The purpose of this research was to evaluate the degree of influence exercised by the Key Account Manager in the provisioning management in the main companies called Staple in Peru, during the events of COVID-19. The research was of type quantitative, cross-sectional and temporal, with a non-experimental design, using a multiple linear regression model and correlation analysis to determine the impact that exists between the variables. The data belongs to the Industrias San Miguel company, distributed in a weekly period from June 2019 to March 2021, which gives 88 observations. The results allow us to conclude that the Key Account Manager is an important manager of the supply of goods during the crisis caused by COVID-19 in staple companies.

This paper deals with buckling lengths of the heavy column with various end conditions, where both top and bottom ends are either free or hinged or clamped. Based on equilibrium equations of the buckled column element, the differential equation governing the buckled mode shape is derived. For solving the buckling length, the differential equation is integrated by the direct integration method and the buckling length is calculated by the determinant search method. The buckling lengths of this study agree well with those of references. The buckling lengths with various end conditions, buckled mode shapes and buckling stresses are presented.

Stochastic optimization algorithm provides a robust and efficient approach for solving complex real world problems. Backtracking Search Optimization Algorithm (BSA) is a new stochastic evolutionary algorithm and the aim of this paper is to introduce a hybrid approach combining the BSA and Quadratic approximation (QA), called HBSAfor solving unconstrained non-linear, non-differentiable optimization problems. For the validity of the proposed method the results are compared with five state-of-the-art particle swarm optimization (PSO) variant approaches in terms of the numerical result of the solutions. The sensitivity analysis of the BSA control parameter (F) is also performed.

This paper presents recent research, concerning some preliminary design guidelines to be applied in GFRP composite sandwich panels, for civil engineering applications. For more than a decade, the foundations of preliminary design of concrete, wood and steel structures, have been fully established in structural design codes and technical recommendations. Since FRP structures at the moment possess no standard design code, its preliminary design guidelines are nowhere to be found. This work pretends to fill this gap in knowledge, by providing simple and clear design guidelines to be applied in classical known GFRP composite sandwich panels, more specifically in home buildings. Just like in concrete structures, for GFRP structures one of the most unfavourable design state is the serviceability, mainly due to the long term deflection. Therefore, this long term deflection will be used to estimate the minimum span/height ratio necessary to “indirectly” verify the serviceability state. This is performed using an extensive parametric analysis: of the span beam model; type of materials; type of support; load levels; and geometrical properties. In this work in order to correctly estimate the flexural and shear deflection, the Carrera Unified Formulation is used, therefore no simplified shear correction factor is needed.

The technological era is a dilemma in the economic growth of a region. The policy of economic development, at least, contains two main objectives to be achieved, namely growth and equity. These two goals are usually in conflict with each other. That is, if growth reaches a high level, then equity reaches a decline so that the conscious effort to create a balance is one of the goals of development. This paper proposes a novel form of supplier selection involving the supply chain dyad as the buyer and the suppliers as sellers. The main proposed contribution is a multi-attribute decision hybrid protocol for supplier selection based on collaboration and negotiation, adapted to dyadic collaboration in a supply chain context. Suppliers and the purchasing dyad can reach an agreement on the details of the products simultaneously and exploit the preferences of the customer dyadic partner to enlarge the criteria choices of the products. For this, the proposed protocol combines a one-to-one bilateral dyadic collaboration protocol inside the purchasing dyad along with a one-to-many multi-bilateral bargaining protocol between the purchasing dyad and suppliers. Illustrative multi-agent simulation experiments were carried out to prove the effectiveness of the proposed protocol. The protocol implementation shows better negotiation results than the classic supplier selection process, along with expected higher customer partner satisfaction and a more embedded dyadic relationship.

Research on the internal audit function is relevant for improving the quality of governance in organizations. The internal auditor is an important element of government management in the context of realizing good governance by providing quality and effective audit results. The aim of this study is to examine the factors influencing (determinants) the effectiveness of the internal audit function in Indonesian local government organizations. The research samples were 137 respondents. This study used primary data in the form of a questionnaire. The hypothesis testing technique used Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) analysis. The results of statistical tests showed that independence, competence, and management support could increase the effectiveness of the internal audit function. However, this cooperative relationship does not moderate the influence of competence and management support on the effectiveness of internal audit. The practical implication of this study is that in order to increase the effectiveness of internal audit, internal auditors must uphold an attitude of independence, objectivity and freedom from conflicts of interest in carrying out their professional responsibilities. The practical value of this study also shows that to increase the effectiveness of public sector internal audit, internal and external auditors must increase cooperation to improve the effectiveness of internal audit, especially in discussion activities between internal and external auditors, communication between internal and external auditors, and activities to share working papers between internal and external auditors.

A note published by Chinta et al. (2016) [Chinta, S., Kommadath, R. & Kotecha, P. (2016) A note on multi-objective improved teaching–learning based optimization algorithm (MO-ITLBO). Information Science, 373, 337-350.] reported some impediments in implementation of MO-ITLBO algorithm. However, it is observed that their comments are based on incorrect understanding of TLBO, ITLBO and MO-ITLBO algorithms. Their raised issues are thoroughly addressed in this paper and it is proved that MO-ITLBO algorithm has no lacunae.

The existence of good corporate governance is expected to minimize the occurrence of earnings management practices when the company is in financial distress condition. This research aims to provide empirical evidence on the influence of financial distress on earnings management practices as well as the existence of good corporate governance projected by the proportion of independent commissioners and the proportion of audit committees in weakening the influence of financial distress on earnings management practices. The population of this study is property, real estate, and building construction sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2015-2019. Sampling techniques used are purposive sampling techniques and obtained samples as many as 185 samples. The earnings management tool used in this study was classification shifting. The data analysis techniques in this study used Eviews 10. The results of the analysis provide evidence that financial distress affects earnings management practices, while the proportion of independent commissioners is unable to moderate, and the audit committee strengthens the influence of financial distress on earnings management practices.

The hub location problem (HLP) is one of the strategic planning problems encountered in different contexts such as supply chain management, passenger and cargo transportation industries, and telecommunications. In this paper, we consider a reliable uncapacitated multiple allocation hub location problem under hub disruptions. It is assumed that every open hub facility can fail during its use and in such a case, the customers originally assigned to that hub, are either reassigned to other operational hubs or they do not receive service in which case a penalty must be paid. The problem is modeled as two-stage stochastic program and a metaheuristic algorithm based on the adaptive large neighborhood search (ALNS) is proposed. Extensive computational experiments based on the CAB and TR data sets are conducted. Results show the high efficiency of the proposed solution method.
