Abstract: This study aims to investigate the impact of logistic management on maritime transportation Service Performance in Oman. According to the resource-based view theory, firms with an inward organizational focus believe that performance stems from unique resources and capabilities specific to the firm. Based on this premise, successful companies aim to cultivate distinctive capabilities, often of intangible nature, to drive future competitiveness. This descriptive study examines the impact of logistic management on maritime transportation service performance. Based on a non- probability sample of 200 respondents from logistics and maritime transport service companies. The relationship between variables was analyzed using structural calculation modeling. The results showed that five out of the nine hypotheses were all positively and significantly supported (supply to services quality, transportation to cost, transportation to services quality, transportation to time and warehousing to cost). While the relationship between (supply to cost, supply to time, warehousing to service quality, warehousing to time) were not supported. The study focuses on the one maritime service provider in Oman, thus precluding the generalizability of findings to other logistics service or logistics areas. Abstract: In Indonesia, the success of coal extraction largely depends on the role of mining contractors. One of these successes is determined by proper asset management amidst uncertainty in the coal business, such as sustainability and digitalization issues. However, research that identifies the role of asset management in improving the performance of mining projects is still rare. Therefore, this research investigates the impact of Information technology capability, sustainability practices, and asset management on improving the performance of coal mining contractor projects in Indonesia. This research uses quantitative methods, with questionnaire data filled in by 128 project managers of mining contractor projects spread across Indonesia and analyzed by applying structural equation modeling (SEM). The findings indicate that Information technology capability and sustainability practices have a substantial and beneficial effect on improving asset management, which then enhances the performance of mining contractors. Interestingly, there is no direct impact of Information technology capability and sustainability practices on the operational performance of mining projects, so asset management is highly needed. The originality of this study is in the recognition of asset management as a valuable asset for firms that have integrated Information technologies & sustainability practices, as it promotes improved operational performance of projects, and there is still rarely any previous research that examines sustainability practices and asset management, especially mining projects. This research contributes to developing the resource-based view (RBV) theory and also contributes managerially to the practices that mining contractors must carry out when dealing with uncertain business situations. Abstract: This study aims to examine the mediating role of social media marketing effectiveness in the relationship between customer engagement dimensions (cognitive, emotional, behavioral, transactional, and social) and brand loyalty in the context of Amazon as a retail brand store. A quantitative approach was adopted, employing a survey-based method to collect data from 320 consumers who engage with Amazon as a retail brand store on social media platforms. Findings reveal positive effects of cognitive, emotional, transactional, and social engagement on brand loyalty and social media marketing effectiveness. However, behavioral engagement exhibited a negative impact. Social media marketing effectiveness positively influenced brand loyalty and mediated the relationships between customer engagement dimensions and brand loyalty. This study contributes to literature by challenging assumptions and providing insights into the interplay among customer engagement dimensions, social media marketing effectiveness, and brand loyalty. This offers brands the opportunity to promote and increase their awareness with the use of social media to interact with existing customer base that will boost loyalty in the long run. Only a few studies have examined social media marketing effectiveness as a mediator between customer engagement dimensions and brand loyalty. Therefore, this work endeavors to fill this gap by investigating consumer engagement, social media marketing and brand loyalty in an age when the internet plays an important role. Abstract: The present research investigates the use of omnichannel retailing and its influence on the Jordanian market, focusing on four important dimensions: integration, fulfilment, usability, and seamlessness. This study attempts to answer how strategies of omnichannel affect purchase-decisions and satisfaction of customers among students at private universities in Jordan as expectations for integrated purchase experiences that combine physical and digital channels continue to rise. Using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM), this study empirically examines the relationships between various dimensions of omnichannel retailing and consumer decision-making. The findings reveal that strong integration across sales channels, fast delivery options, simple interfaces, and seamless transitions significantly enhance consumer decision-making. This underscores the importance of robust infrastructure facilities, dependable information availability options, flexible fulfillment methods, user-friendly interface designs as well as a smooth customer support system which all together make for a great shopping experience. Thus, local retailers are given clear recommendations to invest in current systems by diversifying their delivery alternatives, improving mobile platforms, and using data analytics to match marketing efforts. Abstract: Coal mining is a very important sector in Indonesia, but there has been a decline in the realization of coal production in recent years, so this can reduce state revenues. One of the big challenges in the mining sector is the uncertainty of the mining business, such as information technology and sustainability concerns, that affect the mining industry's supply chain procedure. The purpose of this examination is to identify and determine the performance of supply chain resilience in the face of business uncertainty by determining the function of IT capabilities and sustainability practices in coal mining contractors. This research was conducted using a quantitative research method approach that was carried out using a structured survey instrument. The methodology employed in this study is built on purposive sampling, which is a non-probability selection method. The researchers used the Structural Equation Model (SEM) to examine data that were gathered from a sample of 128 project managers of coal mining contractors in Indonesia. The findings of this study demonstrated that project operational performance was significantly and favorably impacted by supply chain resilience. Additionally, a major and advantageous mediating IT skill in the operational execution of projects is supply chain resilience. Furthermore, it was shown that the use of IT capacity and the implementation of sustainability practices had a noteworthy and favorable influence on enhancing the performance of mining contractor projects. This research also provides information that environmental dynamism does not significantly moderate supply chain resilience on mining project performance. The novelty of this research is the contribution of supply chain resilience as an important resource for organizations that are integrated with IT capabilities to encourage increased project operational performance, especially for coal mining contractors. Additionally, research is still rarely carried out in between sustainability practices and supply chain resilience in the mining sector. It is concluded that coal mining contractor projects need to build supply chain resilience at the site amidst the uncertainty of the coal mining business. Abstract: Slow fashion is a new movement in the textile industry, where slow production mode and more ethical business processes are highly considered. This movement is an alternative to buying fast fashion productsto achieve a sustainable pattern. The theory of planned behavior also includes attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavior control, which are commonly used to analyze the patterns of green attitudinal variables through other additional principles, namelythe willingness to pay a premium, consumer effectiveness, and environmental knowledge. Therefore, this study analyzed factors influencing purchase intention of slow-fashion products. In this analysis, a randomized questionnaire was implemented and distributed to 140 Generation Z people in West Java Province, Indonesia. Structural equation modelingwas also used to test the fit model and path analysis of attitudes mediating green products knowledge on the intensity of buying slow-fashion products. The results showed that the three main variables of TPB and other influential/significant expanding principles were observed, except consumers' perceived effectiveness did not affect purchase intention. The limitations also prioritized the need for more experimental loci capable of being developed at different points. Moreover, the results obtained were beneficial for both academic and managerial purposes. This proved that green product purchasing behavior analysis needs to be academically improved, specifically for slow-fashion in developing countries. Managerial suggestions also increased green knowledge of fashion products through descriptive analysis. These suggestions enhanced consumers' understanding of the effective reduction of textile waste by purchasing fashion products. Abstract: We assess the cooperative network design's efficiency outcomes in Morocco's food wholesale distribution. Before joining the collaborative coalition, we provide decision-makers with an initial preference instrument to assess the environmental and financial effects of cooperative freight distribution. We assess the practicality of incorporating decisions from the Facility Location Problem (FLP) and Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) into partnerships for sustainable freight transportation. The coalition utilizes a 3PL provider's fleet of cars, therefore the Vehicles are exempt from having to go back to the consolidation depot; as a result, the fundamental issue becomes an open location routing problem (OLRP). Although there have been several studies on open location-routing problems, their application to horizontal shipper collaboration is new. For diverse collaboration scenarios, our computational approach is founded on two-echelon OLRP under a multiple objective and periods’ framework. Every shipper involved in the partnership needs to receive gains. Therefore, evaluating the benefits to each individual shipper is essential for an effective and durable collaboration. This study addresses the issue of profit allocation to determine the collective and individual shipper's savings. By considering not just economic variables but also environmental factors, the Open LRP may help firms plan and optimize their collaborative supply chains in a more sustainable manner. Abstract: This study seeks to explore how dynamic capabilities and innovation impact competitiveness within the Indonesian manufacturing sector. It specifically investigates how Domestic Component Level (DCL) certification, influenced by government involvement, mediates this relationship. The focus is on how government support shapes the certification process, ultimately affecting competitiveness. Through quantitative methods and surveys conducted among 344 manufacturing firms holding DCL certification in Indonesia, the research finds that while enhanced dynamic capabilities may not directly correlate with increased competitiveness, they play a crucial role in a company's journey toward competitiveness, requiring a gradual process. Additionally, companies with higher DCL values are better positioned to compete for government contracts and services. Abstract: Even though entrepreneurial firms make substantial contributions to both domestic and global economies and innovations, there is disagreement in the literature regarding how open innovation affects these firms' ability to succeed. The current research is an attempt to address the gaps by analyzing the intricacies and dynamics of entrepreneurial firms’ involvement in Open Innovation. Furthermore, the impact on performance is examined from a knowledge perspective. In Jordanian context, this study analyzed the link between stakeholder interactions, knowledge management, open innovation, and the performance of entrepreneurial firms. The findings demonstrated that open innovation activities are statistically significant to the overall performance of entrepreneurial firms. However, since it has an unintentional detrimental effect over the performance of entrepreneurial firms in Jordan, the moderating effect of stakeholder relations and the mediation effect of knowledge management has been analyzed. The moderating role of stakeholder relationships has been proven statistically which enriched the theoretical foundations of RBV and contingency theory by adding stakeholders’ theory into the combination of the two theories, at the end limitations and guidelines for future research along with practical implications are emphasized. ||
Abstract: This study examines the impact of customer relationship management (CRM) practices and social media marketing (SMM) activities on customer retention among MSMEs in Aceh. It considers the dual role of social media in relationship management (CRM) and business engagement (SMM). Recognizing the widespread use of social media, the study explores different stages of its adoption and utilization in business. A formalized social media business profile is used as the moderating variable, defined by a firm's formal allocation of responsibility, outsourcing, funding, governance of social media, and broader changes to structure, processes, leadership, training, and culture. Data was collected from 565 MSMEs using questionnaires and analyzed with partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) and multi-group analysis. The results demonstrated a high predictive power of the model on customer retention. Within CRM, the findings indicated a significant difference in the effect of key customer focus on customer retention, with higher effects observed in MSMEs that do not formalize their social media business profiles. Additionally, technology-based CRM showed significantly higher effects on customer retention for those who formalize their social media profiles. Within SMM, the study revealed significant differences in the effects of customization and trendiness on customer retention, both of which were more pronounced in MSMEs without formalized social media profiles. Furthermore, word-of-mouth had a significantly higher impact on customer retention for MSMEs with formalized social media profiles. This research contributes theoretically by developing an integrated framework that identifies how key customer focus, CRM organization, knowledge management, technology-based CRM, customization, entertainment, interaction, trendiness, and word-of-mouth influence customer retention. It also explores the moderating effects of formalized social media business profiles on CRM practices and SMM activities within MSMEs. Abstract: The study aims to investigate the moderating role of Organizational Readiness (OR) in the relationship between Supply Chain Agility (SCA) and Blockchain Adoption Intention (BAI) among these SMEs, drawing on the Resource-Based View (RBV) theory. The study adopts a positivist approach and a cross-sectional design to explore how organizational readiness moderates blockchain adoption in Saudi SMEs. It uses a quantitative methodology, surveying decision-makers from SMEs engaged in supply chain activities to gather data. Data analysis is performed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The study's findings indicate that Operational Supply Chain Transparency (OSCT) impacts Supply Chain Alignment (SCL), Supply Chain Adaptability (SCD), SCA, and BAI. Moreover, there is a positive influence of SCL on SCD and SCA. SCA also significantly influences BAI. Furthermore, the moderation analysis shows that OR significantly affects the SCA-BAI relationship, indicating that higher OR amplifies the positive impact of supply chain agility on blockchain adoption intention, underscoring the critical roles of supply chain factors and OR in blockchain adoption among SMEs. Based on the RBV theory, the study delves into how constructs like SCL, OSCT, SCD, and SCA are influenced by blockchain technology. It assesses the extent to which these factors would impact the propensity of SMEs to implement blockchain yet explores the moderating influence of OR on this dynamic. Abstract: Business incubators contribute to the development of entrepreneurship, innovation, and regional economy. However, in developing countries, implementation faces challenges and obstacles that threaten the success and sustainability of their operations. This research examines the influence of incubator resources, service capabilities, and government support on the success of business incubators. We conducted a national survey and used structural equation modelling analysis to test hypotheses on a sample representing seventy-six percent of the business incubator population in Indonesia, one of the developing countries in Asia. Empirical evidence shows that most incubators in Indonesia are non-profit, university-based, and technology business incubators. The incubator's resources and government support impact its service capabilities. However, the incubator's resources and government support do not directly impact its success. The novelty is that service capability acts as a full mediating variable on the influence of government support and incubator resources on the success of business incubators. The final section outlines managerial implications and future research directions. Abstract: This research endeavors to ascertain the extent to which a knowledge-centered culture fosters the propensity for knowledge sharing within private universities. Furthermore, it seeks to discern the specific facets of the Big Five Personality Traits model that wield a moderating influence on the intricate nexus between knowledge-centered culture and the inclination to share knowledge. The methodology entailed the judicious application of stratified proportionate random sampling to solicit data, with academic staff from private universities constituting the respondent pool. The acquisition of research data transpired through the administration of a self-conducted questionnaire. The outcomes of this investigation unveil a positive correlation between a knowledge-centered culture and the propensity for knowledge sharing—a pivotal finding with far-reaching implications. Moreover, the findings illuminate that individuals exhibiting higher levels of extraversion and conscientiousness play a constructive moderating role in the interplay between knowledge-centered culture and knowledge-sharing behavior. Conversely, those with elevated scores in openness tend to exert a counterproductive moderating influence on this relationship. Intriguingly, the research also establishes that personality traits like agreeableness and neuroticism do not wield significant influence, as they fail to confer any notable moderating effect within the context of the correlation between knowledge-centered culture and knowledge-sharing behavior. The implications of this study are manifold and extend to the realm of academic leadership, offering a nuanced framework to devise policies and strategies that bolster knowledge sharing among academicians by fostering a nurturing knowledge culture. The findings also hold salience for upper echelons of private sector universities, especially within developing nations, and for policymakers seeking to sculpt and enact efficacious policies conducive to augmenting knowledge-sharing behavior. This, in turn, is anticipated to catalyze heightened work performance and operational efficiency. , Pages: 2595-2606 Tahir Iqbal and Tarig Khidir Eltayeb Nourelhadi PDF (360K) |
||
Abstract: Incorporating sustainability principles into Supply Chain Management (SCM) has received considerable attention in recent years, with a particular emphasis on Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM), which aims to reduce environmental consequences. Saudi Arabia has launched sustainability initiatives; however, the application of green SCM methods in SMEs in Saudi Arabian manufacturing has yet to be explored. Therefore, this research aimed to empirically assess the effect of GSCM in promoting environmental sustainability in Saudi manufacturing SMEs, focusing on the mediating function of operations analytics. Therefore, this study used a quantitative research technique to discover the link between the study variables—a rigorous questionnaire obtained primary data from managers and team leaders. SPSS was used for descriptive statistics, while SMARTPLS was used for structural equation modelling. The measurement model, path analysis, and indirect impact analysis were used to validate the research constructs and analyze the hypothesized associations. The findings support the evidence of direct positive links between green manufacturing, green business practices, eco-design and environmental sustainability in Saudi manufacturing SMEs. Conversely, no evidence was found to support the function of operations analytics as a bridge between green SCM and environmental sustainability. Although operations analytics can improve green SCM processes, more studies are needed to understand its full impact on environmental sustainability outcomes. Abstract: This study examines how corporate governance dimensions relate to financial performance in Jordanian firms and whether ownership structure moderates these relationships. Quantitative analysis was conducted using secondary data on 69 companies listed on the Amman Stock Exchange from 2017-2022. Multivariate regression tested effects of board, transparency, ethics, and compliance indices on performance measured by Tobin's Q, ROA, and ROE. Moderated regression analyzed the contingency role of ownership concentration. Board size, independence, transparency, ethical conduct and legal compliance had significant positive impacts on valuations and profitability, supporting agency and stakeholder perspectives. Ownership concentration strengthened board monitoring but dampened transparency effects. The findings highlight the importance of governance practices like board oversight, disclosure and ethics for improving Jordanian firms' performance. Ownership contingencies suggest adapting governance mechanisms to concentrated structures. This study provides rare empirical evidence on the under-researched Jordanian context. Examining interactive effects of ownership brings new insights regarding concentrated emerging markets. Abstract: The blue swimming crabs (BSC) fishing industry in Indonesia is heading towards an imbalance between demand and sustainability of its resources, a factor in supply. The mismanagement of traceability data and information in the supply chain is suspected to be one of the causes adding to the complexity of recent BSC fisheries management. This research aimed to identify BSC supply chain patterns and their issues, especially on two coastal regencies on the North Coast of the Java Sea. The research was conducted during June and December 2023 in Cirebon Regency and Rembang Regency. The study enlisted 70 participants, comprising fishermen, traders, processors, and exporters, with data acquisition facilitated through surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions. Respondent selection employed purposive sampling, while snowball sampling identified pertinent informants within the supply chain. Data analysis encompassed qualitative description and Likert-type scale perception analysis. The findings show that the BSC fishing industry on the North Coast of the Java Sea operates as small-scale fisheries (SSF), with unique vessel types, gear, and socioeconomic conditions crucial for livelihoods. Fishermen prioritize sustainability by using small vessels and traditional gear despite limited education. The BSC supply chain involves stakeholders offering high-value products, yet by-product utilization potential is untapped, requiring improved coordination and innovation. Challenges include export standards, market fluctuations, and product safety, addressed through regulatory support and collaboration. Government regulations, fishermen groups, and data traceability enhance market transparency and sustainability. Therefore, collective action and innovative approaches are vital for long-term economic prosperity and environmental stewardship in the BSC supply chain. Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to empirically investigate the effect of sustainability knowledge dimensions which are recycling knowledge, reuse knowledge and use efficiently knowledge on sustainability intention, attitude and behavior toward water consumption. This study is important while it is the first empirical study that has examined the links between a set of sustainable water consumption concepts within an “water-poor,” Arab developing country context. A conceptual model of the connections between the above-mentioned factors was developed and the posited hypotheses were tested using a survey data set of 512 questionnaires collected from consumers in Jordan. The findings show that use efficiently knowledge has the strongest effect on sustainable intention, followed by recycling knowledge and reuse knowledge. Moreover, use efficiently knowledge has the strongest effect on a sustainable attitude followed by reuse knowledge and recycling knowledge. Additionally, sustainable intention has a stronger effect on sustainable behavior than sustainable attitude. Such results would provide useful insights for policymakers, nonprofit organizations, and businesses to integrate themes of sustainable behavior into their policies and programs, thereby facilitating better progress toward the sustainability of water resources in developing countries. Abstract: There is increased adoption of renewable energy, particularly photovoltaic (PV), as a major source of clean and environmentally friendly energy. With the wide application of PV technologies, commonly called solar panels, their appropriate maintenance and cleaning are vital for optimum PV energy generation. The research focuses on exploring the various factors attributed to influence the want, intention and need to use PV panel cleaning robots in Thailand from an institutional management perspective. The study adopted the extended C-TAM-TPB by adding three more variables - Trust in technology, awareness of renewable energy, and environmental concern. A quantitative approach was used, where primary data was collected from PV institutional users. A population sample of 411 respondents was used. The confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) came in handy in evaluating the performance model, with the study's hypotheses being evaluated by the structural equation modeling (SEM). Results indicated that most of the subjective behaviors, perceived behavioral controls, and trust in technology played a key role in determining the intention and need to use solar panel cleaning robots. Perceived usefulness was found to have significant influence towards PV panel adoption. The influence of attitude was mediated by several factors – environmental concern, renewable energy awareness, trust in technology. The study recommended that the institutional users of solar panels should consider investing in knowledge regarding perceived behavioral control, developing confidence in the use of renewable and sustainable energy, and developing trust of the renewable and sustainable energy technologies. This could be achieved through programs such as public awareness, sharing accurate information regarding solar panel cleaning robots, and providing support and after sales support. Educational initiatives to change users' attitudes toward renewable energy technologies were recommended. Abstract: This study aims at investigating the roles of supply chain integration and innovation on supply chain performance through a mediation mechanism of supply chain. This study develops a theoretical framework based on resource-based view and dynamic capability theory. Based on a quantitative study of 214 Saudi hospitals, an empirical analysis was made using a structural equation modelling with AMOS. Results revealed that supply chain integration and innovation positively affect supply chain resilience and performance. In addition, supply chain resilience has a positive and significant relationship with supply chain performance. Most significantly, the relationships of supply chain integration and of innovation to supply chain performance were found to be partially mediated by supply chain resilience. These results showed that integration and innovation have direct effects to improve supply chain performance and indirect ones when hospitals make efforts in developing their resilience. This study is important for top managers of Saudi hospitals to integrate their supply chains and innovate them to improve their resilience and performance. Abstract: The study relied on analyzing the relationship between several factors that represent technological factors (Technology orientation, Utilizing new knowledge Technology Adoption, Knowledge compatibility, Technological capabilities and Technological collaboration) as independent factors and the level of performance as a dependent factor in medium and small-sized companies in the UAE economy. The inferential approach was followed in the study by analyzing the significance of the sampling results that were reached using structural equations based on the Partial Least Squares method (Pls) using the Smart Plus package, which was used to analyze the path between the six factors as independent factors and the performance factor as a dependent factor. The study applied this methodology to a sample of 250 individuals working in medium and small-sized companies in the UAE economy. The study concluded that the most closely related to performance was Technological Collaboration with an effect size of 72.3%. However, the least related factor was Technology orientation, with an effect factor of 34.4%, while the correlation of the other four factors with performance was medium (between 50% and 63%).
