Abstract:
The aim of this research is to examine the effect of human resource management (HRM) practices on employee engagement, and the moderating roles of gender and marital status. The survey was conducted with a total of 457 frontline employees who are working in the Vi-etnamese banking industry. Partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) was estimated using the SmartPLS 3.0 program to examine the hypotheses. The results indicated that HRM practices and its four key dimensions (Training; Reward and recognition, Employee engagement, and Information sharing) positively impacted employee engagement. Moreover, this study provided an empirical evidence about the moderating roles of gender and marital status. It implied that male frontlines employees heightened the positive relationship between HRM practices and employee engagement, but this positive relationship was weakened by married employees. The finding also suggested that bank managers should develop a suitable HRM practices to reinforce employee engagement.

Abstract:
Job satisfaction plays an important role on increasing business productivity and efficiency. This paper presents an empirical investigation to study the relationship between job satisfaction and employees’ personal characteristics including gender, marital status, etc. The proposed study designs a questionnaire and distributes it among 244 out of 800 employees who worked for cement industry in Iran. The data are analyzed using different statistical tests such as t-student and analysis of variance. The results indicate that while there was not any meaningful relationship between gender and job satisfaction there was some meaningful relationship between marital status and job satisfaction.

Abstract:
Job satisfaction plays an essential role on having happy society since people may have better lives when they fully satisfied with their jobs. In this paper, we present an empirical study to investigate the effect of marital status as well as educational background on job satisfaction. The study performs the study among university employees of Khomeinishar branch located in province of Esfahan, Iran and all questions are designed in Likert scale of 1-5 based on Brayfield & Rothes Index of job satisfaction. Using a sample of 100 people, the study first uses Kolmogrov-Smirnov test and verifies that all data are normally distributed (?=5%). The survey also finds that there is no difference between female and male employees in terms of job satisfaction (?=5%). In addition, the study confirms that marital status has no significance on job satisfaction (?=5%).

Abstract:
Suicide attempt has been one of serious social problems in todays’ modern society and many studies have been focused to detect different factors influencing this unfortunate issue. In this paper, we perform an empirical study among 897 people who had some experiences associated with suicide attempt. We have designed and distributed a questionnaire among them investigating the impact of four major issues including marital status, educational background, age and living status. The results of our survey indicate that married people tend to commit suicide more than single people do. The other observation indicates that more educated people are more likely to commit suicide, older people are more interested in ending their lives and finally, people who live in cities are more likely to commit suicide than other people.
