The indicators of success in macro development can be measured from the economic growth, which is reflected in changes in the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP). The factors which affect the economic growth are very complex. This study analyzes the economic growth and the factors that affect Sumatra island. The data used is panel data with descriptive analysis techniques and multiple linear regression. Based on the research results: Education, economic openness, road infrastructure, and investment have a positive and significant effect on economic growth and poverty and unemployment have a negative and significant effect on economic growth. Besides, the results of panel data explained that the openness of the economy to economic growth is very low, while the highest is education.

The aim of this research is to analyze the impact of coffee industry on economic growth of Vietnam. This research has used historic data for coffee production, consumption, exports, and coffee stock for Vietnam, thus this research has followed a quantitative design. The data in this research has been collected from the time period ranging from 1990 to 2018. There are several techniques that were applied in E-views such as descriptive statistics, bounds test, and autoregressive distributed lag model. The results of ARDL model indicate that in the short run coffee industry has an influence on the economic growth in Vietnam. It can be stated that for the short-run the null hypothesis is rejected stating that domestic consumption, exportable consumption, gross opening stock, and total coffee production have impacts over the gross domestic product (GDP) of Vietnam. The results of Bounds test show there is a significant impact of coffee industry on the economic growth of Vietnam in the long run as well.

This study focuses on the relationship between economic growth and electronic payment systems based on a sample of countries from across the globe. The study is relevant considering the importance of payment systems in financial transactions and also because, being an evolving area, it is not much studied in literature. The study initially refers to the concept, types and other features of electronic payment systems and later on analyses the macroeconomic data from countries across the globe. No concrete evidence is found supporting or rejecting the relationship between electronic payment systems and economic growth which can be inferred as country specific issue.

The paper uses the FEM and REM models to test the role of commercial bank development on economic growth in Vietnam. The research data is taken from the World Development Indicator (WDI) of the World Bank (World Bank - WB) and the annual reports of 30 Vietnamese commercial banks in the period of 2007 - 2018. Experimental research results show the very important role of commercial banks in Vietnam's economic growth during this period.

The complexity and ambiguity of the contribution of foreign direct investment (FDI) to economic growth necessitates the development of recommendations for the analysis and management of foreign investment flows to maximize their positive impact on the economy and prevent negative consequences. In this regard, the aim of the study is to propose an economic and mathematical modeling of the foreign direct investment impact on economic growth and their interaction with domestic direct investment. The article proposes a classification of factors that determine the inflow of foreign direct investment to developed countries and developing countries. By introducing the external effect of foreign direct investment (capital repatriation), the authors modified the model with foreign direct investment in the form of accumulated foreign capital reserves. An analytical expression is obtained to relate the rate of economic growth to the amount of repatriation depending on the effects of supplementing and substituting foreign direct investment for foreign direct investment.

Many empirical studies have been conducted so far on economic growth in the world. In these studies, the effect of various elements on the economic growth, such as public expenditure, inflation, labor, private investment, etc., has been examined. In this study, the effect of governance on the economic growth in 43 Asian countries is considered during the period from 2004 to 2016. Using the Bayesian multilevel generalized linear model, it is estimated that governance has a positive impact on economic growth with a probability of more than 80%. Based on this, policy implications are provided for improving the governance quality to promote economic growth.

This paper examines how initial inequality and poverty rate are related to subsequent economic growth in the provincial level of Vietnam. The results show a robust negative relationship between initial poverty rate and subsequent economic growth. However, there is no link between initial inequality and subsequent economic growth. The results also show that lower inequality leads to lower poverty rate and poverty reduction could help to reduce inequality. Other determinants of inequality and poverty reduction include human capital, investment, gross domestic product (GDP) growth rate and trade openness. The main policy implication that emerges from this paper is that concentrating on poverty elimination will help us build a more equitable society without sacrificing economic growth.

The article simulates the impact of the digital technologies’ development on economic growth, which makes it possible to find ways to improve the quality of various spheres of life and identify areas of the economy, the accelerated digitalization of which will ensure an increase in gross domestic product (GDP). The research used groupings of economic activities that directly influence the development of the digital economy. Using the data of regression models, the coefficients of GDP elasticity from the development of the studied sectors were calculated and used to forecast GDP under the development influence of the studied sectors while maintaining the existing trends. The dynamics of the e-commerce market development in Ukraine, the dynamics of production volumes of products (services) of the main types of economic activities in the field of digital transformation of the economy in Ukraine, the dynamics of financial results of enterprises in the information and telecommunications sector in Ukraine, the dynamics of capital investments in the field of information and communications of Ukraine, the dynamics of foreign investment in the development of the type of economic activity “information and telecommunications” in Ukraine, the dynamics of the development of the main areas of digitalization of the Ukrainian economy in 2010-2018 and the dynamics of GDP in actual prices were revealed. A correlation and regression analysis of the impact of the main indicators of the digital technologies sectors development on Ukraine's GDP is also carried out. The forecast extrapolation trend of production growth volumes of products and services in the information sector of Ukraine was built. A forecast of GDP growth in Ukraine has been constructed, taking into account the processes of digitalization of the economy in accordance with certain trends. The forecast dynamics of changes in GDP under the influence of the IT sector development until 2023 was also illustrated. It was found that Ukraine lags significantly behind most developed countries in terms of the level of industrial production development of information and communication technologies and equipment, Ukraine is completely import-dependent in this area. It has been proved that stimulating the development of information and communication technologies has significant prospects for activating digitalization processes in all spheres of the economy and society and increasing GDP.

During the last decades, environmental crises through energy consumption and economic growth were noticed as a growing concern among researchers. The industrial sector is the main part of economic growth in each country using conservative energy and emitting carbon dioxide that causes global warming. The Paris agreement and Kyoto protocol were two agreements to prevent governments from emitting CO2 freely. Purpose of this research was to investigate the cement industry, steel industry, and automobile industry products’ effects on CO2 emissions in Iran and to rank them according to their measured effects on CO2 emissions. The methodology used in this study was to estimate equations with CO2 emissions as a dependent variable and cement, steel, and automobile industries’ products with ordinary least squares (OLS) and generalized moment method (GMM) approaches. Stationary, Johansen cointegration, Durbin-Watson, Breusch-Godfrey, Chow breakpoint, and normal residual tests were checked. In-sample forecasting was implemented to check the precision of the estimation and an updated ranking was reported as a final result to consider which industry has affected CO2 emissions more than the others per unit of production cost. In conclusion, the cement industry, steel industry, and automobile industry had the most positive effects on CO2 emissions, respectively. This result is suitable to prioritize the industries for enhancing green technology and optimizing industrial production for a more sustainable economy.

Today, the positive impact of entrepreneurship in the economy has been globally accepted. Entrepreneurs could provide efficient techniques to face with upcoming economic challenges. In this paper, we first investigate the effect of entrepreneurship on growth of economy over the period 2005- 2011. Then we study the impact of four factors including Gross domestic product per worker, Growth in capital per worker, New firm creation and Technological innovation intensity on economic growth. The proposed model of this paper uses ordinary least square technique to investigate the relationship between four independent variables and economic growth. The results show that gross domestic product per worker is the only variable, which is statistically meaningful when the level of significance is five percent and the impact of other three variables including growth in capital per worker, new firm creation and technological innovation intensity are not statistically meaningful. In other word, as we see a 1% increase in gross domestic product per worker we could expect 8.712% increase in economic growth.
