Keywords: Yunan fresh-cut flowers, Digital transformation, Supply chain capabilities, Innovation capabilities, Technology readiness, Organizational readiness

Abstract:
Given the rapid global economic development and continuous technical advancements, a key strategy for companies trying to improve their competitive edge and accomplish sustainable development is digital transformation. This study's goal was to investigate how the supply chain capabilities of Yunnan Province's fresh-cut flower business are affected by digital transformation. To collect data, the study employed a survey methodology based on a questionnaire. Ultimately, 402 flower businesses in Yunnan Province produced valid du-plicates. PLS-SEM was utilized in the study to evaluate the data, and the results showed that digital transformation greatly improved the enterprises' capacity for both innovation and supply chain management; innovation capabilities positively impacted supply chain capabilities and acted as a mediator in the relationship between supply chain capabilities and digital transformation. Furthermore, organizational readiness largely exhibits a positive moderating effect on the relationship between digital transformation and supply chain capabilities, whereas technology readiness not only fosters but also reinforces the relationship between digital transformation and innovation capabilities. These results offer an effective reference suggestion for fresh-cut flower companies in Yunnan Province and nationwide on how to enhance supply chain capabilities through digital transformation to improve their competitive advantages.

The moderating role of organizational readiness on the blockchain adoption in supply chain among Saudi SMEs Pages 2479-2488 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: Badrea Al Oraini

DOI: 10.5267/j.uscm.2024.5.021

Keywords: Organizational Readiness, Block chain, Supply Chain, Saudi Arabia, SMEs

Abstract:
The study aims to investigate the moderating role of Organizational Readiness (OR) in the relationship between Supply Chain Agility (SCA) and Blockchain Adoption Intention (BAI) among these SMEs, drawing on the Resource-Based View (RBV) theory. The study adopts a positivist approach and a cross-sectional design to explore how organizational readiness moderates blockchain adoption in Saudi SMEs. It uses a quantitative methodology, surveying decision-makers from SMEs engaged in supply chain activities to gather data. Data analysis is performed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The study's findings indicate that Operational Supply Chain Transparency (OSCT) impacts Supply Chain Alignment (SCL), Supply Chain Adaptability (SCD), SCA, and BAI. Moreover, there is a positive influence of SCL on SCD and SCA. SCA also significantly influences BAI. Furthermore, the moderation analysis shows that OR significantly affects the SCA-BAI relationship, indicating that higher OR amplifies the positive impact of supply chain agility on blockchain adoption intention, underscoring the critical roles of supply chain factors and OR in blockchain adoption among SMEs. Based on the RBV theory, the study delves into how constructs like SCL, OSCT, SCD, and SCA are influenced by blockchain technology. It assesses the extent to which these factors would impact the propensity of SMEs to implement blockchain yet explores the moderating influence of OR on this dynamic.

DOI: 10.5267/j.jpm.2026.1.004

Keywords: Cloud Computing Adoption, Continuous Intention, Compatibility, Complexity, Coercive Forces, Mimetic Forces, Organizational Readiness, Relative Advantage, Technology Fit, Top Management Support, Viability, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs), Jordan

Abstract:
Cloud computing systems have been identified as an important technology that could increase the competitiveness and effectiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), but there has been less research focusing on examining their use from the perspective of their antecedents. The proposed study aims to explain the antecedent factors that influence the continued use of cloud computing systems in Jordanian SMEs by employing an integrated approach that combines the Technology-Organization-Environment (TOE) framework, the Fit-Viability Model (FVM), and the Expectation-Confirmation Theory (ECT). A structured questionnaire survey was conducted to examine opinions from 276 Jordanian SMEs, which showed that relative advantage, perceived benefit, simplicity, adaptability, and perceived security are major antecedent factors in defining perceived appropriateness. Characteristics related to organizations, involving the importance of reading and the role of senior management members in organizations, are major antecedent factors in defining viability. Mimetic forces exerted in organizations are major antecedent factors that have a positive association in defining viability in organizations. On the other hand, coercive forces are major antecedent factors that have negatively affected viability in organizations. The appropriateness and viability of technologies are major antecedent factors in defining an individual’s desire to adopt cloud computing systems for an extended period of time in organizations. The proposed study suggests that the fitness of technologies is the most effective predictor of cloud computing system adoption in organizations. The proposed research study uses an integrated research theory that reflects on increasing the awareness needed to detail cloud computing systems. Cloud computing studies have never encountered such increased awareness before.

Exploring the bridge between digital transformation and sustainable supply chain performance: An empirical study based on Yunnan fresh cut flower supply chain Pages 185-200 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: Ni Li, Boonsub Panichakarn, Tao Xin

DOI: 10.5267/j.jpm.2025.3.002

Keywords: Digital transformation, Sustainable supply chain performance, Organizational readiness, Technological readiness, Innovation capabilities

Abstract:
Rapid global economic expansion and ongoing technological advancements have made digital transformation an essential tactic for businesses looking to boost their competitiveness and accomplish sustainable development. The study aims to explore how digital transformation (DT) indirectly affects the sustainable supply chain performance (SSCP) of fresh-cut flower supply chains in Yunnan Province through organizational readiness (OR) and innovation capability (IC) and to examine the moderating role of technology readiness (TR) in this process. This study adopted the survey method of the questionnaire, and the final valid sample was 354. Based on the RBV and the philosophy of sustainable development, the PLS-SEM approach is used in this study to assess the fresh-cut flower supply chain in Yunnan Province. It was found that OR and IC played a significant mediating role in DT and SSCP. Furthermore, the link between DT and OR, IC and SSCP, was significantly moderated by TR. The empirical results suggest that high technological readiness and innovativeness help firms assimilate and apply new technologies faster and thus achieve better results in digital transformation. This paper provides valuable guidance for firms and policymakers, suggesting active investment in digital technologies and infrastructure development, and focusing on the combination of innovation capability and sustainability to promote the sustainable development of agricultural supply chains.

AI integration and employment in construction: Exploring positive and destructive effects through a PLS-SEM lens Pages 27-36 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: Zheng Xiao, Afdallyna Harun

DOI: 10.5267/j.ijdns.2025.10.015

Keywords: Artificial Intelligence, Construction Industry, Employment Effects, Organizational Readiness, China, PLS-SEM

Abstract:
This research examines how artificial intelligence (AI) integration has affected employment in China’s construction industry. This research builds on the theories of skill-biased technological change and creative destruction to study how AI influences both positive and negative employment effects that later influence overall employment. The report confirms, based on the survey data and by using PLS-SEM, that AI introduction results in both job growth and job losses for managerial-level employees. In addition, whether an organization is ready greatly affects how these relationships play out, improving good outcomes and reducing the bad ones. It is clear from the findings that preparing a strategy helps make the most of AI and alleviate its risks. The study contributes to a more detailed view of AI’s effects on jobs and supplies ideas for sustaining both innovation and employment.

Examining the effects of organizational readiness dimensions and extrinsic motivation on the continuance intention to use e-learning innovations Pages 357-372 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: Ashraf Ahmed Fadelelmoula

DOI: 10.5267/j.ijdns.2025.6.001

Keywords: E-Learning innovation, Organizational readiness, Extrinsic motivation, Continuance usage intention, COVID-19 pandemic

Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of key organizational readiness dimensions and extrinsic motivation on the teaching staff’s intention toward the continued voluntary use of e-learning innovations post COVID-19 pandemic. These effects have not received considerable focus in the extant e-learning literature. To mitigate this lack, an integrated model encompassing dimensions from several organizational readiness frameworks and a motivational theory was developed. The model postulated these dimensions as direct determinants of the e-learning innovations continuance intention. A structured questionnaire-based survey was conducted to empirically assess the developed model. The intended population for this survey was composed of teaching staff at a Saudi higher education institution characterized by a wide adoption of e-learning innovations during the pandemic. The 233 valid responses obtained from this population were analyzed using the structural equation modeling method. The results indicated that only two organizational readiness dimensions (i.e., teaching staff readiness and administrative support) and extrinsic motivation were significant positive drivers of the continuance intention to use e-learning innovations. According to these findings, the study emphasizes that the key e-learning stakeholders should develop effective policies and procedures that reinforce the roles of the examined dimensions in promoting such continuance intention, which represents a crucial indicator for the successful implementation of the adopted innovation.

Authors: Mohammad Al-Alwan, Dojanah Bader, Manar Al-Qatawneh, Suleiman Alneimat, Sulieman Al-Hawary

DOI: 10.5267/j.ijdns.2022.4.002

Keywords: e-HRM, HR department role, Organizational readiness, e-HRM perceived usefulness, e-HRM ease of use, employee flexibility, Islamic banks, Jordan

Abstract:
The study aimed at investigating the effect of e-HRM use on employee flexibility based on Davis’ technology acceptance model. Seven hypotheses were proposed. Two external factors (HR department role and organizational readiness) were linked to e-HRM perceived usefulness and e-HRM ease of use. These two factors linked to the behavioral intention to use e-HRM, which in turn connected to employee flexibility. All these propositions were accepted through analyzing data collected via a questionnaire from a sample consisting of managers and employees of human resource departments in Islamic banks in Jordan. The study contributes to the literature through clarifying and extending the technology acceptance model of e-HRM, as identifying two of the external factors that significantly affect e-HRM perceived usefulness and e-HRM ease of use, as well as, and spreading the model to include employee flexibility.

A study on the effect of different factors on e-Commerce adoption among SMEs of Malaysia Pages 2679-2688 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: Hamidreza Mahroeian

DOI: 10.5267/j.msl.2012.08.021

Keywords: Electronic commerce adoption, Perceived usefulness, Organizational readiness, Perceived ease of use, Small and medium enterprises

Abstract:
The Internet & apos; s World Wide Web has become the prime driver of modern E-commerce that can be an important source of competitive advantage for most business organizations, especially small and medium sized (SMEs) businesses. In recent years, researchers have focused on e-commerce adoption both in the United States and other countries. This study examines the factors influencing e-commerce adoption among Malaysian SMEs. There are only a few studies which have examined the adoption of e-commerce among SMEs, its development, challenges, and future prospects. The results show that the major reason behind e-commerce non-adoption is that the organization is not ready to make that change because of external pressure and cultural reasons. Furthermore, organizational readiness strongly influences e-commerce implementation, and managerial support and financial, logistical, and technological factors weigh heavily in determining if an SME in Malaysia can pursue e-commerce implementation. The study is based on 100 samples taken from Cyberjaya. 100 sets of administrated questionnaires were sent and conducted. The data analysis shows e-commerce adoption was significantly influenced by its organizational readiness, perceived ease of use, and also perceived usefulness factors.
