The role of mental accounting and financial attitudes in shaping financial behavior among entrepreneurial students using fintech Pages 123-132 PDF Download PDF

Authors: Wirawan Endro Dwi Radianto, Heribertus Andre Purwanugraha, Heru Kristanto, Tommy Christian Efrata, Ika Raharja Salim

doi 10.5267/j.dsl.2024.10.008

๐Ÿ”‘ Keywords: Financial Technology, Mental accounting, Financial attitude, Financial knowledge, Financial self-efficacy, Financial behavior

Abstract:
This study examines the influence of mental accounting, financial attitudes, financial knowledge, and financial self-efficacy on the financial behavior of diligent students in using fintech. This study differs from previous research because it uses a sample of students who already have a business and often use fintech. Data collection was carried out through the distribution of questionnaires to respondents. This study found that financial attitudes and self-efficacy had a significant effect on financial behavior, while financial knowledge had no significant effect on financial self-efficacy and mental accounting. Mental accounting significantly affects financial attitudes, financial behavior, and financial self-efficacy. These findings prove the importance of mental accounting in increasing the confidence and effectiveness of students who often use fintech and have a business in making financial decisions. This research contributes to developing the theory of planned behavior in the context of financial behavior. It reveals that financial literacy does not necessarily increase financial self-efficacy and mental accounting, especially among students who often use fintech and are just starting a business.

๐Ÿ”‘ Keywords: Big Data Governance, Financial Technology, Jordanian Commercial Banks, PLS-SEM

Abstract:
Big data has become much more widely used in recent years, particularly in the banking sector. Banks have begun to use big data to enhance customer experience, optimize operations, and create novel products and services. This study investigates the effect of big data governance on financial technology in Jordanian commercial banks. The study focuses on the four dimensions of big data governance: strategy and planning, ethics and social responsibility, data quality and management, and infrastructure and architecture. Additionally, the study considers the mediating role of organizational culture in the relationship between big data governance and financial technology. Primary data were collected from 250 IT employees working in Jordanian commercial banks, and the data were analyzed using PLS-SEM. The study findings indicate that big data governance has a significant positive effect on financial technology in Jordanian commercial banks. Additionally, it has been discovered that organizational culture partially mediates the relationship between big data governance and financial technology, emphasizing the significance of creating a culture that encourages the efficient use of data in fintech. In the context of Jordanian commercial banks, this study presents empirical evidence for the connection between big data governance and financial technology. The results indicate that big data governance measures should be applied while taking organizational culture into account as a potential mediator of the effects on financial technology. This study offers guidance on how to successfully integrate big data governance policies in commercial banks to advance financial technology for bank managers and policymakers.

The nexus of inclusive finance, institutional governance, and FinTech adoption in the banking industry: A systematic review of project implementation dynamics Pages 89-106 PDF Download PDF

Authors: Muhammad Arslan, Javed Ahmed, Altaf Hussain, Noor Maimun Abdul Wahab

doi 10.5267/j.ijdns.2026.29

๐Ÿ”‘ Keywords: FinTech Adoption, Financial Inclusion, Institutional Governance, Digital Banking, Financial Technology, PRISMA, TCCM Framework

Abstract:
This systematic review synthesizes 40 peer-reviewed studies to examine the role of inclusive finance and institutional governance in FinTech adoption in Pakistan's banking sector. While user-centric behavioural models are the dominant narrative in global discourse, this review highlights the underappreciated role of institutional trust, regulatory design, and structural inclusion in the scalability of FinTech ecosystems. The paper identifies four thematic clusters using PRISMA and TCCM frameworks, namely, user-level drivers, governance enablers, financial inclusion mechanisms, and integrated adoption frameworks. Findings suggest that inclusion should be reimagined not just as an objective but also as a prerequisite to digital finance, and quality of governance directly moderates trust and adoption behaviour. The study presents an original conceptual framework that links ecosystem-level conditions and adoption dynamics, highlighting the need for multi-level theoretical approaches that incorporate behavioural, institutional, and infrastructural dimensions. Implications are drawn for policymakers, FinTech innovators, and financial regulators who are looking for inclusive, trusted, and sustainable digital finance solutions in emerging markets.

doi 10.5267/j.sci.2025.5.004

๐Ÿ”‘ Keywords: Large Language Models, Finance, Stock Market, Scientometrics, Bibliometric Analysis, Financial Technology, NLP, AI in Finance

Abstract:
The deployment of Large Language Models (LLMs) in the financial field is one of the most forward-looking and quickly changing AI research areas. This paper presents a thorough scientometric study of the top 200 most cited articles, which deal with the conjunction of LLMs, finance, and stock markets, and are indexed in Scopus. The analysis carries out a detailed examination of the publication patterns, influential authors and institutions, main research areas, methods used, and the intellectual framework of this new field. The disclose of the research output has been increased enormously; the main form of it is conference papers, and it is all through collaboration between the global academic and industrial research centers. Financial sentiment analysis and market prediction, the building and evaluating of domain-specific financial LLMs (FinLLMs), and lastly the application of the mentioned FinLLMs in areas such as financial analytics and decision-making support are examples of research that has been clustered together. Nevertheless, a big part of the research is directed towards trust, ethics, and risks in the financial domain. Moreover, the study points out that practical applications, such as algorithmic trading, risk management, and compliance with regulations, are among the most highlighted in the fields of LLMs in finance. This scientometric review offers a primary map of the vast conceptual territory marked by high-impact research, which means it can be very helpful to researchers, practitioners, and policymakers in getting a better understanding of the existing situation and thus, pointing out future research directions in the area of LLMs in finance.
