The objective of this study is to identify factors affecting the performance of the construction investment project management in Vietnam. The author conducted a survey at 458 small and medium sized enterprises in Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City. The author used SPSS 20.0 software for analysis, some analytical methods were used such as: descriptive statistical methods; Evaluate the reliability of Cronbach's Alpha reliability coefficient and Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) method. We calculated the average value of the scale to assess the influence of independent factors on the dependent variable. Multivariate regression analysis method was also used to test the suitability of the research model. The research results indicate that the effectiveness of construction investment project management in Vietnamese enterprises was affected by factors including (1) Consultants; (2) Investor; (3) Contractors; (4) Capital sources; (5) External factors and (6) Advantages in the implementation process of construction investment projects. Moreover, two factors, the advantages in the project implementation process and the external factors, had the most effects on the effectiveness of construction investment project management of small and medium enterprises in Vietnam.

This study aims to investigate the impact of integrating essential factors on Internet usage continuance intention in students’ context. The proposed model examines the influence of perceived enjoyment, perceived image, satisfaction, information value, and emotional value on Internet continuance intention. Additionally, it investigates the role of Internet addiction, satisfaction, and continuance intention on academic performance among university students. A survey questionnaire method was adopted to collect data from university students in Jordan. Data was collected from 450 voluntary participants, and the analysis was conducted using SPSS and AMOS. The analysis results show that perceived enjoyment, perceived image, information value, and emotional value have a significant positive influence on continuance intention of Internet use. Besides, the results show that continuance intention has a positive impact on satisfaction and Internet addiction. While continuance intention has a significant positive impact on students’ academic performance, and Internet addiction has a significant negative impact on students’ academic performance, the impact of satisfaction on academic performance was not supported. This study is the first to examine integrating of perceived enjoyment, perceived image, information value, and emotional value on Internet continuance usage. Furthermore, this study is also distinguished from other studies by investigating the negative impact of Internet addiction on students’ academic performance gap.

An approximated crack growth direction and coalescence of the multiple cracks were obtained for an aluminum alloy plate by the finite element approach (FEA). Self-similar as well as non-self-similar crack growths were observed based on relative position of multiple cracks. The FE predictions of crack growth direction are validated with an experimental results and good agreement is established. Typical numerical results are presented to examine the effect of changing the crack tip distance (S), crack offset distance (H) on crack growth direction and coalescence of a finite aluminum alloy aluminum plate. Just in time (JIT) philosophy has grown to a new high level since its evolution and has successfully been implemented in manufacturing. As it is universally accepted that manufacturing and maintenance cannot be managed as a separate function, the aim of the present study is to evaluate various elements of JIT to implement in maintenance sector which have high degree of importance in Global context. It is because now maintenance also plays an important role in optimization of business processes. Maintenance operations are much like manufacturing operations where both employ processes that add value to the basic input used to create the end products. JIT focuses on the processes, not the product. It can, therefore, be applied to any process in manufacturing or maintenance operations. For this, literature related to JIT usage and performance is reviewed. Thirty-eight elements are analyzed from sixty-five research papers of global context. With aid of theoretical analysis and brain storming with maintenance specialists of JIT elements who have implemented it for manufacturing industries, eighteen elements are selected to check the implementation of JIT philosophy in maintenance sector. Relative importance of such elements are also highlighted in the article.

This paper aims to shed light on whether the Merger & Acquisition (M&A) among several cases create values for Vietnam small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Using 48 months of actual data to compare the pre- and post- merger performance, the study evaluates the impacts of the M&A on business performance collected from HOSE stock exchange website. The result shows that out of 11 chosen key performance indicators (KPIs) and those selected firms only we have 2 KPIs with better results while 6 KPIs do not change and 3 KPIs are even worse after the M&A. In addition, the finding indicated that very few actions were implemented and hence unsurprisingly, the M&A outcomes did not really match with firms’ original expectations. From the theory and the actual results of the analysis, the study provides a number of practical areas that companies should focus on to increase the chance of success for their M&A.

Supply chain disruptions pose significant challenges to global economic stability, necessitating advanced predictive tools for effective risk management. As Machine Learning (ML) offers promising solutions for enhancing resiliency, this study investigates its applications in supply chain management. Utilizing a systematic literature review, we examined recent research to identify effective ML models and techniques, focusing on both supervised and unsupervised learning. Our analysis covered various industries to understand the adaptability and effectiveness of these models in mitigating supply chain risks. The results highlight the growing implementation of ML in anticipating disruptions, with supervised learning demonstrating superior predictive precision under specific conditions. At the same time, unsupervised approaches offer valuable insights in data-scarce scenarios. Context-specific data surfaced as crucial in model accuracy, underscoring the need for tailored approaches. This study concludes that integrating ML with current supply chain systems can significantly enhance operational resilience, advocating for continued exploration of novel data sources and interdisciplinary collaborative efforts.

YouTube and TikTok have gained increasing recognition as social network sites to support online knowledge acquisition, sharing, and application via social media platforms in the medical field. This study examines which aspect of TikTok and YouTube stimulates doctors, nurses, and any other YouTube and TikTok in the medical setting, to rely on them as sources of knowledge acquisition and sharing to keep their medical repertoire updated. A hybrid model is designed to investigate users’ acceptance of YouTube and TikTok as social media platforms. The model focuses on four main external factors: content richness, innovativeness, satisfaction, and enjoyment. These factors are connected with two TAM constructs which are perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness. The results have shown that both YouTube and TikTok are affected by PEOU, PU, personal innovativeness, flow theory, and content richness. Both social media networks provide up-to-date sources described as useful, enjoyable, and relevant. Nevertheless, the comparative results have shown that YouTube has deeply influenced users’ medical perception and knowledge compared to TikTok. It is created for the very mere purpose of socialization and self-expression. In contrast, YouTube is used for educational and non-educational purposes due to the type of uploaded content and time management. Therefore, TikTok developers and influencers should initiate highly specialized videos and create content that raises awareness of medical field issues.

Quality of blast preparation for rock beneficiation influences both on integrity of mineral stock in particular and in economical performances of enterprise operations in general. While rock processing for obtaining of crushed stone the yield of screenings is high, its amounts depend on rock strength properties. Investigation into the influence of drilling and blasting parameters on strength properties of blasted rocks is an urgent research and practical task for mining companies producing building stones. This article discusses results of full-scale experiment aimed at determination of strength of blasted rocks in shotpile with accounting for fracture zones as a function of rock massif saturation with energy of explosive substance.

In this study, a multi-product, multi-period and non-linear programming model is developed for production planning problem where demand is under uncertainty. The proposed study is designed for a real-world case study of chemicals production factory with 1 production line and 2 manual and automatic technologies. In manual technology, workers are working with 3 amateur, typical and professional skills in 2 typical and overtime working. Automatic technology in this system has n machines in which the repairing and maintenance of the machineries are also included. This system has n products and the products are life-limited and with diversity. The primary goal is to propose a model for improvement of the production planning and minimization of the production system costs. The products in high volume and various types are produced and they are stored in bottles as the final products. For different production periods, the human forces capacities are considered and the level of employment or forces dismissal are considered. The production process is forwarding and backward process is not acceptable; that is, it is not allowable to rework in this system. Delivering final product from stockpiles to the retailers is conducted using vehicles with limited capacity. To solve the model in larger space and because of the complexity of the model, meta-heuristic algorithm is used. Finally, it is concluded that due to covering most of the assumptions in perishable products production, the proposed model is closer to the real-world circumstances and reduces costs in production systems.

In the present study, the flexural behavior of concrete beams reinforced with longitudinal rebars made of glass fiber reinforced polymer composites (GFRP), is studied using finite element method. For this purpose, a number of concrete beams with square sections are modeled in ABAQUS. In all of the beams, four GFRP rebars with diameter of 12 mm, and 10 steel rebars with diameter of 8 mm are vertically used to prevent creating shear cracks in the beams. The beam no. 1 is without transverse rebar, beam no. 2 has a row of transverse rebar, which is placed at the bottom and in the plane of vertical rebars. Beam no. 3 has a row of transverse rebars that is placed at the top and in the plane of vertical rebars; and the beam no. 4 has two rows of transverse rebar at the top and bottom of the beam in the plane of vertical rebars. The beams are gradually loaded under up to 6 ton, and the amounts of displacement and strain at the middle of beams are compared together. The obtained results reveal that the force-displacement diagram of reinforced beams with composite rebars are almost linear until ultimate phase, and in all of the beams, adding transverse rebar leads to less deflection in the middle of the beam under an identical loading. Moreover, the load bearing capacity of beams containing transverse rebars, were higher than the other beams.
