The role of Islamic destination image in the development of KSA tourism attractiveness Pages 277-288 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: Imen Zrelli

DOI: 10.5267/j.uscm.2024.8.005

Keywords: Islamic Moderation (IM), Islamic Destination Image (IDI), Destination Attractiveness (DA), Tourism sector, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Abstract:
This research aims to analyze the importance of Islamic Moderation (IM), which is the most prominent factor in the tourism attractiveness of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This has made it an integrated and sustainable tourism destination throughout the year. The study applies a quantitative survey method and selects a probability sample of 470 questionnaires to collect data in the Jeddah region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, using a probability sampling method. After employing purposive sampling to select the participants, a structural equation model (SEM) is employed to analyze the data. The proposed theoretical framework is utilized to examine the mediating role of Islamic Destination Image (IDI), in the correlation between Islamic Moderation (IM) and Destination Attractiveness (DA). Upon revisiting previous research, the study discovers several studies that concentrate on the concepts, mechanisms, and characteristics of moderation, the significance of disseminating moderate thought, addressing extremist thought, and its impact on the economy and international and regional relations. An examination of the total effect yields the conclusion that Islamic Moderation (IM) has a positive impact on Destination Attractiveness (DA); this effect is both positive and strong, both directly and indirectly. The Islamic Moderation (IM) has a significant, positive, and significant impact on the Islamic Destination Image (IDI).

Flexible work environments in enhancing creativity and innovation within emerging projects in Saudi companies Pages 673-688 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: Abdulaziz D. Aldhehayan

DOI: 10.5267/j.jpm.2025.8.003

Keywords: Flexibility, Work environment, Creativity, Innovation, Startups, Entrepreneurship, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Abstract:
This study aims to explore the role of workplace flexibility in promoting creativity and innovation within emerging entrepreneurial projects in Saudi companies. The study adopted a descriptive approach to data analysis and used a questionnaire to collect data from a sample of (120) participants working in emerging entrepreneurial projects. The study included two axes (workplace flexibility and creativity and innovation). The results showed a high level of workplace flexibility among the study sample and a high level of creativity and innovation. Analyses revealed a positive relationship between workplace flexibility and creativity and innovation, indicating that providing a flexible work environment contributes to promoting creative behaviors within emerging entrepreneurial projects. The results did not reveal statistically significant differences in participants' responses attributable to demographic variables (job title, age of the entrepreneurial project, number of years of experience), which supports the generalizability of the results. The study presented a number of practical recommendations, most notably the adoption of flexible workplace policies and the development of work environments that stimulate innovation, which supports the success of entrepreneurial projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

DOI: 10.5267/j.dsl.2019.2.001

Keywords: Artificial Neural Networks (ANN), Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA), Forecasting, Export and Import, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Abstract:
Nowadays, Saudi government has established several strategic tactics such as Saudi Vision 2030 to predict the future of the country. In order to accomplish a superior growth in the economy of the country, mathematical model and forecasting techniques are important tools. In this study, total annual exports and imports of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are forecasted using Artificial Neural Network (ANN) and Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) models. This paper tries to predict a time series data using ANN and ARIMA models on total annual exports and imports of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from the year 1968 to the year 2017 with the help of statistical software XLSTAT. The applied models are used to predict some future values of total annual exports and imports of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is found that the ANN and ARIMA (1, 1, 2) and ARIMA (0, 1, 1) models are suitable for predicting the total annual exports and imports of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

DOI: 10.5267/j.uscm.2018.11.005

Keywords: Port Supply Chain Integration, Human Resource Practices, Port performance, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Abstract:
The primary objective of this paper is to investigate the mediation role of port supply chain integration between Human Resource Management (HRM) practices and port performance (PP) in Kingdome of Saudi Arabia. The present study employed partial lest square structural equation modeling technique to analyze the collected data. The study found some positive significant direct relationship between HRP, port supply chain integration (PSCI) and PP. Besides, this study also found some positive and significant relationship between HRP and PSCI. Additionally, the study confirms the mediating role of PSCI between HRP and PP. The study contributes to the literature and to the practice of ports to understand how the process of HRP and PSCI produces better port performance.

Keywords: Financial Orientation, Orientation towards Finance, Behavioral Finance, ORTOFIN, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Saving and Investment pattern, Financial Management Behavior Scale (FMBS)

Abstract:
The main objective of the study was to find out the relationship between saving and investment pattern and orientation towards finance among the working women at the universities of Saudi Arabia. Orientation towards finance (ORTOFIN) is one's attitude towards effectively managing financial activities. This attitude is backed by individual behavior toward financial management. ORTOFIN scale was made as a construct to measure the behavioral dispositions of individuals that are connected to their behavior patterns towards finance and orientations. The data was collected using the ORTOFIN scale which was constructed and used in the European population as well as validated using standard procedures into the Asian population. The present study concentrates on the working women at the Universities of Saudi Arabia. The data collected from 192 women employees of different Universities in Saudi Arabia. This study states there is a significant positive relationship among the saving and investment pattern and orientation towards finance among the working women at the universities of Saudi Arabia. The finding of the study revealed Financial Management Behavior act as a major contributor to the orientation towards finance and the factor of personnel planning is another significant contributor towards ORTOFIN.
