Assessing the influence of supply chain collaboration value innovation, market demand, and competitive advantage on improving the performance of ceramic SMEs Pages 777-786 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: I Nyoman Normal, Made Setini, I Gede Cahyadi Putra

DOI: 10.5267/j.uscm.2023.1.002

Keywords: Supply Chain Collaboration, Value Innovation, Market Demand, Competitive Advantage, Performance

Abstract:
MSMEs in the ceramics industry are still experiencing a difficult period even though they have entered the post-pandemic period. Will competitive advantage be created from supply chain collaboration in terms of obtaining resource information which will ultimately create innovation and increase market demand? This research involved 200 ceramic MSMEs in Bali with the condition that the perpetrators had been running their business for more than one year, analyzed with SEM-PLS with the SmartPls processing tool. The results show that the relationship between market demands has a positive effect on competitive advantage and will give a boost to the performance of ceramics SMEs. While the collaborative relationship of innovation value does not have a positive effect on performance and competitive advantage because so far ceramic SMEs, especially photocatalysts, are still relatively new and are still running their business in one small group and no organization has yet been formed to support the acquisition of information related to the innovations to be carried out. This research also shows that the mediation of competitive advantage is the perfect mediation in creating market demand in improving the performance of MSMEs.

Integration of information technology capabilities in generating small and medium enterprise performance Pages 843-854 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: I Gede Cahyadi Putra, Ni Putu Yuria Mendra, Luh Gde Novitasari

DOI: 10.5267/j.uscm.2023.3.010

Keywords: Adoption, Assimilation, Financial Performance, Operational Performance

Abstract:
The role of information technology (IT) during the Covid 19 pandemic has made everything in business easy. The role of technology in business during a pandemic also makes it easier for entrepreneurs to navigate buying and selling activities and services. Technology makes it easy to shorten time saving business costs, as in business financial records that make one financial report must record everything manually with technology done automatically with the help of accounting software. Research purposes to test resources-based view theory in relation to the implementation of IT to produce operational performance and financial performance of small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The research was conducted on SMEs in Bali. The research method used to answer the research objectives uses a quantitative test approach Partial Least Square. Based on data analysis, it was found that the development of SME IT Adoption had an effect positive on IT Assimilation, but directly IT Adoption is not able to improve operational performance and financial performance. IT assimilation can improve the operational performance and financial performance of SMEs. Operational performance is not able to mediate the effect of IT adoption on the financial performance of SMEs. IT assimilation is a fully mediating variable in the relationship between IT and the operational performance and financial performance of SMEs in Bali. The results of the study show that IT resource management through a technology-based business competency model can succeed in realizing Organizational Capability that can be used to build business competitiveness if the organization or business unit that adopts it pre-determines IT integration in accordance with the vision, mission, and goals of the organization. This is very important to implement in an effort to adapt to uncertain business world conditions, such as when Covid 19 occurred.

DOI: 10.5267/j.msl.2020.5.042

Abstract:
The program to reduce plastic waste is supported by all sectors of businesses, through some efforts to prevent using plastic bags in every store shopping and prompt using better alternatives. This study aims to find out whether the application of the theory of planned behavior departs from the knowledge of the influence of environmental awareness and leads to interest in the use of reusable bags. Quantitative methods used in this study includes the determination of samples with non-probability techniques, namely purposive sampling. The research instrument was an online questionnaire of 300 respondents in Bali, who had never used a repetitive shopping bag. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling with the SmartPLS application. The application of the theory of planned behavior shows that testing knowledge of the environment and environmental stewardship gives a positive attitude and becomes a control behavior and interest in the use of reusable bag products. However, it is different from Subjective Norms which do not have a significant influence on the interest in using reusable bags. So, it is a concern for the government to always provide socialization, knowledge and environmental awareness about the importance of protecting the environment by using non-disposable shopping bags, and also business owners or marketing management to provide more reusable bags.

Social restrictions during the pandemic Covid-19 have direct impacts on the survival of Small and Medium Enterperises (SMEs), since every citizen limits his/her activities, schools, campuses are closed and residents are advised to remain silent and do work from home. The purpose of this study is to examine and analyze the effect of social capital, business strategies, and innovation capabilities on business success. The study was conducted in Bali, Indonesia City with 145 samples taken based on a purposive sampling method and data analysis was accomplished using SEM-PLS. The support of parents, family members and business partners raise the confidence of entrepreneurs to achieve business success.
