Authors: Sara Kay, Lena Gan

DOI: 10.5267/j.ac.2025.8.003

Keywords: Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM), Resource-Based View, Client Risk Assessment, Technology Acceptance, Financial Services Management, Behavioral Analytics

Abstract:
Technology-mediated client behaviors have emerged as critical determinants of organizational effectiveness and competitive positioning in the financial services landscape. This study examines multi-criteria client risk assessment within financial institutions, exploring the key facets that drive organizational capability development in managing digital transformation challenges. Using logistic regression and mediation analysis, we conducted an in-depth analysis based on a sample of 2,824 client profiles and comprehensive social media behavioral validation using 53,187 Reddit posts. Our findings reveal that technology usage assessment capabilities, age-based segmentation strategies, and behavioral motivation evaluation are the primary factors influencing organizational effectiveness in client risk management. In particular, systematic technology assessment emerged as the most critical determinant, underscoring the importance of developing sophisticated behavioral analytics capabilities to address evolving digital client behaviors. The implications of our findings extend to organizational strategy, innovation, and future research directions in financial services management, offering valuable insights to improve institutional effectiveness and competitive positioning against evolving technology-mediated challenges.

Authors: Thi Kim Yen Pham, Duc Cuong Pham

DOI: 10.5267/j.msl.2019.7.017

Keywords: Diffusion Innovation, Technology Acceptance, Balanced scorecard, Vietnamese hospitality firms

Abstract:
Applying Roger's Theory of Diffusion Innovation (1962) and Davis's Model of Technology Acceptance (1986) [Davis, F.D. (1986). A technology acceptance model for empirically testing new end user information systems: theory and results. Doctoral dissertation. Cambridge, MA: Massachusetts Institute of Technology.], this study examines the factors that influence the decision-making of the enterprises in application of balanced scorecard (BSC) in Vietnamese hospitality firms. An analysis of 315 hotel managers indicates that managers' perceptions of usefulness and ability to acquire new knowledge significantly influence the decision to use the balanced scorecard in Vietnamese hospitality firms. The paper contributes lessons to literature and some valuable experiences of the BSC application to reality for not only firms in Vietnam but also the other business units in other countries.

Keywords: ICT adoption, Technology acceptance, Feature selection, Educational predictive analytics, Educational technology integration

Abstract:
Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) affect all aspects of our daily lives. Using them is considered a symbol of modernization and social advancement. The global expansion and interconnection of ICT offers a significant opportunity to promote the advancement of humanity, bridge the digital gap and promote the growth of societies built on knowledge. In this study, we analyzed and identified the most influential factors in the adoption of ICT in education from the data set called “Final Survey-Digital Inclusion Teachers” of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, which consists of 871 instances and 189 columns. We performed feature selection by carefully combining the results of three feature selection methods: filter (chi-square, ANO-VA and mutual information), wrapper (RFE) and intrinsic (Classification And Regression Trees, Random Forest, Gradient Boosting and XGBoost). The results demonstrated that a teacher's motivation for curricular planning that includes ICT, teaching experience and the institutional environment are key factors in the adoption of these technologies in education. Furthermore, we identified that the Random Forest algorithm is the most appropriate for analyzing and predicting the adoption of ICT in education, we affirmed this after this algorithm obtained the highest values in four of the six metrics evaluated: a sensitivity of 77.7%, an F1 Score of 77.9%, a Cohen's Kappa coefficient of 60.8% and a Jaccard Score of 64.3%. These results suggest that Random Forest is the most effective algorithm to analyze the factors related to the adoption of ICT in educational environments.

An exploration study on factors influencing acceptance of electronic banking industry Pages 1783-1788 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: Naser Azad, Seyed Mohsen Seyedaliakbar, Seyedeh Soroor Mousavirad, Seyedeh Nafiseh Mousavirad

Keywords: Banking industry, Electronic banking, Factor analysis, Technology acceptance

Abstract:
This paper presents an empirical investigation to detect important factors influencing on electronic banking adoption using factor analysis. The proposed study designed a questionnaire, distributed among 210 customers who were regular customers of four banks in city of Tehran, Iran named Saderat, Eghtesad Novin, Melli and Mellat. The questionnaire consists of 42 questions and since factor analysis is sensitive on skewness of data, we have decided to remove some of the questions and summarize it into 17 questions. Cronbach alpha was calculated as 0.80, which is well above the minimum acceptable limit and validates the results. The results of our survey indicate that four major factors including consistency, facilities, cost control and feasibility.
