Keywords: Site Facilities, Safety Criteria, Best-Worst Method (BWM), VIKOR Method, Gray Relational Analysis (GRA), Mehr Construction Project of Tehran

Abstract:
This study presents a new hybrid framework based on the multi-criteria decision making in order to rank the potential site layout locations by consideration of the cost and safety criteria in the Mehr Construction Project in Tehran, Iran. To this end, all of the criteria in selecting suitable potential locations are extracted from the research literature and the most effective ones, which are matched with existing conditions in Tehran are considered based on the opinion of experts,. Then, the proper locations for site layout are determined as the potential alternatives and ranked by experts based on the structure. According to the data collected from the questionnaires, the weights of the selected criteria are calculated using Best Worst Method (BWM) and the final ranking of the locations is performed using two Gray Relational Analysis and VIKOR methods. The computational results indicate that both VIKOR and GRA methods yield the same ranking. However, a method with higher reliability should be used to select the best potential location of construction site layout. Therefore, the sensitivity analysis of final outputs on the parameters existing in VIKOR and GRA methods is used in order to rank the alternatives and select the best approach. According to the computational results, the GRA method provides higher robustness compared with the VIKOR method. Accordingly, the ranking obtained from the GRA method is employed as the final solution in implementing the case study.

Identifying and ranking the indicators of crisis management with using VIKOR method Pages 701-712 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: Abotaleb Khedmati

DOI: 10.5267/j.msl.2016.9.003

Keywords: Crisis Management, Crisis Management Indicators, VIKOR Method

Abstract:
Vast changes and increase in global events have caused a crisis among public and private organizations. If organizations cannot manage the created crisis, they might be damaged widely. Lack of readiness and inappropriate management of crisis might even lead to the destruction of the organizations. Therefore, crisis management prepares the conditions to reduce the destructive effects caused by crisis. Having crisis management in organization requires expansion of various indicators that implementing and operating each of these indicators increase the organization capability to confront with crisis. In the present study, identifying and ranking indicators of crisis management have been considered. The primary results indicate that 12 indexes have been identified for crisis management. In addition, the results, according to experts’ ideas, led to elimination of two indicators and 10 indexes were finalized. Then, using VIKOR method, the final indicators were ranked. The results of ranking indicated that three indexes of appropriate management style, management of human resource and responding speed, as well as crisis confrontation regarding cost, time were at the best to be implemented in the organization.

Which product would be chosen? A fuzzy VIKOR method for evaluation and selection of products in terms of customers' point of view; Case study: Iranian cell phone market Pages 23-32 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: Jahangir Yadollahi Farsi, Javad Siahkali Moradi, Behrooz Jamali

DOI: 10.5267/j.dsl.2012.06.003

Keywords: Cell phone evaluating criteria, Fuzzy set, Marketing, Product Selection, VIKOR method

Abstract:
Product selection is always one of the troubles that decision makers are facing with it. Correct selection requires having suitable method for this important issue. In this article, we concern to introduce an approach of fuzzy decision making for selection to decision makers. The nature of decision making is usually complex and without structure. Totally, most of qualitative and quantitative factors such as quality, price, and flexibility should be concerned for determining a suitable product. In this study, it is attempted to use recent advances in ranking methods for product selection. The proposed study uses oral preferences language shown in terms of triangular and trapezoid fuzzy numbers. Then, a multi criteria hierarchical decision making is suggested on the basis of fuzzy collection theory for product selection where the proposed fuzzy VIKOR uses different qualitative and quantitative criteria.
