doi 10.5267/j.uscm.2024.8.014

๐Ÿ”‘ Keywords: Blockchain Technology, Financial Transparency, Emerging Economies, Small-Medium Enterprises, Jordan

Abstract:
With the rapid advancement of blockchain technology, SMEs face an opportunity to leverage decentralized ledger systems to address longstanding challenges related to financial transparency. This study aims to assess the implications of blockchain adoption for SMEs operating in the Jordanian context, focusing on its potential to improve accountability, trust, and efficiency in financial operations. Drawing on quantitative research methods, this paper examines the current state of financial transparency using a structural equation modeling approach of 215 surveys. The findings indicated that there is a positive impact of block-chain technology on enhancing financial transparency. The findings of this research contribute to both academic understanding and practical implications for policymakers, regulators, and SMEs in Jordan seeking to enhance financial transparency through blockchain technology. By shedding light on the positive impact of blockchain on financial transparency in the Jordanian SME sector, this paper aims to inform strategic decision-making and stimulate further research in this emerging field. Ultimately, it underscores the transformative potential of block-chain technology in promoting accountability, trust, and eco-nomic development among SMEs in Jordan and beyond.

The moderating role of organizational readiness on the blockchain adoption in supply chain among Saudi SMEs Pages 2479-2488 PDF Download PDF

Authors: Badrea Al Oraini

doi 10.5267/j.uscm.2024.5.021

๐Ÿ”‘ Keywords: Organizational Readiness, Block chain, Supply Chain, Saudi Arabia, SMEs

Abstract:
The study aims to investigate the moderating role of Organizational Readiness (OR) in the relationship between Supply Chain Agility (SCA) and Blockchain Adoption Intention (BAI) among these SMEs, drawing on the Resource-Based View (RBV) theory. The study adopts a positivist approach and a cross-sectional design to explore how organizational readiness moderates blockchain adoption in Saudi SMEs. It uses a quantitative methodology, surveying decision-makers from SMEs engaged in supply chain activities to gather data. Data analysis is performed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The study's findings indicate that Operational Supply Chain Transparency (OSCT) impacts Supply Chain Alignment (SCL), Supply Chain Adaptability (SCD), SCA, and BAI. Moreover, there is a positive influence of SCL on SCD and SCA. SCA also significantly influences BAI. Furthermore, the moderation analysis shows that OR significantly affects the SCA-BAI relationship, indicating that higher OR amplifies the positive impact of supply chain agility on blockchain adoption intention, underscoring the critical roles of supply chain factors and OR in blockchain adoption among SMEs. Based on the RBV theory, the study delves into how constructs like SCL, OSCT, SCD, and SCA are influenced by blockchain technology. It assesses the extent to which these factors would impact the propensity of SMEs to implement blockchain yet explores the moderating influence of OR on this dynamic.

The impact of supply chain performance on financial performance: Dimensions of the SCOR model Pages 1409-1416 PDF Download PDF

Authors: Abdallah Abusalma, Badrea Al Oraini, Khaleel Al-Daoud, Muhammad Turki Alshurideh

doi 10.5267/j.uscm.2024.4.010

๐Ÿ”‘ Keywords: The SCOR model, Performance of supply chain dimensions, Financial performance, Industrial firms

Abstract:
This study aims at exploring the impact of the performance of supply chain dimensions (plan-based, source-based, make-based, delivery-based, and return-based performance) on the financial performance of industrial firms. Using a questionnaire, data were collected from a sample consisting of 250 supply chain and financial managers. Analysis data via IBM SPSS and AMOS, the results showed that hypothesized effects were supported except one hypothesis. That is, the results revealed that plan-based, source-based, make-based, and delivery-based performance have significant effects on firmโ€™ financial performance. However, there was a significant negative effect of return-based performance on financial performance. The results concluded that firms should individually influence the supply chain dimensions to address the effects of their performance on financial performance.

Authors: Badrea Al Oraini

doi 10.5267/j.ijdns.2024.5.019

๐Ÿ”‘ Keywords: Live stream marketing, Trust, Online consumer, Saudi Arabia

Abstract:
The aim of this study is to identify the impact of live stream marketing on consumer trust. Data was collected using a questionnaire developed based on prior works and administered electronically to consumers who use live stream marketing before making their purchasing decisions in Saudi Arabia. A total of 350 responses were used for data analysis purposes, which was carried out via SmartPLS 4.0 software. The findings of the study demonstrate a significant and positive impact of live stream marketing as conceptualized in terms of five dimensions (information, attractiveness, entertainment, expert, and social interaction) on consumer trust. In accordance with the research's findings, researchers advise live stream marketers to learn everything they can about the things they are selling because doing so will enable customers to make well-informed choices.
