Developing models of environment uncertainty, incoterms on strategic alliance and competitive advantage Pages 1083-1096 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: Ahmad Sugiono, Agus Rahayu, Lili Adi Wibowo, Ratih Hurriyati

DOI: 10.5267/j.uscm.2023.12.001

Keywords: Competitive advantage, Environmental uncertainty, Freight Forwarders Incoterm, Strategic alliance

Abstract:
This study aims to analyze the impact of environmental uncertainty and Incoterm on strategic alliances and competitive advantage in the Freight Forwarder Industry in Indonesia. The measuring method examines how variables, including environmental uncertainty, Incoterm, and strategic alliances, affect competitive advantage using SmartPLS technology and structural equation modeling (SEM) analysis. The questionnaire was created using a 5-point Likert scale. Through a simple random selection procedure, study participants selected freight forwarder companies. Validity, reliability, and significance tests—often along with hypothesis testing—are all included in the sequential data analysis. The study has identified the following relationships based on an evaluation of the data processing: Strategic alliances are positively impacted by environmental uncertainty, Incoterm is positively affected by environmental uncertainty, Incoterm is positively influenced by competitive advantage, and strategic alliances are positively affected by competitive advantage. The novelty of this study is the influence of environmental uncertainty and Incoterm on Strategic alliance and competitive advantage in the Freight Forwarder Industry in Indonesia. The theoretical implication supports previous theories on environmental uncertainty and Incoterm to increase competitive advantage through strategic alliances. The practical implication is for the management of a Freight forwarding company to scan the uncertainty of the logistics environment and implement the selection of the right Incoterm to encourage strategic alliances to encourage competitive advantage. This research makes a significant contribution to the advancement of scientific principles, particularly within the field of strategic management. Furthermore, it provides a valuable reference and comparative material for future studies focusing on the impact of environmental uncertainty and Incoterm on strategic alliances and competitive advantage within the freight forwarder industry in Indonesia.

DOI: 10.5267/j.msl.2020.9.046

Keywords: Supply Chain, Logistic, Strategic Agility, Competitive Strategy, Firm performance

Abstract:
Competition in various companies encourages practitioners, entrepreneurs, and academics to examine the dynamization of business models. The dynamic study of this business model was driven by its dynamic environment. Dynamic moving environments require companies to be adaptive as quickly as possible. This adaptation encourages different firms to perform a certain strategy of excellence in the face of competition. Strategy Agility becomes a study of practitioners and academics due to its ability to predict and capture opportunities. One of the service industries faced with the dynamic environment within the company is the Logistic Service Provider. Fierce competition, the dynamic type of service, and rapidly changing technology encourage enterprises to always be agile in determining the direction to the business. The purpose of this research is to get a model of the relationship between strategic agility and competitive strategy as a moderator for the improvement of the firm performance. Methods used are quantitative methods. The research results describe the direct relationship between strategic agility and competitive strategy to the firm performance. However, when the competitive strategy is made as a moderator, strategic agility shows a negative effect.

The role of proactive market orientation and management commitment to internal resource on export performance of handicraft industry Pages 1711-1722 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: Fansuri Munawar, Agus Rahayu, Disman Disman, Lili Adi Wibowo

DOI: 10.5267/j.msl.2019.6.019

Keywords: Proactive market orientation, Management commitment to internal resource, Export performance

Abstract:
This study aims to analyze and provide empirical evidences on the effects of proactive market orientation (PMO) and management commitment to internal resource (MCIR) on export performance. The sample of this study includes the owners or leaders of handicraft exporter industry consisting of 72 respondents with a purposive random sampling in West Java, Indonesia. Data collection techniques are arranged by distributing questionnaires, interviewing, and recording documentation from the respondents. The data analysis uses the Structural Equation Model (SEM) based on Partial Least Square (PLS) with the tools of SPSS and SmartPLS statistical programs. The results show that the effect of proactive market orientation (PMO) on export performance (EP) was positive and significant. The effect of management commitment to internal resource (MCIR) on export performance was also positive and significant. MCIR has also a more considerable influence than PMO on ex-port performance. This research has implications for policy makers and creative industries in im-proving the export performance, especially handicraft industries in developing countries. Further-more, it is hoped that handicraft industries will consider the research findings in making business decisions and to improve their business success.

DOI: 10.5267/j.ijdns.2021.7.002

Keywords: e-commerce, Online brand community, e-loyalty, Marketing

Abstract:
This research aims to analyze the effect of Online Brand Community (OBC) on E-loyalty in the Indonesian e-commerce industry. This research was conducted by quantitative approach with the dependent variable of this research being e-loyalty (Y), and online brand community (X) as independent variable. The object includes all followers of Tokopedia, Bukalapak and OLX official Instagram accounts. The research uses a simple random sampling method and probability sampling techniques to 200 account users. Data analysis technique is implemented by using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with IBM SPSS AMOS version 22.0. The findings indicate the significant effect of online brand community on e-loyalty. The results theoretically imply the need for community engagement in online marketing as one of the online brand community’s dimensions which can give the contribution of e-loyalty building.
