An assembly line is a sequence of workstations, connected together by a material handling system, which is used to assemble components into a final product. The economic importance of assembly as a manufacturing process has led to extensive efforts for designing an assembly line to ensure efficiency and cost effectiveness of assembly operations. These efficiency and effectiveness can be maximized by minimizing balancing loss and system loss. The current work offers a range based measure for System loss and describes a technique for jointly minimizing balancing loss and system loss. To arrive at the optimum solution of the joint minimization problem, the same has been reduced to sequential marginal minimization problems and simulation technique has been installed for obtaining the optimal solution. For demonstration purpose, one example has been worked out to indicate the strength of the suggested method.

In this study, flooring grade epoxy/nanoSiO2 nanocomposites were prepared by in-situ polymerization method. Nano silica was treated by coupling agent in order to surface treating and introducing of reactive functional groups to achieving adequate bonding between polar inorganic nano particles and epoxy organic polymer. ?-Aminopropyltriethoxysilane (Amino A-100) was used as an effective and commercially available coupling agent and nano silica treated in acetone media. SEM observations of cured samples revealed that the nano silica was completely dispersed into polymer matrix into nanoscale particles. Thermal and physical properties of prepared samples were investigated and data showed improvements in physical and mechanical properties of the flooring samples in comparison with unfilled resin.

During the past two years, Canadian economy was on hold since there were many businesses closed due to COVID-19 pandemic. Many business owners decided to ask their employees to work from their homes and working in distance created some troubles for many clients. Businesses asked Canada post to deliver their orders. As a result, Canada post was met with huge orders where most of them were delivered late. It is estimated that supply chain disruption has hurt Canadian economy, significantly. This paper surveys the effects of supply chain disruption on Canadian economy.

This paper examines the determinants of banks’ performance in emerging economies. Sustainable growth of emerging economies depends on the financial performance of their banks’. The determinants of banks’ performance are, therefore, analyzed through panel econometric techniques over the crisis period of 2008-2014 using data of the top 50 banks from the 10 sampled emerging economies. Both banks’ specific and macroeconomic variables are considered in the analysis. Results reveal that macroeconomic variables like GDP and inflation are significant forces behind high Return on Assets (ROA) in emerging economies banks’, however, both negatively influenced the Net Interest Margins (NIM). Among the banks’ specific variables high profitability and NIM are related to high operating costs. This shows that expenses are managed properly in these economies. Further, leverage has a positive impact on both (ROA) and (NIM).While reserve requirement has negatively and significantly influence both profitability and net interest margins, which indicates the prominence of central bank’s monetary policy by considering the importance of liquidity for emerging economies commercial banks in economic recovery phase.

Supply chain management (SCM) is the active centralize of a business' supply related activities to increase customer value and enhance a competitive advantage in the marketplace. SCM in-cludes various efforts by suppliers to implement and effective supply chains which are as eco-nomical as possible. Supply chain includes several issues from production, to product develop-ment, to the information systems required to direct these undertakings. This paper presents recent advances of supply chain management and issues related in Canadian industries. According to our survey, trust is an important part of the supply chain and business partners. The study also discusses different challenges for the implementation of SCM in Canadian small and medium en-terprises.

Building sector is considered as the biggest source of greenhouse gas emissions around the world. Being green, or sustainable, is one of primary issues coming from internal/ external driv-ers for construction and engineering firms. The green building practice extends and supplement the traditional building design perspectives including economy, utility, durability, and comfort. This paper presents a review on recent advances dedicated on different state-of-art articles in the area of green building. The paper raises serious concern to take the necessary actions for green building development.

The effects of mismatch parameters on isochromatic fringe patterns were studied using the technique of photoelasticity. First, the mathematical equations of isochromatic fringes were derived for singular stress field near a bi-material notch. These equations were used to study the effects of mismatch parameters on the shape of isochromatic fringes theoretically. Analytical results indicated that the mismatch parameters have a significant effect on the shape of the isochromatic fringe patterns around the bi-material notch tip. In order to assess the accuracy of the analytical results, a photoelastic test program was conducted on the V-notched bi-material Brazilian disc specimens. A very good agreement was shown to exist between the experimental results and the analytical reconstructions.

An efficient and practical, three-component one-pot condensation reaction between 1, 2-phenylenediamine, 2-mercaptoacetic acid and aromatic aldehydes in ionic liquids have been reported for the synthesis of 1-aryl-1H, 3H-thiazolo [3, 4-a] benzimidazoles derivatives in excellent yields.

Enterprise resource planning (ERP) is the integrated management of core business processes, of-ten in real-time and mediated by software and technology. ERP gives us an integrated and updated image of core business processes based on common databases retained by a database man-agement system. ERP systems are able to track business resources including cash, raw materials, production capacity and the status of business commitments such as orders, purchase orders, and payroll. This paper presents different experiences of the implementation of ERP in Canada.

Exporting goods and services play an important role on economy of developing countries. There are many countries in the world whose economy is solely based on exporting raw materials such as oil and gas. Many believe that countries cannot develop their economy as long as they rely on exporting one single group of raw materials. Therefore, there is a need to help other sectors of industries build good infrastructure for exporting diversified products. In this paper, we perform an empirical analysis to determine the critical success factors on exporting different goods. The results are analyzed using some statistical non-parametric methods and some useful guidelines are also suggested.
