A game theoretical approach for a green supply chain: A case study in hydraulic-pneumatic industry Pages 297-314 PDF Download PDF

Authors: TuฤŸรงe Dabanlฤฑ Kurt, Derya Eren Akyol

doi 10.5267/j.dsl.2023.1.005

๐Ÿ”‘ Keywords: Stackelberg Game, Green Manufacturing, Sustainability, Supply Chain Management, Vendor-Buyer Models

Abstract:
As customers' orientation towards environmental products increases, manufacturers and other members of the supply chain are looking for ways to conduct their operations in an environmentally and cost-effective manner. To find a solution that compensates these requests, a game theoretical approach is developed for a two-stage green supply chain consisting of a supplier and a producer. A Stackelberg game model based on asymmetric information structure is developed to find the optimal lot sizes and raw material sales price for raw material supplier, and the product sales price and the environmental cost for the producer. The developed approach is illustrated on a real-world case study that deals with production and raw material procurement processes of a plastic plug and compared to a scenario in which no environmental expenditures exist. The effect of changes in the model has been observed by tuning some significant parameters with the experimental design approach.

๐Ÿ”‘ Keywords: Green Supply Chain Management, Green Manufacturing, Green Distribution, Reverse Logistics, Pharmaceutical Company

Abstract:
This study aims to analyze the contribution of Green Manufacturing and Green Distribution on improving the performance of Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM) through Reverse Logistics. The development of industry and increasing consumer concern for the environment as well as issues regarding the concept of an environmentally sound industry have forced industries to adjust in line with the GSCM concept. To make the program a success, Green Manufacturing, Green Distribution, and Reverse Logistics are assumed to be supporting the implementation process. This study uses quantitative methods, with the number of samples taken randomly as many as 70 people. The analysis was carried out using the Path Analysis method. Hypothesis testing was carried out in two stages, namely Structural Model-1 and Structural Model-2 testing to obtain each path coefficient number. The results of the study conclude that there is the contribution of Green Manufacturing, Green Distribution, and Reverse Logistics on the success of GSM implementation so that companies must always pay attention to the facilities and related policies to improve the performance of those variables.

The influence of eco-design, green information systems, green manufacturing, and green purchasing on manufacturing performance Pages 1045-1058 PDF Download PDF

Authors: Florencia Angela Wungkana, Hotlan Siagian, Zeplin Jiwa Husada Tarigan

doi 10.5267/j.ijdns.2023.6.001

๐Ÿ”‘ Keywords: Eco-design, Green information system, Green manufacturing, Green purchasing, Manufacturing performance

Abstract:
Companies today strive to integrate manufacturing processes with the environment to strike a balance. This study aims to examine the impact of green implementation for companies on the performance of manufacturing companies. Data was collected using Google Forms distributed online to the manufacturing companies domiciled in East Java. The criterion for the companies is that they have been committed to implementing a green approach to the production process, procurement of environmentally friendly raw materials, and green products. The partial least square technique analyzed data from as many as 115 respondents, with the position as senior staff level and higher, who have worked for at least two years and are permanent employees. The results showed that the implementation of eco-design has an impact on green purchasing and green manufacturing. Eco-design and green information systems implemented by the company can improve manufacturing performance by producing adequate overall product quality, and the number of products produced varies according to market demand. Therefore, the green information system affects green manufacturing and purchasing in manufacturing companies. Therefore, green manufacturing and green purchasing can impact manufacturing performance. The research results contribute to practitioners, especially top management, in committing to implementing Green which affects the performance of manufacturing companies. The theoretical contribution of the research is to enrich green supply chain management and sustainable performance for manufacturing companies.

Evaluation and measurement of performance, practice and pressure of green supply chain in Indian manufacturing industries Pages 363-374 PDF Download PDF

Authors: Tina Chaudhary, Arindam Kumar Chanda

doi 10.5267/j.uscm.2015.5.004

๐Ÿ”‘ Keywords: Environmental performance, Factor analysis, Green Manufacturing, Mean score, Practice and pressure

Abstract:
Green supply chain is a new concept in recent literature. The purpose of the study is to identify the importance of different factors related to green practice, performance and pressure during manufacturing in Indian manufacturing industries. The approach of this research includes in depth literature review, experts interviews and questionnaire surveys. The questionnaires are developed and data are collected through mail and two rounds of data collection were carried out to obtain more reliable responses. The major activities of the green supply chain; namely internal environmental management system, green packaging, green purchasing, eco designing, cooperation with customers, internal recovery, environmental, positive economic, negative economic, regulatory, competition are covered throughout the research. Factor analysis is performed using IBM SPSS 21 statistical software to understand the importance of green supply chain. Factor analysis is used to obtain the relative importance of various factors of green practice, green performance, and pressure. The collected data are analyzed by applying โ€œmean scoreโ€ method and the graphs are designed in SPSS software to compare the different factors.
