Abstract:
Products produced by manufacturing companies are always required to meet the requirements set by customers. Manufacturing companies need to maintain product quality by involving internal company components and external partners by using integrated information technology to become supply chain quality integration. All components in the supply chain flow must be committed to maintaining product quality in their respective roles. The research aims to ensure that technology information integration can impact firm performance through supply chain quality integration and resilience. Data collection on manufacturing companies in Java using purposive sampling found 162 companies that had received ISO certification. Respondents were determined to be employees at the middle management level and had worked for a minimum of 3 years. Data processing used partial least squares version 4 to answer all research hypotheses. The data processing results showed that information technology integration influenced supply chain quality integration by 0.588 and supply chain resilience by 0.523 and had no significant effect on increasing firm performance. Supply chain quality integration influences supply chain resilience by 0.288 and increases firm performance by 0.496. Lastly, Supply chain resilience has a positive and significant effect on increasing firm performance by 0.169. The research results provide a practical contribution to the company's top management in maintaining the role and function of technology information integration and the ISO system in maintaining supply chain quality integration. Theoretical contribution to enrich the theory of total quality management and supply chain management.

Abstract:
Integration with external supply chain partners can reduce the risk of process and product development disruptions. Hence, the companies should anticipate and prepare for any risk that could emerge in the supply chain network. This study aims to analyze the role of supply chain integration, information sharing, supply chain quality integration, and innovation systems in improving business performance in the manufacturing industry. The study surveyed manufacturing companies located in East Java, as many as 258 companies. Data was collected using questionnaires designed with a five-point Likert scale and distributed through Google Forms and company visits. 222 questionnaires were distributed through Google Forms, and 36 were distributed during company visits. The smartPLS software version 4.0 was used for descriptive analysis and hypothesis testing. The results showed that supply chain integration positively impacts information sharing, quality integration, and innovation systems. Information sharing significantly supports the implementation of quality integration and innovation systems. However, quality integration does not affect the innovation system. Likewise, innovation systems have no impact on improving business performance. Many manufacturing companies in East Java had not done innovation systems appropriately after the COVID-19 disruption as the company still focused on current processes and products to maintain company sustainability. Furthermore, information sharing, and supply chain quality integration significantly improve business performance. The results of this study could contribute to managers building close partnerships with external parties to maintain the quality of processes and products. Business owners must also consider using the latest technology for process and product innovation. These findings enrich the current supply chain management theory, particularly with quality integration and innovation systems.

Keywords: Green employee behavior, Green operation, Green purchasing, Internet of things

Abstract:
Many people are aware of taking care of the global environment, so they demand environmentally friendly business activities. The government also has responded to the commotion by requiring companies to produce friendly and safe products or services to their customers. Hotel industries react to it by implementing the concept of green hotels. The purpose of this study is to examine whether the Internet of Things, strategic green purchasing and green operation have impacted green employee behavior in star-hotels in East Java. Eighty-two (82) questionnaires were distributed, but only 62 questionnaires were valid, with a response rate of 75.60 %. SEM-PLS (Structural Equation Modelling Partial Least Square) was used to analyze the data. The results show that the Internet of Things (IoT) has a significant impact on green hotel operation, with the T-statistic value of 0.378. green purchasing has a significant impact on green hotel operation, with the T-statistic value of 0.545, and green employee behavior, with the T-statistic value of 0.346. The Internet of things (IoT) has no significant impact on green employee behavior directly but through green hotel operation. The use of energy efficiency and the existence of good waste management as indicators of green hotel operation has an impact on green employee behavior of 0.346.

DOI: 10.5267/j.uscm.2021.9.010

Keywords: Supply chain practice, Upstream integration, Downstream integration, Internal integration, Green performance

Abstract:
The company builds communication and collaboration with suppliers and customers to increase competitiveness in the supply chain flow. The organization's ability to involve suppliers and customers in business activities to achieve efficiency and effectiveness is one of the objectives of supply chain practice. The distribution of questionnaires directly to hotel practitioners was 25 respondents, and 65 respondents obtained the distribution of google form links. The results showed that supply chain practices with supplier relationship management and quality information sharing activities could increase internal and upstream integration and not directly impact downstream integration. Internal integration with data integration activities accurately and coordination between functions on an ongoing basis can affect upstream and downstream integration and green hotel performance. Upstream integration and downstream integration with joint decision activities and planning synchronization with external parties can directly impact green hotel performance. They were increasing the market share and image of the hotel with the implementation of caring for the environment. This research contributes to hotel practitioners adopting practical supply chains in building internal and external integration to increase competitiveness and theoretical contribution to developing supply chain theory and green performance.

The role of managerial capability on operational performance through supply chain digitalization and adaptability Pages 447-460 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: Hotlan Siagian, Ruth Srininta Tarigan, Widjojo Suprapto, Sautma Ronni Basana, Zeplin Jiwa Husada Tarigan, Saida Farhanah Sarkam Sarkam

DOI: 10.5267/j.ijdns.2025.9.007

Keywords: Leadership capability, Supply chain digitalization, Supply chain adaptability, Operational performance

Abstract:
Changes in the global business environment constrain companies to adopt digital technology to enhance their performance and competitiveness. This study aims to analyze the role of managerial capability on operational performance through supply chain digitalization and supply chain adaptability in manufacturing companies in Indonesia. Managerial capability is a key factor that enables organizations to design effective strategies, allocate resources efficiently, and foster internal collaboration and external partnerships. The study has distributed questionnaires to 117 respondents from various middle and top managerial functions within the manufacturing company. The questionnaire was designed using a five-point Likert scale and distributed offline and online using a Google Form link. Data analysis employed Partial Least Squares – Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to examine the outer model and inner model. The results indicate that managerial capability has a significant impact on supply chain digitalization and supply chain adaptability, but does not directly affect operational performance. Instead, the effect of managerial capability on operational performance is mediated by supply chain adaptability and the combination of supply chain digitalization and adaptability. Supply chain digitalization plays a crucial role in enhancing supply chain adaptability, ultimately leading to a positive impact on operational performance. These findings confirm that supply chain digitalization not only increases the speed of information flow and transparency but also strengthens the company's ability to adapt to market dynamics. The practical implications of this research are the need for manufacturing companies to continuously develop managerial competencies that support digital technology investments, strengthen an adaptive organizational culture, and foster synergy between internal and external functions. For academics, this research provides a conceptual contribution in explaining the mediating relationship between managerial capabilities, supply chain digitalization, supply chain adaptability, and operational performance in the era of digital transformation.
