doi 10.5267/j.uscm.2024.5.028

๐Ÿ”‘ Keywords: Open innovation, Knowledge management, Stakeholdersโ€™ relations, Performance, Entrepreneurial firms

Abstract:
Even though entrepreneurial firms make substantial contributions to both domestic and global economies and innovations, there is disagreement in the literature regarding how open innovation affects these firms' ability to succeed. The current research is an attempt to address the gaps by analyzing the intricacies and dynamics of entrepreneurial firmsโ€™ involvement in Open Innovation. Furthermore, the impact on performance is examined from a knowledge perspective. In Jordanian context, this study analyzed the link between stakeholder interactions, knowledge management, open innovation, and the performance of entrepreneurial firms. The findings demonstrated that open innovation activities are statistically significant to the overall performance of entrepreneurial firms. However, since it has an unintentional detrimental effect over the performance of entrepreneurial firms in Jordan, the moderating effect of stakeholder relations and the mediation effect of knowledge management has been analyzed. The moderating role of stakeholder relationships has been proven statistically which enriched the theoretical foundations of RBV and contingency theory by adding stakeholdersโ€™ theory into the combination of the two theories, at the end limitations and guidelines for future research along with practical implications are emphasized.

The role of inbound and outbound open innovation on firm performance in environmental turbulence era: Mediating of product and marketing innovation Pages 2347-2358 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: Edy Yulianto

doi 10.5267/j.msl.2021.5.006

๐Ÿ”‘ Keywords: Open Innovation, Innovation, Environmental Turbulence, SMEs Performance, Introduction

Abstract:
Open innovation has been identified as two dimensions, the flow of knowledge obtained from outside and processed within the organization and has a role as a key business responsiveness to prevent any risks that will be faced. From this knowledge flow is a successful approach to new product development featuring outbound and inbound knowledge that is managed with the aim of getting out of the bounds of risk. Therefore, this study investigates and explains the clausal relationship between the variables used, such as inbound and outbound open innovation, product innovation, marketing innovation, firm performance, and environmental turbulence as moderating variables. This study uses a quantitative approach and designs a questionnaire that has been distributed to 115 SMEs owner / managers as a sample. In the process of formal data collection, a random sample was used in this study which was distributed to the owner / manager of SMEs. While the processing, analysis, and hypothesis testing process of this study uses PLS-SEM which is a statistical tool for applying all data scales, does not require many assumptions, and confirms relationships. The findings in this study indicate that what has a positive and significant effect is the relationship of inbound open innovation to product innovation, product innovation to marketing innovation, marketing innovation to firm performance. In addition, the moderating effect of environmental turbulence in a positive way is only product innovation on firm performance. Further explanation of the implications of the findings has been discussed and confirmed.

๐Ÿ”‘ Keywords: Open innovation, Fuzzy DEMATEL, Fuzzy ANP, Sports federations

Abstract:
Since todayโ€™s world is moving ahead rapidly, the condition for the survival and durability of insti-tutions and organizations depend on research, development, innovation, and communication, the realization of which requires the presence of a new and creative model. Therefore, this paper aims to formulate and explain an open successful innovation management model by seeking the factors affecting the diffusion of innovation model at sports federations. The study in term of goal is ap-plied and in term of data analysis method is descriptive correlational study. The statistical popula-tion consists of sports federations of Iran in 2017. The sample size was 70 individuals selected us-ing Morgan table and the simple random sampling method from 10 federations. The research col-lection data tool was a questionnaire. The correlation matrix was used to determine the relationships between independent and dependent variables. Furthermore, a novel hybrid technique of fuzzy DEMATEL and fuzzy ANP was used to rank the factors affecting open innovation. The results showed that structural factors, interorganizational joint venture, customer relationships, research and development department, and new technologies affected the open innovation. Moreover, struc-tural factors were ranked the most effective factors. Then, customer relationships and interorganiza-tional joint venture were known as the weakest factors affecting the creation of open innovation.

doi 10.5267/j.ijdns.2023.9.021

๐Ÿ”‘ Keywords: Big data, Strategic foresight, Open innovation, Therapeutic industries, Medical supplies

Abstract:
The aim of this study is to examine the impact of Big Data on strategic foresight in the presence of open innovation as a (mediating variable) in the companies of the therapeutic industry and the medical supplies sector in Amman the capital city of Jordan. Out of the (121) companies making up the total of such companies, the study focused on (18) industrial companies that had more than (100) employees in total, however only (11) of those have consented to take part in the study. The study population consisted of (271) employees occupying different jobs (general manager, deputy general manager, unit manager, department manager). Due to the limited size of the population, the entire number of employees were included as participants using the comprehensive survey technique, and the number of returned and validated questionnaires for analysis were (259), representing (95.5%) of the total. In order to determine the study problem, pilot structured interviews were used in a sample of the mentioned companies. The questionnaire was employed as the key tool to measure the study variables through data collection, and the descriptive and inferential statistics methods were used to analyze the collected data, through calculations of the arithmetic mean, standard deviation, t-test and half-segmentation, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis and the structured equation model using SMART PLS3 for hypothesis testing. The study culminated in several results, the most important of which was evidence that open innovation played a partial mediating role in the relationship between big data and strategic foresight in the companies of the therapeutic industries and medical supplies sector. Accordingly, a set of recommendations were put forward, the most important of which is to increase investment in big data in the companies due to its importance in foreseeing the future. As well as applying open innovation practices and strengthening strategic foresight practices due to its important role in avoiding extensive losses and seizing new opportunities. Highlighting the need to pay attention to open innovation practices that generate ideas and help to have strategic foresight.
