Keywords: Sustainable soybean production, Environmental, Economic, MIGO technology, Supply chain, Sustainability

Abstract:
Adopting MIGO Bio P 2000 Z in soybean cultivation in Indonesia has yielded significant advancements in sustainable agriculture. This innovative technology has demonstrated substantial potential in enhancing agricultural productivity. Environmental impacts of using MIGO Bio P 2000 Z include reduced reliance on chemical fertilizers, improved soil quality, positive contributions to greenhouse gas emissions reduction, and support for biodiversity conservation. Economically, implementing MIGO Bio P 2000 Z has increased soybean production, reduced fertilizer costs, higher incomes for soybean farmers, export opportunities, and investments in agricultural technology. While the primary focus is on economic impact, reducing chemical fertilizer use also benefits the environment by preventing pollution and soil degradation. Further, integrating MIGO Bio P 2000 Z into the soybean supply chain has bolstered supply sustainability, decreased dependency on soybean imports, and improved food security. Its positive effects include enhanced agricultural productivity, reduced environmental impact, and support for the well-being of farmers. Collaborative efforts, including government support, training, diversified markets, and strict monitoring, are essential for optimizing the technology's potential. Adopting MIGO Bio P 2000 Z in Indonesian soybean cultivation offers a sustainable and environmentally friendly approach to bolstering economic growth, food security, and the agricultural sector. In addressing challenges and enhancing the benefits, investing in training, market diversification, and regulations is vital while supporting farmers, especially small-scale ones. This holistic approach will secure Indonesia's soybean supply chain and strengthen the nation's agricultural resilience.

DOI: 10.5267/j.msl.2020.2.023

Keywords: Social, Economic, Environmental, School Institution, Sustainable Development

Abstract:
This paper aims to model the social, economic and environmental (SEE) impacts of Pondok Tahfiz in Kelantan. The basic principle of a sustainable development paradigm lies in three aspects; namely social, economic, and environmental. These aspects guide the management of human use of resources so that any development project may yield the greatest sustainable benefits or positive impacts to present generations while maintaining the ability to meet the needs of future generations. Pondok tahfiz is the orthodox Islamic school institution that focus on Islamic education learning. Presently, the institution is highly demanded among Mus-lim Malaysian as they believe the institution provides some benefits in future. The three as-pects of SEE are commonly used as dimensions for measuring impacts of sustainable devel-opment of Pondok tahfiz. Through this, SEE is able to acquire indirect and direct impacts of education institute towards social, economy and environment. The findings indicate that all the dependent variables provide a significant impact towards sustainable development of pon-dok tahfiz. However, the economic development provides less impact for the sustainable development.

A comprehensive study on the quality of sustainability reporting disclosure between Indonesia and other countries Pages 19-26 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: Komang Dandy Andriadi, Desak Nyoman Sri Werastuti

DOI: 10.5267/j.ac.2021.6.010

Keywords: Sustainability report, Economic, Social, Environmental performance

Abstract:
The shift in the business paradigm towards a more sustainable one has placed a balance between people, profit and the planet as a corporate culture. However, based on previous empirical studies, very few companies have put sustainability as the soul of their business, especially in the types of industries that are not obliged to report their social responsibility activities. This study aims to compare the quality of the sustainability report based on the GRI G4 indicator for foreign and domestic companies engaged in construction services. The data was taken using a purposive method on construction service companies that published their 2017 sustainability reports and found 30 companies. The quality of the report is compared between the three indicators, namely economic, social and environmental. The results showed that in terms of quality of disclosure, there was no difference between domestic and foreign construction service companies, whether tested per category or tested collectively. The results of this study reinforce the previous finding that companies are still very dependent on the regulatory compliance approach only in implementing sustainability, especially in the construction service industry.

The paper uses survey method with two research hypotheses. Questionnaires were administered among academic staff of two Nigerian universities in the southwest part of Nigeria. Findings showed that the global economic recession has great impact on the development of skills of human capital in Nigeria. Findings also revealed that there exists a positive relationship between global economic recession and training and development of human capital in Nigeria. The paper offers useful policy recommendations, which include the need for government and appropriate agencies to put in place policies such as enabling environment that will lead to the growth and development of human capital in Nigeria. Government needs to put forward policies that minimize cost at all levels, maximize efficiency of output, training and retraining of goods hands; and that there is need to encourage better motivation of workers at every sector of the economy amongst others.
