Abstract:
The Company should collaborate with supply chain members to support business process activities and increase competitiveness. Company collaboration with suppliers is essential in supporting the adoption of supply chain practices and total quality management to pursue product innovation and enhance business performance. This study investigates the role of supplier-buyer relationships in enhancing business performance through supply chain management practice, total quality management, and product innovation. The research surveyed 150 companies implementing total quality management with ISO certification in East Java. Data processing employs partial least squares using SmartPLS software version 4.0. The research found that supplier-buyer relationships positively and significantly influence supply chain practice by 0.800, total quality management by 0.438, and product innovation by 0.293. The company's ability to implement supply chain practices positively affects total quality management by 0.443, product innovation by 0.206, and business performance by 0.263. Total quality management adopted by manufacturing companies by obtaining ISO certification has an impact on increasing product innovation by 0.412 and business performance by 0.276. The company's ability to build a supply chain strategy to produce innovative products affects business performance by 0.446. The research results contribute practically to managers who build coordination with supply chain members, especially purchasing and marketing managers, to be able to read the capabilities and advantages of external partners to be communicated internally in the company—theoretical contribution in enriching supply chain strategy theory in increasing competitiveness.

Abstract:
Transparency in the supply chain is crucial for enhancing integration, efficiency, and responsiveness, but it also carries the risk of strategic information leakage. Management commitment and the effective use of digital technology are essential to creating safe and transparent environments. This study aims to investigate the impact of management commitment on the adoption of information technology, supply chain transparency, and practices that enhance operational performance. Data collection was conducted at 221 manufacturing companies that have adopted information technology as their primary system. Testing the research instrument using SmartPLS version 4 data analysis showed a good goodness-of-fit model. The study's results indicate that management commitment has a significant influence on the adoption of information technology and supply chain practices. However, its impact on supply chain transparency is less pronounced. The resulting operational performance is not directly determined by supply chain transparency, but rather by the adoption of information technology and the implementation of effective supply chain practices. The adoption of information technology has an impact on supply chain practices through supply chain transparency. The results of this study contribute practically to company management by enabling the update of information technology and the implementation of supply chain practices and transparency, thereby facilitating continuous evaluation and control of the company system. The results of this study contribute to enriching the theory of digitalization in the manufacturing industry's supply chain.

The impact of supply chain practice on green hotel performance through internal, upstream, and downstream integration Pages 169-180 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: Sautma Ronni Basana, Widjojo Suprapto, Fransisca Andreani, Zeplin Jiwa Husada Tarigan

DOI: 10.5267/j.uscm.2021.9.010

Keywords: Supply chain practice, Upstream integration, Downstream integration, Internal integration, Green performance

Abstract:
The company builds communication and collaboration with suppliers and customers to increase competitiveness in the supply chain flow. The organization's ability to involve suppliers and customers in business activities to achieve efficiency and effectiveness is one of the objectives of supply chain practice. The distribution of questionnaires directly to hotel practitioners was 25 respondents, and 65 respondents obtained the distribution of google form links. The results showed that supply chain practices with supplier relationship management and quality information sharing activities could increase internal and upstream integration and not directly impact downstream integration. Internal integration with data integration activities accurately and coordination between functions on an ongoing basis can affect upstream and downstream integration and green hotel performance. Upstream integration and downstream integration with joint decision activities and planning synchronization with external parties can directly impact green hotel performance. They were increasing the market share and image of the hotel with the implementation of caring for the environment. This research contributes to hotel practitioners adopting practical supply chains in building internal and external integration to increase competitiveness and theoretical contribution to developing supply chain theory and green performance.
