Artificial intelligence for the management of water projects and the management of water resources: A bibliographical analysis Pages 191-198 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: Juan Jose Santillan Rojas, Nicke Dennis Cabezas Suazo, Johan Javier Chamorro Monago, Angel Narcizo Aquino Fernandez

DOI: 10.5267/j.jpm.2023.2.002

Keywords: Artificial intelligence, Management, Projects, Water

Abstract:
This bibliographical review gives us a clear and summarized analysis of the management tools for a water infrastructure construction project and, a tool that allows the management of water resources through the application of everything analyzed and compiled in scientific articles obtained from the Scopus database and after that it was analyzed using the VOSviewer tool, which has the complexity of analyzing a large amount of data. This analysis was carried out from the appearance of the first related investigations until the year 2023, analysis graphs were obtained from representative levels of the words “artificial intelligence”, “project management” of “construction” and “water” resource with greater interest in the analysis. The results obtained allowed us to understand the great variety of technological tools that are available today to be able to manage the construction of a project through artificial intelligence and its components that work together, likewise the application of these tools is carried out by countries as well as the United States. The United States and China are the ones that represent the greatest interest in these investigations, however this contribution is minimal to be able to generate effective solutions since each project presents its particular characteristics that technology has to adapt to. The future of these projects was also analyzed, such as the management of water resources through intelligent technologies that allow the preservation, care and maintenance of water resources, in addition to this, it is emphasized that worldwide there are already problems of droughts, lack of water resources and shortages of water in some countries. This research has the purpose of an overview for decision-making in the execution of the project at the water level and after the management of the water resource, it is important to apply these tools for their different advantages and carry it out to large-scale works in Peru subsidized by the Peruvian state since they are the most responsible for ensuring the care, maintenance and preservation of water resources.

Authors: Omar M. Shubailat, Murad Ali Ahmad Al-Zaqeba, Aziz Madi, Ahmad Fathi Alheet

DOI: 10.5267/j.ijdns.2023.12.002

Keywords: Evaluating Security, Efficiency and Transparency, Governance, Management, Estate Jordan

Abstract:
The potential for transforming the estate management industry through the resolution of common inefficiencies, lack of transparency, and security concerns is presented by the use of blockchain technology into estate governance. The purpose of this article is to clarify how incorporating blockchain technology would affect estate operations and governance. This study is based on quantitative information that was collected from 317 estate management professionals using a 5-point Likert scale questionnaire. SmartPLS4 analysis demonstrates that blockchain governance has a statistically significant and robust influence on estate governance in Jordan. The impact of Blockchain Governance on Jordanian Estate Management appears to be negligible and unimportant. Furthermore, there appears to be a negligible and insignificant correlation between Jordanian estate management and estate planning methods. In-depth analysis of these theories is done in this article, which also offers insights into how blockchain technology affects estate governance dynamics and how it can affect Jordan's estate management procedures. The consequences go beyond theoretical understandings; they promote the use of blockchain technology in estate governance frameworks as a game-changing means of ensuring the safe, transparent, and effective administration of frozen estates in Jordan and elsewhere.

Integral evaluation as the basis of analytical support for managing the competitiveness of socially-oriented retailers Pages 825-836 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: Yaroslav Berezivskyi, Vasyl Zbarsky, Anna Zbarska

DOI: 10.5267/j.ac.2021.2.001

Keywords: Enterprise competitiveness, Integral evaluation, Management, Development of retailers, Socially-oriented business

Abstract:
The advantages of an integral approach to assessing the competitiveness of retailers are substantiated, which allows obtaining a more thorough and versatile informative base for making further managerial decisions to ensure the development of trading business. A new approach to the integral evaluation of the competitiveness of retailers is developed. The list of functional and structural components of competitiveness was substantiated: marketing, financial and investment, material and technical, intellectual and personnel, innovation, logistic and social. It is proposed to use the methodological sequence of competitiveness assessment, which involves the alternate passage of the following stages: construction of an evaluation hierarchy, identification of the levels of the criterion importance, definition of a set of “local vectors” by evaluation criteria, conducting comparative evaluation of competing enterprises, hierarchical synthesis of alternative options for ensuring competitiveness. The methods of an expert survey are used to form an information and analytical base. Using the Saaty’s analytic hierarchy process and the Delphi method of an expert survey, a matrix of pairwise comparisons of the criteria of the retailers’ competitiveness is formed. The Gallup Institute methodology is used to form the sample of enterprises. A matrix of rating positions of the socially-oriented retailers is developed to enable evaluation. On the basis of the obtained results – analytical support of the policy(regarding the competitiveness level, state of security and coefficients of weight of its functional and structural components), the strategic principles of managing the competitiveness of socially-oriented retailers. A matrix of strategic decisions on managing the competitiveness of socially-oriented retailers is developed.

A compendium of globalization trends in world trade: Justification of a two-tire model of business processes Pages 501-508 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: Larysa Vasyurenko, Ihor Kuksa, Valerii Danylenko, Wang Jing

DOI: 10.5267/j.ac.2020.4.008

Keywords: Management, Business process, Supply chain, Trade, Import, Export, Logistics

Abstract:
Trading is the most sensitive sector of the economy, directly and indirectly responding to innovative challenges. High competition, political risks and planetary scales have made it susceptible to any globalization fluctuations. Effective management is seen as the most important opportunity to gain competitive advantage. This explains the increased interest in the system of indicators of management system evaluation in the business processes in the supply chains. The aim of this paper is to develop and substantiate analytical approaches to the study of the status of transnational trade economic relationships with the identification of significant impact indicators and vulnerability indicators. The globalization aspect of the existing trend of world trade (export-import) among differentiated groups of countries is justified, distinguishing the forecast component. A two-tier model of business process “reliability management” has been constructed, taking into account the results of linear regression models based on the profiles of Australia and New Zealand.

Measuring customer loyalty using an extended RFM and clustering technique Pages 905-912 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: Zohre Zalaghi, Yousef Abbasnejad Varzi

DOI: 10.5267/j.msl.2014.3.026

Keywords: Customer Life Time, Customer Relationship, Genetic Algorithm, K-means Clustering, Management, RFM Model

Abstract:
Today, the ability to identify the profitable customers, creating a long-term loyalty in them and expanding the existing relationships are considered as the key and competitive factors for a customer-oriented organization. The prerequisite for having such competitive factors is the presence of a very powerful customer relationship management (CRM). The accurate evaluation of customers’ profitability is considered as one of the fundamental reasons that lead to a successful customer relationship management. RFM is a method that scrutinizes three properties, namely recency, frequency and monetary for each customer and scores customers based on these properties. In this paper, a method is introduced that obtains the behavioral traits of customers using the extended RFM approach and having the information related to the customers of an organization; it then classifies the customers using the K-means algorithm and finally scores the customers in terms of their loyalty in each cluster. In the suggested approach, first the customers’ records will be clustered and then the RFM model items will be specified through selecting the effective properties on the customers’ loyalty rate using the multipurpose genetic algorithm. Next, they will be scored in each cluster based on the effect that they have on the loyalty rate. The influence rate each property has on loyalty is calculated using the Spearman’s correlation coefficient.

Towards a synergy between project and supply chain management Pages 931-938 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: Sanjay Sharma

DOI: 10.5267/j.ijiec.2012.05.002

Keywords: Housing construction, Supply chain, Categorization of the construction product, logistics, Management

Abstract:
Construction projects are conventionally analyzed considering factors such as cost and completion time. The present paper focuses on the projects particularly dealing with the house or building. The paper aims at an objective of introducing a synergy between project and supply chain management. After a brief relevant literature review, major construction activities have been discussed and the associated synergy between project management and supply chain concepts has been explained. Applications of the supply chain concepts such as forward and reverse logistics along with the customer order decoupling point in the context of construction management are discussed as a result of the proposed development. For this purpose, a categorization of construction product is developed on the basis of land and building characteristics and it is the major contribution of the present paper. This is also expected to be useful for estimating lead time and availability of the product in the context of relevant supply chain, and an associated managerial implication.

Authors: Bahram Bahmani, Golshan Mohammadi, Mehrdad Mohammadi, Reza Tavakkoli-Moghaddam

DOI: 10.5267/j.msl.2013.04.017

Keywords: Customer relationship, Customer churn prediction, management, Neural network

Abstract:
Customers are believed to be the main part of any organization’s assets and customer retention as well as customer churn management are important responsibilities of organizations. In today’s competitive environment, organization must do their best to retain their existing customers since attracting new customers cost significantly more than taking care of existing ones. In this paper, we present a hybrid method based on neural network and Cox regression analysis where neural network is used for outlier data and Cox regression method is implemented for prediction of future events. The proposed model of this paper has been implemented on some data and the results are compared based on five criteria including prediction accuracy, errors’ type I and II, root mean square error and mean absolute deviation. The preliminary results indicate that the proposed model of this paper performs better than alternative methods.
