Understanding the role of digital information in enhancing education in UAE: An investigation of the factors that drive continuous adoption
, Pages: 513-522 Khadija Alhumaid and Mouna AAssali PDF (650K) |
||
Abstract: Digital information has had a significant impact on higher education, transforming the way students learn and interact with course materials, professors, and their peers. Education systems that place a high priority on learning satisfaction and tutor quality frequently ignore the problem of limited access to digital information and technology. In this study, we provide an integrated model that examines how the TAM constructs of digital information in education (DIE) are affected by digital information flow, technological readiness, learning satisfaction, and tutor quality. We provide information on the results of a project evaluation that examined how digital information is used in higher education. We gathered information from a survey of 594 college students to validate our model and hypothesis. Our research suggests that external factors that improve users' technological readiness and learning satisfaction may have an impact on how valuable they perceive DIE to be. A user's traits, particularly their level of technological preparedness, have a significant impact on how simple technology is to use. The user's perceived usefulness of the technology may also be further enhanced in some cultures by the tutor’s perceived excellence. External elements like the flow of information may have a significant impact on the intention to use technology. Abstract: This study investigated the impact of social media marketing on Garuda Indonesia's airline customers' brand equity (awareness, image, and loyalty) and online word-of-mouth during the epidemic (E-WOM). In part of the study, 100 frequent Instagram users and passengers on Garuda Indonesia aircraft were questioned or given questionnaires. The data was processed and analyzed by SEM-PLS and the SmartPLS 3.0 software. The findings of the study indicate that social media marketing increases brand recognition, brand image, and brand loyalty. Brand loyalty or reputation has one significant impact on e-WOM as well. While brand recognition has nothing to do with E-WOM. Furthermore, the results of this research definitely point to the importance of the impact on E-WOM while brand recognition has no impact on E-WOM. The study's conclusions also highlight the importance of mediating variables including brand awareness, brand image, and brand loyalty. This study can prove that almost all moderating effect variables are involved in mediating social media marketing on Garuda Indonesia's e-WOM airline, except the brand awareness variable, which has no indirect effect or has no impact on the relationship between social media marketing and E-WOM. The results of this study should be relevant to a social media strategy, particularly for Garuda Indonesia Airlines. Abstract: Cocoa is a plantation commodity whose role is essential for the economy, so it is necessary to be aware of its health to maximize production. Cocoa plant disease data is a time series data because it is observed continuously. One of the time series forecasting models is the Fuzzy Time Series Markov Chain (FTS-MC), a combination of the Fuzzy Time Series (FTS) and Markov Chain models. The model uses the principle of fuzzy logic by transferring FTS data to fuzzy logic and using the obtained fuzzy logic groups to derive the Markov chain transition matrix. In this research, a Python script of the FTS-MC model was built in the Google Colaboratory to forecast the number of cocoa plant diseases in Bendungan District to simplify and speed up the data processing. Python was used in this research because of its easy-to-use, flexible, and open-source syntax. In building Python scripts, libraries and functions are needed by utilizing loop processes and if-else statements. Based on the processing results, forecasting with the FTS-MC model using Python only takes less than 1 minute. Abstract: The aim of this study was to investigate and identify the influence of performance expectation, effort expectation, and perceived usefulness on the usage of electronic banking services by Jordanian bank customers. The study used a quantitative method, with questionnaires administered to Jordanian bank clients. The statistics support the association between performance expectation, effort expectation, perceived utility, and the usage of electronic banking services. This implies that these characteristics have a major influence on Jordanian bank customers' electronic banking services. The association between performance expectation and use of electronic banking services is the strongest, followed by effort expectation and use of electronic banking services, and the poorest between perceived usefulness and use of electronic banking services. Even the most tenuous association (perceived usefulness and use of electronic banking services) is statistically significant. These findings also imply that banks seeking to boost the usage of electronic banking services should concentrate on improving consumers' perceptions of performance and effort expectations, as well as perceived usefulness. Abstract: The Internet of Things (IoT) is one of the most evolving technologies, which has a major impact on our daily life. Almost all new devices will have a feature to be connected and controlled over the Internet. Several applications are utilizing IoT to enhance routine processes and actions efficiently. The Internet of Vehicles (IoV) evolved from IoT, where vehicles communicate with each other or with other objects to have a better transportation environment to reduce the number of accidents and save people’s lives. IoV is considered new fields that need security requirements including confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, and trust. Trust management technique is used to validate entities behaviors automatically against well-defined policies. The major categories of trust model in IoV are based on entity, data, or a combination of both. This paper proposes a trust model which is based on a combination of entity and data to define the trust of vehicles and utilize the public key infrastructure to distribute certificates to vehicles. Based on certificate validation, messages will be trusted and accepted. This model has been tested across different simulation scenarios which showed that the proposed model detected malicious vehicles and trusted vehicles did not accept their messages. Abstract: Ad hoc networks, known as infrastructure-less networks, are composed of mobile nodes that connect without a centralized system controlling them. These networks have a wide range of potential applications, including emergency response, events, military operations, wireless access, and intelligent transportation. They can take on various forms, such as wireless sensor networks, wireless mesh networks, and mobile ad hoc networks. Because users in these networks can move around at any time, routing protocols must adapt to the constantly changing network layout. However, these networks are also susceptible to various security threats, including DDoS attacks. This paper aims to analyze the performance and impact of security attacks on the performance of reactive and proactive routing protocols in CBR connection patterns with different pause times. The analysis is provided in metrics such as throughput, packet loss, end-to-end delay, and load. The simulation results show that, on average, the OPNET Modeler simulator analyzed the performance results under DDoS attacks under voice and video traffic conditions. Furthermore, the paper explores the use of Honeypot intelligent agents as a solution to increase security by creating a dummy node to fool DDoS attackers. The results show that the OLSR protocol is most affected by DDoS attacks in terms of quality-of-service metrics such as packet loss, throughput, end-to-end delay, and load. The number of responses to the honeypot solutions differs for each protocol. DOI: 10.5267/j.ijdns.2023.2.002 Keywords: Ad hoc networks, DSR, AODV, OLSR, Routing protocols, Wireless Networks and DDoS

Abstract: This paper proposes a new variant of NTRU with a slightly different critical formulation. The significance of this new variant is that it requires an additional private key to provide a tighter scheme. Because of these changes, modified key generation, encryption and decryption algorithms have been developed accordingly. The new variant is analyzed and tested against several well-known attacks, namely the alternate private key attack, brute force attack, meet-in-the-middle attack, multiple transmission attacks and lattice attack. Security properties related to these attacks have been established and explored to ensure the new variant is secure against the said attacks. Several examples are provided to illustrate the ideas. Abstract: The research aimed to know the impact of electronic delivery orders and logistics digitalization on the import document activities mediated by logistics service quality in the national shipping lines, especially the members of Regional Container Lines. Several logistics companies in Indonesia have now begun to utilize digital technology supported by the national logistics ecosystem platform to advance logistics activities, to assist logistics processes in all sectors, including the industrial sector. Shipping, especially by sea shipping. One of the research problems, among others, is that the TSJ/T3 terminal still uses manual delivery orders. The research used the path analysis method and Sobel test with a random sample of 102 PT Bhum Mulia Prima customers. The result of the study showed that electronic delivery orders and logistics digitalization partially contribute to the import document activities through logistics service quality. Furthermore, logistics service quality as the intervening variable strengthened the contribution of an electronic delivery order to the import document activities. Testing is also needed by comparing digital systems between the shipping companies that still do not use manual documents and those that have used online processes in import activities. Abstract: Social Engineering (SE) Attacks against information systems continue to pose a potentially devastating impact. Security information systems are becoming increasingly significant as the number of SE incidents rapidly increased and became more aggressive than before. The World Wide Web (WWW) has evolved for information exchange and knowledge-sharing. It enables the sharing of information in a timely, effective, and transparent manner. Identity theft and identity misuse are two sides of cybercrime in which hackers and fraudulent users collect sensitive information from current legal users in order to perform fraud or deceit for financial gain. Malicious links are used as phishing methods, in which malicious links are planted beneath legitimate-looking links. As the number of web pages grows, the number of malicious web pages and the attacks of such become more complex. In this paper, we provide a method for identifying malicious web pages using a crawling and classification approach that helps to support the automatic discovery of the malicious links. The proposed approach can successfully complete the crawling session even if the page requires partial page refreshment and authentication credentials. The evaluation of the proposed approach shows a higher accuracy compared to an existing approach with an overall accuracy of 72% in three custom applications. Moreover, the proposed approach will calculate the significance and the impact severances of each link on the website and it better differentiates malicious web pages and normal links. The results of the proposed approach will also help in providing a set of recommendations which can increase the awareness level of the end-users, website administrators on how to better deal with these types of SE attacks. Abstract: It is critical to safeguard confidential data, especially secret and private messages. This study introduces a novel data cryptography approach. The new approach will be capable of encrypting and decrypting any communication size. The suggested approach will use a sophisticated private key with a convoluted structure. The private key will have 5 components with a double data type to prevent guessing or hacking. The confidential data will produce two secret keys, the first of which will be taken from the image key. These keys will be vulnerable to slight changes in private key information. To maximize the approach's efficiency, the suggested method will deal with lengthy messages by splitting them into chunks. On the other hand, the chaotic logistic map model will be used to create the second key. The suggested technique will be implemented, and several sorts of analysis (sensitivity, quality, security, and speed analysis) will be undertaken to demonstrate the benefits of the proposed method. The quality metrics MSE, PSNR, and CC will be computed to validate the suggested method's quality. To illustrate the efficiency of the proposed technique, encryption and decryption times will be measured, and cryptography throughputs will be determined. Various PKs will be tried throughout the decryption process to demonstrate how sensitive the produced outputs are to changes in the private key. The suggested approach will be tested, and the results will be compared to the results of existing methods to demonstrate the improvement offered by the proposed method. Abstract: Peru is a country with a complex geography. Moreover, it lacks minimal safe roads, higher in Andean and jungle territories. Depending on the classification they might receive, the num-ber of kilometers without pavement can reach up to 80%. Such a rate is alarming, consider-ing that internationally the United Nations promotes actions for road security since road ac-cidents are among the most common causes of death causes in the world. Then, employing data from Sutran, the current research has analyzed how the severity of accidents can affect road administration in Peru roads in 2021. Hence, the multinomial logistic regression was employed due to the nature of the data. It was found that regional routes had a higher risk than national roads when estimating the probability of having many dead and injured people because of a road accident. Abstract: The rapid increase in social media users in Indonesia has caused organic black rice (OBR) to be traded online via social commerce (s-commerce). OBR is an environmentally friendly functional food that meets the requirements for sustainable agricultural products. Unfortunately, in Indonesia the demand is still low, so some producers are reluctant to continue the OBR business. Therefore, it is important to study consumer satisfaction. Previous studies have primarily focused on satisfaction with choices and results of the decision process, not satisfaction with the decision process. Satisfaction in the perspective of the decision process has not been widely studied. This paper aims to identify the dominant factors that influence satisfaction with the online OBR purchase decision process via s-commerce. The research design is quantitative with a survey technique of 200 online consumers drawn by stratified random and convenience sampling. Data analysis using Exploratory Factor Analysis and Path Analysis. The results showed that the dominant factors were security in purchasing decisions, Instagram and other social media, friends, satisfaction with the results, Internet, references of friends and family as well as consideration of product taste and aroma, attractiveness, and disease treatment. These eight dominant factors can be used as important considerations in online OBR business through s-commerce. Abstract: Phishing websites are characterized by distinguished visual, address, domain, and embedded features, which identify and defend such threats. Yet, phishing website detection is challenged by overlapping these features with legitimate websites’ features. As the inter-class variance between legitimate and phishing websites becomes low, commonly utilized machine learning algorithms suffer from low performance in overlapping feature cases. Alternatively, ensemble learning that combines multiple predictions intending to address low inter-class variations in the classified data improves the performance in such cases. Ensemble learning utilizes multiple classifiers of similar or different types with multiple deviations of the training data. This paper develops a framework based on random forest ensemble techniques. The limitations of the random forest are the inability to capture the high correlation between features and their join dependency on the label. The random forest is combined with k-means clustering to capture the feature correlation. The framework is evaluated for phishing detection with a dataset of 5000 samples. The results showed the proposed framework over-performed the random forest classifier, all other ensemble classifiers, and the conventional classification algorithms. The proposed framework achieved an accuracy of 98.64%, precision of 0.986, recall of 0.987, and F-measure of 0.986. Abstract: The Central Road is the most connected road between the capital and cities of the jungle and the highlands in Peru. Nowadays, this road suffers from intense traffic jams that excessively delay time travel. Moreover, it is vulnerable to closures due to natural and human factors. Also, there is a proliferation of reckless drivers who do not care about speeding and cause terrible accidents. Hence, the current research explores whether the speeding record affected the occurrence of accidents on this road. After applying the Logit regression, it was possible to find that only recording speeding beyond 30 kilometers per hour over the limit was relevant to prevent accidents. It was also suggested that the speedometer should track 24 hours a day along with measures to improve the infrastructure of this road. Abstract: The development of information technology (IT) and the adoption of blockchain have affected the world of finance today. Research on these two matters is still lacking, especially from a financial perspective. This study aims to review the latest research regarding changes in corporate governance with the adoption of IT governance and blockchain. A computerized multi-database literature search was conducted in January–March 2022, using the ScienceDirect and Emerald search engines. The terms “corporate governance”, “IT governance”, and “blockchain” were entered in the descriptor fields, with “language” limited to English and “source” limited to peer-reviewed journal articles. The implementation of good corporate governance will reduce the company's risk and protect investors. Technological advances can be used to develop better IT governance by making information transparent and adopting technological advances to support the implementation of good corporate governance. Under a blockchain framework, corporate governance might evolve in a variety of ways. There are several advantages to issuing and trading corporate securities on blockchains, but there are also certain drawbacks connected to increased ownership transparency. Businesses would seek out board members and outside advisors with various skill sets, and crucial issues like managerial incentives would probably change to account for the shifting character of corporate securities. Nonetheless, Blockchain has a significant scalability issue, restricting its ability to support services with various transactions. On the other hand, cloud computing is the on-demand availability of shared computer system resources, although issues now beset it in automation, processes, management, policies, and human aspects. Combining cloud computing and blockchain technology into a single system can improve network control, task scheduling, data integrity, resource management, pricing, fair payment, and resource allocation. In this article, we offered a comprehensive and up-to-date survey of cloud computing and Blockchain integration, a critical service for business applications due to the benefits of privacy, security, and service support. The lack of a comprehensive assessment examining the significance of BaaS platforms used in cloud computing prompted this review. We focus on the various BaaS tools that are currently in use. This report also examines the most common BaaS platforms incorporating Blockchain as a cloud service, such as Alibaba, Oracle, Azure, Amazon, and IBM. Furthermore, this research highlighted some major technological issues associated with merging Blockchain with cloud computing.
