The role of xiaohongshu in dietary acculturation and its influence on Chinese international students’ purchase intention for Malaysian traditional food Pages 35-46 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: Nan Zhang, Shuhaida Md Noor

DOI: 10.5267/j.dsl.2025.11.002

Keywords: Information Quality, Electronic Word of Mouth, Perceived Usefulness, Perceived Enjoyment, Attitude, Trust, Purchase Intention, Food Neophobia

Abstract:
This study investigates the role of Xiaohongshu in shaping Chinese international students’ purchase intentions (PI) toward Malaysian traditional food. Drawing on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), the research examines the direct effects of information quality, electronic word of mouth (eWOM), perceived usefulness (PU), and perceived enjoyment (PE) on PI, as well as the mediating roles of attitude and trust and the moderating role of food neophobia. A quantitative research design was employed, and data were collected through a structured questionnaire distributed among Chinese international students studying in Malaysia. A total of 380 valid responses were obtained, with established scales adapted from prior research to measure the constructs. The data were analyzed using SPSS, including reliability testing, correlation analysis, regression analysis, and mediation and moderation tests. The results revealed that all four independent variables significantly influenced PI, with both attitude and trust mediating these relationships. Furthermore, food neophobia was found to moderate the effects of attitude and trust on PI, weakening these positive associations among students with higher levels of neophobia. These findings confirm the importance of cognitive and affective factors in food-related consumer behavior within a cross-cultural context. This study extends TAM and TPB by applying them to the context of social media–driven cross-cultural food consumption. It provides theoretical insights into the role of trust, attitude, and individual differences in shaping consumer behavior, while also offering practical recommendations for marketers and cultural promoters seeking to enhance the acceptance of Malaysian traditional food among international students.

Authors: Mohammad Kanan

DOI: 10.5267/j.uscm.2023.7.010

Keywords: Supply Chain Performance, Information Quality, System Quality, Service Quality

Abstract:
This research investigates the links between information quality, service quality, system quality, and supply chain performance in Saudi Arabia's manufacturing sector. The goal is to provide insights into the elements that impact supply chain outcomes and to identify critical performance drivers. Data was acquired from a sample of manufacturing organizations, and the correlations were analyzed using a structural equation modeling technique. Information quality, service quality, and supply chain performance are all shown to have substantial positive correlations. Higher levels of information quality and service quality relate to enhanced supply chain performance in the manufacturing sector. However, system quality was shown to have a comparatively smaller influence on supply chain performance, suggesting that investments in information management systems and service delivery methods may offer higher returns. The reliability and validity of the measuring scales employed in this research were evaluated and determined to be strong, assuring the precision and consistency of the findings. These results add to the current research by identifying the unique elements that influence supply chain performance in Saudi Arabia's manufacturing sector. The study has many implications for practitioners in the manufacturing sector as it discusses the significance of investing in information management systems, providing high-quality services, and continually evaluating and improving supply chain performance. Organizations may improve their competitiveness and create better supply chain results by concentrating on these areas. Additional elements and possible moderating or mediating variables may be investigated in future studies to acquire a better knowledge of the dynamics that impact supply chain performance. Overall, this research offers significant insights for practitioners and decision-makers in the manufacturing industry, directing them towards more appropriate methods to maximize supply chain performance and achieve long-term success.

Keywords: ERP sustainability, Supply chain integration, Information quality, Firm performance

Abstract:
The disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has an imbalance between demand and supply in Indonesia's manufacturing industry. The products needed to handle the spread of the virus are in high order, and there is even a product shortage. Products that are not required to prevent a pandemic have stagnated so that the manufacturing industry suddenly reduces capacity. Manufacturing companies need to coordinate quickly to be able to adjust the disruption. Manufacturing companies already have an integrated information technology system that has been the primary process in Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP). Manufacturing companies make ERP their primary system, so they need to be updated and adjusted as needed. This study obtains a questionnaire from Indonesia's manufacturing industry using the google form link and distributed through social media WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram. Data processing was carried out by using the partial least square of 285 manufacturing company respondents. The results showed that ERP sustainability was able to influence supply chain integration (internal and external). External integration has an impact on information quality, while internal integration does not affect. Supply chain integration and information quality affect increasing firm performance. Research makes a practical contribution to the industry in optimizing ERP systems in Pandemic conditions and a theoretical contribution to ERP sustainability as a mainstay in supply chain integration.

DOI: 10.5267/j.ijdns.2024.5.011

Keywords: Information credibility, Source credibility, Massage credibility, Argument strength, Medium credibility, Information quality, Mediator effect of gender

Abstract:
This study provides an analytical view of the correlation between several factors that influence the credibility of information available through various sources on the Internet. The most critical factors include information quality, source credibility, argument strength, message credibility, and average credibility. Additionally, the study explores the impact of gender and years of experience as demographic variables on the nature and size of these relationships. The study relied on a critical review of previous related literature. In addition, it adopted an analytical approach using a sample of 300 Internet users through a questionnaire designed based on the study hypotheses. Most of these relationships were found to be at an average level, except for the relationship between source credibility and information credibility. No statistical indicators were observed. Consequently, the researchers acknowledge the need for caution when generalizing these results to society. The study also found that the gender of the recipient and the number of years of experience did not necessarily play a mediating role in the relationship between the tested factors and the credibility of information received via the Internet.
