The objective of this paper is to assess the factors affecting the lawyers’ motivation in Vietnam through the Emotional Intelligence factor and the factors affecting Lawyer’s performance. To accomplish this goal, we conducted a survey for half a year and analyzed data on 960 lawyers, then used SPSS 22 and Smart PLS 3.0 software to analyze the data. The results show that all six factors positively impact Emotional Intelligence. Emotional Intelligence both positively and positively impact Lawyer’s Motivation and Lawyer’s Performance. At the same time Lawyer’s Motivation has a statistically significant positive impact on Lawyer’s Performance. Finally, the results of multi-group testing between male and female lawyers are statistically different. From the research results, we propose a few solutions to improve motivation and work efficiency for lawyers in Vietnam.

This paper examined the relationship between job stress and job performance, along with the moderating effect of emotional intelligence (EI) and perceived organizational support (POS) among employees in the Istanbul financial sector. 564 employees and their 78 immediate supervisors were surveyed. The findings of this study suggest that job stress was negatively associated with job per-formance, where EI and POS were able to reduce the effect of stress on job performance. The re-sults largely support the significant impact of job stress on job performance, moderated through EI and POS as hypostasized. This paper demonstrates the important role of the job stress on job per-formance which contributes to conceptual understanding of organizational efficiency. The study has used self-reports- as well as supervisor reports to study the effects of job stress on organizational performance.

This study examines the predictive factors of job performance involving work stress, social support and emotional intelligence. Using two stage cluster random sampling, data were collected from 424 police in Selangor, who responded to Police Stress Questionnaire (PSQ), Job Content Questionnaire (JCQ), Emotional Intelligence Self-Description Inventory (EISDI) and Formal Performance Appraisals. The findings show that work stress, social support and emotional intelligence were significantly correlated with police job performance. In addition, regression analysis reveals that emotional intelligence was the most significant predictor of job performance. Implication of this study indicates the important of emotional intelligence in enhancing job performance among police per-sonnel in Selangor. The paper concludes by highlighting future research directions which can offer a more comprehensive study in predicting job performance particularly in the context of Malaysia.

This study aims to evaluate the impact of effective emotional intelligence on the work of auditors in Ho Chi Minh City, Ho Chi Minh. The authors conducted a survey for 355 auditors at companies and organizations operating in the field of auditing. The results show that there were 4 factors of emotional intelligence that affect job performance, arranged in the following sequence: (1) Perception of emotions, (2) Positive thinking with emotions, (3) Understand emotions, (4) Control emotions. This is the basis for the authors to give some implications to improve the emotional intelligence characteristics of auditors towards work efficiency.

Can artificial intelligence networks promote extremism awareness through social intelligence and emotional intelligence? This research contributes to this question in the context of Saudi Arabia. This study defines a model of a cooperative process through an artificial intelligence network, based on knowledge exchange, to generate a high level of extremism awareness and social intelligence. Four main variables were adopted, developed, defined, and measured: artificial intelligence networks, social intelligence, emotional intelligence, and extremism awareness. We fixed attributes for contextualized interactions through a network platform, between professionals and non-professionals, against extremism. The application of artificial intelligence in such platforms lets members share reliable information to combat extremism more effectively. The findings demonstrate that network centrality, network scale, relationship strengths, relationship stability, and reciprocity developed through artificial intelligence networks stimulate extremism awareness by developing social awareness. Emotional intelligence also seems to be important. It moderates the link between platform users and extremism awareness. It facilitates situational and contextual awareness to define appropriate behavior.

This paper presents an empirical investigation to study the roles of emotional intelligence (EI) and job satisfaction (JS) on employees’ organizational citizenship behavior (OCB). The study is performed among 140 randomly selected employees who worked for an Iranian bank in province of Karaj in 2014. The study uses the questionnaire developed by Organ (1998) [Organ, D. (1988). Organizational citizenship behavior: The good soldier syndrome. Lexington, MA: Lexington Books.] to measure organizational citizenship behavior (OCB). To measure emotional intelligence, Cyberia Shrink emotional intelligence quiz is employed. Finally, to measure job satisfaction, a revised version of the questionnaire introduced by Smith et al. (1969) [Smith, P. C. , Kendall, L. M., & Hulin, C. L. (1969). The Measurement of Satisfaction in Work and Retirement. Chicago: Rand McNally.] is implemented. The results of Pearson correlation have indicated that there were some positive and meaningful relationships between EI as well as JS with OCB. In addition, the results of Stepwise regression have indicated that there were some positive and meaningful relationship between all components of EI, JS with OCB.

Identifying factors that contribute to academic achievement is important. Some studies suggest a direct correlation between emotional intelligence, self-esteem and academic achievement, but others disagree about any direct relationship. This study investigates the relationship between emotional intelligence, self-esteem and academic achievement. The sample consists of 300 university students who were selected through random sampling. Bar-on emotional Intelligence questionnaire and self-esteem test pop as well as the mean scores of students were used as academic achievement. To analyze research data, descriptive and inferential statistics were used. The results of data analysis show that emotional intelligence and self-esteem had no significant relationship with achievement. The findings also show that emotional intelligence was not different between male and female students, but the self-esteem of female students was more than male students. Therefore in considering effective factors in academic achievement just psychological constructs such as emotional intelligence, self- esteem cannot be stressed.

This study aims to analyze the influence of intellectual intelligence, emotional intelligence, spiritual intelligence and gender on ethical behavior. The study is conducted on Auditors who worked in KAP in the provinces of Bali and East Java with a total sample of 53 respondents. Data analysis in this study uses multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study prove that the variables of intellectual intelligence, emotional intelligence, spiritual intelligence and gender had positive effects on ethical behavior.

Emotional intelligence is very critical to the managerial effectiveness. The present study intends to explore the relationships between emotional intelligence and the three roles such as, interpersonal, informational, and decision of managerial effectiveness. Emotional intelligence is measured by using the Emotional Quotient Index (Rahim et al., 2002) [Rahim, M., Psenicka, C., Polychroniou, P., Zhao, J., Yu, C., Chan, K., Susana, K., Alves, M., Lee, C., Rahman, M.S., Ferdausy, S., & Wyk, R. (2002). A model of emotional intelligence and conflict management strategies: a study in seven countries. International Journal of Organizational Analysis, 10(4), 302-326.] while managerial effectiveness is assessed by using Tsui’s (1984) scale [Tsui, A.S. (1984). A role set analysis of managerial reputation. Organizational Behavior and Human Performance, 34, 64-96.]. Data were collected by distributing self-administered questionnaires among the working MBA students using a convenience sampling technique. Respondents are asked to rate their emotional intelligence and managerial effectiveness scales. Finally 127 usable responses are received and, then, analyzed by using the descriptive statistics, bivariate correlation, and regression analysis. Analysis shows that emotional intelligence was positively related with interpersonal role, informational role, and decision role. The main implication is that emotional intelligence could enhance managerial effectiveness guiding the managers, academics, and professionals. The limitations are the sample size and the sampling technique which might limit the generalizability of the findings. Future directions are also discussed.

This study examines the emotional intelligence (EI) of nurses by differentiating inter-personal and intra-personal dimensions, and explores the measures taken by them to maintain emotional stability. Further, it investigates the relationship of demographic factors (age, gender and year of experience) of nurses with their emotional stability. The case organization is a well performing private hospital located closer to the metropolitan city. Study collects data through both quantitative (survey) and qualitative means (discussion, observation, and interviews) using a sample of 40 nurses selected conveniently from different ranks. The study finds that the level of EI of nurses in case hospital is slightly high, and their inter-personal skills are higher than intra-personal skills. They maintain emotional stability by means of emotion gaps, emotional shifts and sharing. Findings suggest that both inter-personal and intra-personal dimensions of EI will not be equally important for nurses in dealing with patients, and the level of EI required in the job is not equal among different ranks of nurses.
