long-term relationships, information sharing, Cooperation, and integration process partially have a positive and significant influence on supply chain effectiveness. In addition, enterprise risk management proved to moderate the impact of information sharing. Still, it needed to moderate the effect of a long-term relationship, Cooperation, and integration process on the supply chain effectiveness of the EPC Steam Power Plant Sulut-3 project.

Enterprise risk management: A bibliometric analysis of research Trends Pages 561-570 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: Titik Aryati, K Khomsiyah, Cicely D. Harahap

DOI: 10.5267/j.dsl.2023.4.007

Keywords: Bibliometric, Enterprise Risk Management, ERM, Web of Science

Abstract:
A bibliometric study of 510 enterprise risk management (ERM) papers from the Web of Science Core Collection (WOS-CC) database from 2004 to 2023 is presented in this article. The study's main goal was to give a bibliometric overview of ERM research, focusing on annual publications, references, journals, authors, author affiliations, and nations. Each article's author, document type, publication year, source, volume, edition, pages, number of citations, and references were obtained from WOS in BibTex format. To help the research, Biblioshiny evaluated this data. The survey indicated that ERM research has increased fast over the previous two decades, with a consistent upward trend and increasing pace in the past five years. "What's wrong with risk matrices?" by Cox, LA (2008) was the most cited publication in this topic, and the Journal of Risk and Financial Management was the most influential journal. David L. Olson of the University of Nebraska Lincoln was the most prolific author, and UNL was the premier research institution in this area, according to the survey. ERM research was heavily influenced by the US and several other countries. To further ERM research, the paper recommends international collaboration. More research can refine the identification of ERM research hotspots and emerging trends, according to the report.

Enterprise risk management and supply chain management: The mediating role of competitive advantage and decision making in improving firms performance Pages 1131-1140 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: M.L. Denny Tewu, Suwarno Suwarno, Purwatiningsih Lisdiono, Renny Friska, Agus Joko Pramono

DOI: 10.5267/j.uscm.2023.11.021

Keywords: Enterprise Risk Management, Supply Chain Management, Competitive Advantage, Decision Making, Firm Performance

Abstract:
The complexity of risk management and supply chain optimization in the business context, especially in financial institutions such as banking, highlights several factors that require special attention. In the banking sector, where risk and operational smoothness are crucial, risk management and supply chain optimization play pivotal roles in maintaining stability and competitiveness. The objective of this research is to explore the extent to which the implementation of ERM (Enterprise Risk Management) and SCM (Supply Chain Management) can create a competitive advantage, influence decision-making, and ultimately impact company performance. The research methodology employed is quantitative. Data collection was conducted through the distribution of Likert-scale questionnaires with a score range from 1 to 5. The sample selection process utilized random sampling techniques, involving managers and staff working in State-Owned Enterprises (SOE/BUMN) in Indonesia. The study analyzed 263 samples, with data collected from February 2023 to June 2023. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with SmartPLS software facilitated data analysis. The results indicate that ERM significantly influences competitive advantage and decision-making, but it does not directly impact company performance. Similarly, SCM has a significant positive impact on competitive advantage and decision-making but does not directly affect company performance. Competitive advantage, in this study, did not prove to enhance firm performance or act as a mediator connecting ERM and SCM to company performance. However, decision-making significantly influences company performance and serves as a significant mediator in the relationship between ERM and SCM concerning company performance.

The enterprise risk which is not well-managed can result in a decrease in competitive advantage and company performance. The shipping companies having no competitive advantage will have poor performance and lose in the competition with similar companies. This research uses Path Analysis with the analysis tool of Partial Least Square SmartPLS3 and its path coefficient significance test using a t-test. The total number of samples is 65 consisting of 13 companies with five years of observation taken using the purposive sampling technique. The result of this research states that shipping companies in Indonesia can increase their company performance through enterprise risk management. The role of enterprise risk management on disclosure transparency in the international financial reporting standards period Pages 1241-1250 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: Bisan Almasri

DOI: 10.5267/j.ac.2021.4.016

Keywords: Enterprise Risk Management, International Financial Reporting Standards, Disclosure Transparency, Firm Incentives

Abstract:
This research empirically investigates the role of the enterprise risk management system implementation level in capturing firm managerial incentives. The system plays an important role in understanding the association between international financial reporting standards and the capital market. Listed firms in the Australian market were used for the period 2000-2010 for this purpose. The study results imply that implementing higher levels of ERM by Australian firms during the mandatory IFRS adoption period does not capture firm incentives in IFRS period. Consequently, these results suggest that the implementation of ERM by Australian firms does not reduce the contractual costs between investors and management, whilst adopting IFRS does. Future research may use other techniques and/or strategies other than ERM, to capture the firm incentives, and as a result, may have economic consequences.

Keywords: Enterprise risk management, ERM, Firm value

Abstract:
This study considers 77 Vietnam industry listed enterprises from 2012 to 2018 as research samples to establish indicators for evaluating the relationship between Enterprise risk management (ERM) and firm value among industry enterprises in Vietnam. International economic integration not only opens up many business opportunities for businesses but also brings many challenges for Vietnamese businesses. One of the challenges is that the financial risks to businesses are increasingly diverse in type and sophistication. Our results show that the implementation of ERM in the previous year has strong positive relationship with firm value. These findings support the recent pressure on businesses to adopt more comprehensive risk management systems.

This study aims to investigate the moderating effect of enterprise risk management on the relationship between the board of directors’ effectiveness on accounting and market performance in Jordan. The current study uses panel data of 684 firm-year observations, employed regression analysis and analysis of annual reports of 76 listed companies on the Amman stock exchange (ASE) from 2009 to 2017 covering 9 years. The findings of the hierarchical regression analysis showed that the enterprise risk management has a significant positive moderating effect on the relationship between the board of directors’ effectiveness on accounting and market performance in Jordan. The findings reveal that enterprise risk management positively moderated the relationship between board of directors’ effectiveness on Return on Assets, Return on Equity, and Tobin’s Q. It also moderated the interaction of board of directors’ effectiveness intercept enterprise risk management on Return on Assets and Return on Equity, which were found positive and significant. The findings of this paper can provide crucial conclusions and recommendations that clarify the relationship between the board of directors’ effectiveness and the accounting and market performance in Jordan and the moderate impact of the enterprise risk management.
