Electronic properties of complexes derived from imidazolium cations and carbonyl compounds and their reactivity in synthesis of bisphenol derivatives in the light of CDFT/MEDT approach Pages 771-776 PDF Download PDF

Authors: E. Dresler, E. Nowakowska-Bogdan, W. ลฤ…cka, M. Zฤ…bkowska, D. Kapuล›ciล„ski, R. Jasiล„ski

doi 10.5267/j.ccl.2025.8.006

๐Ÿ”‘ Keywords: Reactivity indexes theory, Electrophilic substitution reactions, Bis-phenols, Ionic liquid

Abstract:
In terms of Domingo terminology, complexes of carbonyl compounds with imidazolium cations should be considered as extremely strong electrophiles. Reactions of these compounds with phenol yielding bis-phenols follow a polar mechanism. Furthermore, the discussion based on the theory of reactivity indexes can be used to predict the reactivity of respective electrophiles and regio-orientation in EAS reactions, the first stage of bis-phenol synthesis, kinetically rate-limiting for the whole process.

Synthesis and anti-tuberculosis studies of 10-phenyl sulfonyl-2-alkyl/aryl- 4, 10 dihydrobenzo [4, 5] imidazo [1, 2-a] pyrimidin-4-one derivatives Pages 1-8 PDF Download PDF

Authors: K. V. Jagannath

doi 10.5267/j.ccl.2019.6.003

๐Ÿ”‘ Keywords: Pyrimido[1, 2-a]benzimidazolone, Sulfonamide, Anti-tuberculosis, Single crystal x-ray diffraction, Ionic liquid

Abstract:
A series of novel 10-phenylsulfonyl-2-substituted-4,10 dihydrobenzo[4,5]imidazo[1,2-a]pyrimidin-4-one derivatives obtained from N-sulfonation of 2-substituted-pyrimido[1,2-a]benzimidazol-4(10H)-ones and screened for for their in vitro anti-tuberculosis activities against Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv by Microplate Alamar Blue Assay (MABA) method. The structures were established on the basis of their IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, ESI-MS data and also the compound with 3f were crystallized and analysed by single crystal X-ray diffraction studies.

A Highly Efficient Method for Synthesis of Bisarylmethylidenes of Cyclic Ketones in [BMIm]Cl/NaOH System as New and Recyclable Catalyst Pages 63-70 PDF Download PDF

Authors: Shahrzad Javanshir, Mohammad M. Mojtahedi, Javad Eslami

doi 10.5267/j.ccl.2014.2.002

๐Ÿ”‘ Keywords: Aldol Condensations, Bisarylmethylidenes, Chalcones, Ionic Liquid

Abstract:
An ionic liquid 1-Butyl-3-methylimidazoliumchloride[BMIm]Cl/sodium hydroxide system, was employed as a catalyst for the fast and one-pot crossed aldol-condensation of various aromatic aldehydes and cyclic ketones, to produce a variety of substituted ?,? & apos; -bis(benzylidene)-cycloalkanones under neat conditions. This process is simple, efficient and environmentally benign and proceeds in high yield and short reaction times. The ionic liquid can be recycled for subsequent reactions without any appreciable loss of efficiency.

Synthesis, characterization and theoretical study of the new aluminate ionic liquid: triphenylphosphonium trichloroiodoaluminate Pages 181-186 PDF Download PDF

Authors: Shahriar Ghammamy, Sadjad Sedaghat

doi 10.5267/j.ccl.2012.7.001

๐Ÿ”‘ Keywords: Aluminate, DFT, Frequency, Ionic liquid, Room temperature

Abstract:
The synthesis of Triphenylphosphonium trichloroiodoaluminate (III) ionic liquids (ILs) is reported here. The product was characterized by spectroscopic and analytical methods such as 31P-NMR, FT-IR, cyclic voltammetry, CHN, TGA and differential thermal analysis (DTA). Thermal analyses were used to investigate the thermal behavior of this compound. The results show that this ILs has excellent thermal stability below 110?C. Along with the experimental study; this compound has been studied computationally at the B3LYP/LANL2DZ level of theory using the Gaussian 98 program package. From these calculations, optimized geometries, molecular parameters, and vibrational spectra of ILs have been calculated. In addition, calculated frequencies are compared with the experimental frequencies after correction by the appropriate scaling factor. This comparison shows that our theoretical data are in good agreement with the experimental results.
