Abstract:
This research studied the effect of adding dioctyl phthalate (DOP) on the low- velocity impact properties of unsaturated polyester composites (UPR) reinforced with hybrid fibers (glass-hemp fibers). To achieve this objective, DOP was added to unsaturated polyester at percentages of 1%, 3%, 5%, and 7%. Samples were prepared reinforced with five layers of random glass fibers and two hemp layers (top and bottom). These samples were then subjected to repeated impact testing three times using a drop ball apparatus. The initial impact tests showed that adding DOP up to 5% improved impact resistance, while increasing the added percentage led to an increase in deformation values. Repeated impact tests (first, second, and third) revealed that all samples remained intact but exhibited varying deformation values. The sample containing 5% DOP showed the lowest deformation percentage at 25.17%. A strong correlation was also observed between the rebound coefficient and the added DOP percentage.

Abstract:
Artemisia herba-alba is a perennial herbaceous plant belonging to the Asteraceae family. It is used in folk medicine to treat many nervous and digestive disorders, as well as diabetes. It possesses antioxidant, antifungal and anti-inflammatory properties. The chemical composition of the organic extracts obtained from the leaves of the Syrian Artemisia herba-alba plant was analysed using a Soxhlet extraction device and three solvents with varying degrees of polarity (petroleum ether, chloroform and ethyl acetate). The chemical constituents of the three extracts were determined using GC/MS technology. In the petroleum ether extract (Ah1), 38 compounds were identified, while the chloroform extract (Ah2) contained 39 compounds, and the ethyl acetate extract (Ah3) contained 45 compounds. The most significant compounds in the Ah1 extract were longiverbenone (23.9%), heneicosane (18.2%), 3,3,6-trimethyl-1,5-heptadien-4-one (16.5%), caryophyllene oxide (5.8%), and octacosane (4.6%). In the Ah2 extract, the main constituents were dioctyl hexanedioate (13.2%), (Z,Z) 9,12-octadecadienoyl chloride (7.3%), and (-)-spathulenol (7.1%). The primary compounds in the Ah3 extract were pentanoic acid (9.5%), geranyl isovalerate (9.3%), 2-butyl-1-octanol (7.5%), and 1-heptadecene (6.4%).

Abstract:
In this research, new azochalcone derivatives (6, 7) were synthesized by using three methods: the first one is diazotization - coupling method of different aromatic amines (sulfanilic acid, 2-aminopyridine) with chalcone (5), the second, aldol condensation method of azoaryl hydroxyacetophenone compounds with 4-dimethylamino benzaldehyde in presence of sodium hydroxide as a catalyst, the last one is method of aldol condensation of azoaryl hydroxyacetophenone compounds with 4-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde in presence of piperidine as an organic catalyst. The yield was the best by using the aldol condensation method with sodium hydroxide as a catalyst. New azoflavone derivatives (8, 9) with good yields (78-84 %) were also synthesized by performing cyclization reactions of azochalcone derivatives using iodine in dimethyl sulfoxide. The identity of the new compounds was determined using spectroscopic methods (FT-IR, 13C-NMR, 1H-NMR).

Abstract:
This research introduces an eco-friendly green Reverse-Phase High Performance Liquid Chromatography (RP-HPLC) method for detecting and quantifying meropenem trihydrate. Traditional methods use buffered solutions, gradient mobile phases, and longer retention times, but this method offers a rapid RP-HPLC technique with a C8 column and isocratic mobile phase (60% methanol, 40% ultra-pure water), eliminating the need for buffers and acetonitrile. It features a short 2.1-minute retention time and a high r² value of 0.9995. It delivers accuracy (101.1-102.3%) and precision (RSD ≤ 2%), coupled with low LOD and LOQ values of 1.72 and 5.20 µg/ml. Aqueous dilution simplifies sample preparation, reducing degradation and interference. The method is compared with an HPTLC method, showing an extended linear range (6.25-200 µg/ml for HPLC, 7.81-62.5 µg/ml for TLC) and high sensitivity, making it significant for meropenem trihydrate quality control in bulk and dosage forms.
