This study investigates the impact of liquidity on bank profitability. Particularly, bank profitability is measured by return on assets (ROA) while liquid assets to total assets (LATA) and total loans to total deposits (TLTD) are indicators of bank liquidity. A panel data of 26 Vietnamese commercial banks are obtained over the period 2013-2018. The GMM estimation is adopted to test the significant effect of liquidity on profitability of Vietnamese commercial banks. The results reveal that profitability (ROA) was negatively influenced by liquid asset ratio (LATA) and positively correlated to loan-to-deposit ratio (TLTD). Further, bank profitability was also affected by macroeconomic control variables like economic growth (EG) and inflation (INF). The results are not only essential for bank managers but also provide scholars a valuable reference.

This paper presents a study on the structural performance of a modified shear-head assembly for edge steel column embedded in reinforced concrete slab. The structural performance was investigated in terms of punching shear capacity of the reinforced concrete flat slab. The study consisted of a laboratory punching shear test on the contra-flexure bound slab of dimension 1060mm × 1250mm by 130mm thick in a reactant test frame using a 500kN load cell. Results of the experimental study was validated using finite element based numerical method. Both experimental and numerical results show that increase in tensile strength of concrete, increases punching shear capacity of the connection. It was also observed that punching shear failure of the connection depended largely on concrete shear strength. This study has also revealed that punching shear occurs when concrete shear strength is reached, irrespective of the robustness of the shear-head connection.

In this era of industrialization, there is an increase rate of e-logistic services, which has raised the necessity to pay more attention on e-logistic customer satisfaction. E-logistic services spread so rapidly worldwide which overlook the significant segment of customer satisfaction. Therefore, the prime objective of the current research study is to develop a comprehensive framework for e-logistics customer satisfaction. Various studies highlighted the area of e- logistic customer satisfaction, however, in a rare case, literature formally documented the problem of e-logistic customer satisfaction. Hence, less attention has been paid to the aspect of customer satisfaction in e-logistic. To address this gap, four hypotheses are proposed concerning the relationship of low distribution charges (LDC), low transit time (LTT), effective payment method (EPM), information technology (IT) and e-logistic customer satisfaction. An e-mail survey was preferred, and questionnaires were distributed by using simple random sampling technique. The three hundred (300) questionnaires were distributed among the e-logistic users. The results of the current study found that low distribution charges, low transit time, effective payment method and information technology had a positive significant relationship with e-logistic customer satisfaction. Furthermore, information technology found main contributory element between effective payment method and e-logistic customer satisfaction. This study is contributing to the body of knowledge by developing a comprehensive framework to solve various e-logistic problems. Hence, the current study is helpful for e-logistic companies to mitigate e-logistic customer satisfaction problems.

This study aims to investigate the technology acceptance and purchase intention for Third Generation (3G) technology in Pakistan’s telecom sector. In such respect, Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) has been used to find the effects of the independent variables (Perceived Usefulness, Perceived Ease of Use, Perceived Value, Perceived Enjoyment, Personal Innovativeness and Price) on dependent variable (purchase intention). The study population consisted of smartphone users among Millennials in district Haripur-a region in transition towards urbanization. 200 respondents provided the useable data. The results of the study show that perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived value, perceived enjoyment, personal innovativeness, and price have a significant and positive relationship with purchase intention which validates the growing acceptance of advanced technologies in such regions.

Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) have a central role in the Indonesian economy. SMEs are a driver of the Indonesian economy and non-oil exports and have a significant role in absorbing labor. The SME sector in Indonesia generally has several obstacles, one of which is marketing constraints. The ability to build and communicate brands to customers tends to be low, so it has not been able to bind customers and affect the marketing performance of SMEs. This ability during the pandemic has worsened, as can be seen from the deteriorating marketing performance of SMEs. This study attempts to fill the research gap between digital marketing and marketing performance. This study offers the concept of Brand Articulating Capability to bridge the gap between Digital Marketing in increasing Marketing Performance. Three hypotheses were developed and tested in a sample frame of 230 SMEs in South Sulawesi, Indonesia. The analysis was carried out using Structural Equation Modelling to test the research. The study's findings support the model using the following variables: Digital Marketing has a significant effect on Marketing Performance, Digital Marketing has a significant impact on Brand Articulating Capability, and the Brand Articulating Capability variable has a mediating and strategic role in improving marketing performance.

The purpose of this study was to partially analyze the effect of competence, compensation, and workshop on employee performance and the effect of competence, compensation and workshop on employee performance mediated by a prime service at the Public Health Service or Pusat Kesehatan Masyarakat (Puskesmas) in Indragiri Hulu Regency. The sample of this study was 127 employees of the Puskesmas in Indragiri Hulu Regency. The sample was taken by means of probability sampling in the form of simple random sampling using a lottery technique. Closed questionnaires were used in this study then the data taken from the questionnaires were processed using SmartPLS 3.0. The results of this study were: (1) competence has a significant effect on employee performance variable, (2) compensation has a significant effect on employee performance variable, (3) workshop has a significant effect on employee performance variable, (4) competence has a significant effect on employee performance variables mediated by a prime service, (5) compensation has a significant effect on employee performance variables mediated by a prime service, and (6) workshop has a significant effect on employee performance variables mediated by a prime service.

Clustering is a popular data mining technique for grouping a set of objects into clusters so that objects in one cluster are very similar and objects in different clusters are quite distinct. K-means (KM) algorithm is an efficient data clustering method as it is simple in nature and has linear time complexity. However, it has possibilities of convergence to local minima in addition to dependence on initial cluster centers. Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) algorithm is a stochastic optimization method inspired by intelligent foraging behavior of honey bees. In order to make use of merits of both algorithms, a hybrid algorithm (MABCKM) based on modified ABC and KM algorithm is proposed in this paper. The solutions produced by modified ABC are treated as initial solutions for the KM algorithm. The performance of the proposed algorithm is compared with the ABC and KM algorithms on various data sets from the UCI repository. The experimental results prove the superiority of the MABCKM algorithm for data clustering applications.

In most of the published articles dealing with optimal order quantity model under permissible delay in payments, it is assumed that the supplier only put forwards fully permissible delay in payments if retailer ordered a bulky sufficient quantity otherwise permissible delay in payments would not be permitted. Practically, in competitive market environments and recession phases of business, every supplier wants to attract more retailers by the help of providing good facilities for trading. Necessity of order quantity may put a negative pressure on supplier’s demand. So, within the economic order quantity (EOQ) framework the main purpose of this paper is to broaden this extreme case by introducing a new credit policy, Flexible Trade Credit Policy (FTCP), for supplier which can help him provide more free space of trading to retailers. This policy, after adopting by suppliers, not only provides attractive trading environments for retailers but also enhances the demand of supplier due to the large number of new retailers. Here in, under this policy, an inventory system is investigated as a cost minimization problem to establish the retailer’s optimal inventory cycle time and optimal order quantity. Three theorems are established to describe and to lighten optimal replenishment policies for the retailer. Finally, numerical examples are considered to illustrate all these theorems and managerial insights are given based on considered numerical examples.

In this paper, a method for determining the limit load surface of fiber-reinforced nonlinear composites such as elasto-plastic composite is proposed. Using the stress approach of the homogeneous theory and the linear matching method (LMM), the limit load surface of the fiber-reinforced composite is numerically evaluated in the π-plane, and at the same time, two limit analyses determine the approximate Hill's anisotropic yield criterion for the limit load surface of the fiber-reinforced composite. The Hill's yield criterion determined by 2 limit analyses becomes the inscribed ellipse of the limit load surface evaluated numerically in the π- plane, and the limit load surface can be evaluated more accurately by the two tangent lines perpendicular to the minor axis of the inscribed ellipse and the circumscribed circle of the inscribed ellipse. This means that the limit load surface of fiber-reinforced nonlinear composite can be completely determined by only 2 limit analyses. In addition, it is found that the limit load surface is related to the equivalent strength surface of composite, and that it satisfies the Reuss and Voigt bounds.

It is argued that excessive social media use can lead to an addiction. This study compares two proposed research models. The first model examines how social media addiction, narcissism, and self-esteem affect tourism addiction. Whilst the second model studies the impact of narcissism and self-esteem on social media and tourist addiction. There were also two research models proposed here. Data collection was obtained in Jakarta, with 214 participants chosen by using the convenient sampling method. Exploratory factor analysis and structural equation models were used to process the data. Social media addiction and narcissism affect self-esteem, while social media addiction and tourist addiction affect self-esteem. This research combines the study of addiction, modern media, and cyber marketing.
