Indolylimidazole compounds that contain both indole and imidazole rings have shown various biological and pharmacological activities. These indolylimidazole compounds have been synthesized and extracted from the plants. In this paper, we have reviewed biological activities of natural and synthesized indolylimidazoles and their various synthetic methods. In recent time, the substituted indolylimidazole derivatives have synthesized and reported in the presence of different kind of the catalysts such as strong protic acid HNO₃@nano SiO₂, Zn²⁺@KSF and acetic acid and Amberlyst A-15. This review paper is divided into two categories bases on bioactivities of natural and synthesized indolylimidazole derivatives.

O-Acyl substituted derivatives of 3-benzyl-5-(2-hydroxyethyl)-4-methyl-1,3-thiazolium chloride which is a structural analog of vitamin B₁ were synthesized and evaluated towards acetylcholinesterase and butyrylcholinesterase in vitro. The inhibition properties of the O-substituted compounds depend on nature of substituents at position 3 and 5 of the thiazolium ring. Some of the thiazolium salts showed high potency in the inhibition of only one of the two enzymes. The selective effects of these inhibitors are governed by substituent at position 5. Kinetic studies and molecular docking simulation were performed for elucidating mechanisms of enzyme-inhibitor complex formation.

A series of novel 5-Bromo-3-iodo-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-b]pyridine linked various sulfonamide derivatives 8a-8j poly functionalized were designed and synthesized in moderate to good yield. A starting with iodination of 5-Bromo-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-b]pyridine 5 with iodine produced intermediate 5-Bromo-3-iodo-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-b]pyridine 6 with the reaction of various sulfonamide derivatives 7a-7j via copper catalyzed coupling reaction produced targeted compounds8a-8j. The isolated compounds were accepted by spectral and elemental analysis. The compounds 8a,8c,8d, and 8i were excellent active against Gram-positive and gram-negative bacterial strain compare to streptomycin standard drug. All synthesized compounds showed moderate to good antioxidant properties with used DPPH and Superoxide radical scavenging assay, Compounds 8c, 8g, and 8i exerted significant antioxidant scavenging activity for the DPPH radical.

This paper is interested in mechanism of lactic acid (LA) adsorption and dehydration into acrylic acid (AA) over tin and iron beta zeolite (Sn- and Fe-BEA) catalysts. The electronic structure of clusters was calculated by ab initio density functional theory (DFT) method. The M₂Si₁₂O₃₉H₂₂ (hierarchical zeolite) and M₂Si₂₂O₆₄H₃₂ (ideal zeolite) clusters (M=Al, Si, Sn) were used in the LA dehydration reaction. The stabilization of the dimeric complex M-O_b-M (where M= Sn or Fe) in the BEA, ideal and hierarchical structure, was investigated. Possible modes of interaction of lactic acid with different cations (Si, Al, Fe or Sn) in the BEA zeolite framework as well as with added iron and tin dimers were considered. The interaction of lactic acid was only observed above the M-O_b-M dimer. The direct mechanism of lactic acid dehydration into acrylic acid was found over metal M-O_b-M dimers deposited at the BEA zeolite.

Obtained by the interaction of 2-amino-3,3-dichloroacrylonitrile and chlorosulphonyl isocyanate (Z)-(5-(dichloromethylene)-2-oxoimidazolidin-4-ylidene)sulfamoyl chloride reacts easily with excess of the aliphatic amine to form new (Z)-N-(5-(dichloromethylene)-2-oxoimidazolidin-4-ylidene)-N'-substituted sulfonamides. According to the National Cancer Institute (USA) examinations, two of the six synthesized sulfonamides showed a high anticancer activity.

An environmentally benign aqueous protocol for the synthesis of novel 2-((5-(4-methoxybenzylidene)-4-oxo-4,5-dihydrothiazol-2-yl)amino)substituted acid by using potassium carbonate as a base has been achieved. These ultrasound irradiation and conventional technique reaction proceed efficiently in water in the absence of organic solvent. In comparison with conventional methods, our protocol is convenient and offers several advantages, such as shorter reaction time, higher yields, milder conditions and environmental friendliness.

The derivatives of 2,6-dihydroxyacetophenone[4]arene were synthesized via one-step in the presence of base catalyzed cyclocondensation reaction of equimolar volumes of different aliphatic aldehydes and 2,6-dihydroxyacetophenone. All the compounds were purified by column chromatography and characterized by ¹H-NMR Spectroscopy, ¹³C-NMR Spectroscopy, IR Spectroscopy, and Mass spectrometry techniques. The compounds were provided with good yield and can be successfully useful for various amino acid detection because of the four ketone groups in 2,6-Dihydroxyaceto-phenone[4]arene were able to react with the amino group of amino acid to give a stable product formation. It was caused by the intermolecular hydrogen bonded between the two groups, ketone and carboxylic group of amino acid. This recognition of amino acid was carried out in UV-vis spectroscopic technique.

A Convenient and green synthesis of 4H-pyran derivatives via one-pot multicomponent reaction of aromatic aldehydes, malononitrile and ethyl acetoacetate using KOH loaded CaO as a catalyst under solvent free condition is reported. The morphology of the catalyst has been characterized by XRD and TEM. This protocol have numerous advantages like lesser reaction time, environment friendly, low cost, easy to separate, and provide higher yield. The synthesized compounds have been characterized and confirmed by different spectroscopic techniques like ¹H NMR, ¹³C NMR, FT- IR, and LC- MS.

The present study was designed to evaluate the amino acid profiles and anti-nutritional contents of six wild vegetables viz. Cardamine hirsuta, Melothria perpusilla, Cryptolepis sinensis, Persicaria chinensis, Lippia javanica and Polygonum perfoliatum from Assam, India. The total amino acid detected was found the highest in P. chinensis as 25.92 mg/g dry weight (DW) followed by P. perfoliatum (19.68 mg/g DW) and M. perpusilla (14.57 mg/g DW), and the lowest amino acid was observed in L. javanica (0.62 mg/g DW). However, the highest non-essential amino acids (NEAA) were detected in P. perfoliatum (3.89 mg/g DW). Among the NEAA, aspartic acid and glutamic acid were detected in all the six plant species which ranged from 0.01 to 0.33 mg/g DW and 0.02 to o.75 mg/g DW, respectively. In this study, the highest concentration of essential amino acids (EAA) was detected in C. hirsuta (1.72 mg/g DW) followed by M. perpusilla (0.95 mg/g DW) and P. chinensis (0.67 mg/g DW). Besides EAA and NEAA, some other amino acids such as phosphoserine, OH-proline, amino adipic acid, phosphoenolamine, and taurine are the most common which were detected. In the study, variable amounts of anti-nutritional contents were found and discussed herein.

New ruthenium(III) complexes with 3-(Benzothiazol-2-yliminomethyl)-phenol (HL) ligand have been synthesized and characterized with the aid of elemental analysis, IR, electronic, and electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopic techniques. The binding mode of the ligand and complexes with DNA and their ability to bind DNA have been investigated by UV-vis absorption titration. In addition, the ligand and complexes have been subjected to antioxidant activity tests which showed that HL and its ruthenium(III) complexes possess significant scavenging effect against DPPH and OH radicals. Cytotoxic activities of the ligand and ruthenium(III) complexes showed that the ruthenium(III) complexes exhibited more effective cytotoxic activity against HeLa and MCF-7 cells than the corresponding ligand.
