Authors: Nasser Safaie, Aida Eslami, Majid Mirzaee Ghazani

DOI: 10.5267/j.dsl.2024.12.004

Keywords: Fintech, Multi-criteria decision-making, Business model, Analytical Network Process, Interpretive Structural Modeling, DEMATEL

Abstract:
In recent years, fintech has received much attention due to the introduction of new technologies in banking and electronic payment. For financial service providers to compete in the industries, they should apply the business model as a conceptual framework to improve performance. The current research is exploratory and tries to identify the factors influencing fintech design in electronic payment using the Osterwalder business model. This study aims to integrate three methods named DEMATEL, ISM, and ANP from MCDM techniques. To analyze the identified factors affecting the design of fintech in electronic payment, the indicators were examined in terms of influence and effectiveness by the DEMATEL method, then the levels of influence and effectiveness of the factors were investigated using the interpretive structural modeling method. Finally, the network analysis method was used to prioritize the factors. The findings showed that recognizing and identifying electronic payment customers is the most effective among the factors, and determining the type of relationship with customers is the most impressionable factor. In addition, after ranking the factors, the type of relationship with customers was the first rank, and the criteria of the company's cost structure and revenue streams were determined as the second and third, respectively.

Parametric analysis of dry machining process using a novel integrated multi-attribute decision making approach Pages 193-202 Right click to download the paper Download PDF

Authors: G. Venkata Ajay Kumar, A. Ramaa, M. Shilpa

DOI: 10.5267/j.dsl.2021.11.001

Keywords: Dry machining, DEMATEL, CRITIC, TOPSIS, EN 24 alloy steel

Abstract:
In most of the machining processes, the complexity arises in the selection of the right process parameters, which influence the machining process and output responses such as machinability and surface roughness. In such situations, it is important to estimate the inter-relationships among the output responses. One such method, Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) is applied to study the inter-relationships of the output responses. Estimation of proper weights is also crucial where the output responses are conflicting in nature. In the current study, DEMATEL technique is used for estimating the inter-relationships for output responses in machining of EN 24 alloy under dry conditions. CRiteria Importance Through Inter-criteria Correlation (CRITIC) method is used to estimate the weights and finally the optimal selection of machining parameters is carried out using Techniques for Order Preference by Similarity to an Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method. The model developed guides the decision maker in selection of precise weights, estimation of the inter relationships among the responses and selection of optimal process parameters.

Authors: Toni Lupo, Elvira Bellomo

DOI: 10.5267/j.dsl.2020.8.005

Keywords: software quality, software usability, mobile operating system, DEMATEL, ANP, multi-criteria decision-analysis

Abstract:
Evaluation of the software usability as concerns software alternatives represents a typical Multi-Criteria Decision-Analysis (MCDA) problem. Such a kind of problem can be successfully faced via structured models and approaches which validity have been widely shown in literature. In this work, a methodological framework based on a MCDA model integrating the DEMATEL method along with the ANP technique is proposed and explained with more detail to address the relevant issue of the software usability evaluation. The applicability of the considered DEMATEL-ANP (DANP) based model in the under analysis contest is demonstrated via a preliminary investigation, where the usability of the two major Mobile Operating Systems (MOSs) is compared and quantitatively prioritized. Results of both performed comparison method and sensitivity analysis confirm the validity of the proposed MCDA model as well robustness of its outcomes. Moreover, results obtained point out about the influenced, independent and core factors for the MOSs usability, as well as strengths, weaknesses and discrepancies in the usability as concerns the two investigated alternatives. Representing these outcomes crucial aspects for driving focused MOSs usability improvement processes and strategies, they give also evidence of the effectiveness of the proposed methodological framework.

Authors: Syahibul Kahfi Syahibul Kahfi, Wellem Anselmus Wellem Anselmus, Maimuna Maimuna, Roberto Mario Kabi Roberto Mario Kabi

DOI: 10.5267/j.dsl.2020.8.001

Keywords: DEMATEL, Spatial, Artisanal fisheries, Sustainability

Abstract:
The maintenance of a sustainable mechanism to curb the rate of overfishing in similar water zones is one of the major challenges facing artisan fisheries in small island regions. Several factors instigate the decision by local fishermen to potentially choose a location to explore. Obviously, the demand to address these triggers, particularly those with negative impact tendencies, has become paramount. This study, therefore, is aimed at mapping out fishing heat spots based on arrival, background of the fishermen, and available species. Subsequently, an evaluation is conducted to ascertain the criteria influencing the decision on a specific position and also to determine the consequences of their negative impact on marine resource sustainability and coastal community welfare. For these reasons, data from fishermen, sellers and local distributors were collected by using questionnaires, and analyzed to generate useful information on related fishing ground. Furthermore, experts were involved in providing expert assessment for Fuzzy Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL). The results showed significant insights and therefore offer support to help regulators preserve marine resources, especially by updating their decision making capacity for increased coastal community welfare. The direct implication of this research also serves as a basis for conducting traditional fisheries, estimated not only to meet economic impact, but also promote sustainable environment.

DOI: 10.5267/j.msl.2018.12.013

Keywords: Export, Economic development, DEMATEL, AHP, Pharmaceutical companies

Abstract:
Nowadays, there is a growing attention on export activities and they are considered as a good strategy for companies to grow from supportive domestic sales to foreign developing markets, while offering greater flexibility, cost, and lowering different risks compared to other external development methods. With the internationalization of the global economy, the focus has been on improving export performance, which reflects the company's success in the economic field. An important point about Iran's exports, which should not be overlooked, is the decline on the reliance of the national economy on revenues from oil exports and the achievement of economic independence. Therefore, support for the export industries, especially non-oil exports, is one of Iranian priorities for increasing economic growth and creating foreign exchange earnings. In the meantime, the economic performance of pharmaceutical companies is very important because the growth and development of this sector and the export of these products bring significant foreign exchange earnings. This paper focuses on the data gathered from the managers and exporters of the pharmaceutical companies and using some statistical tests to determine the effective components on export promotion. The study considers 18 factors and extracts five important factors including profitability and economic growth, developmental quality, encouragement and financial performance. The study also uses analytical hierarchy process (AHP) and DEMATEL techniques to rank these factors and their sub-components. Quality is considered as the most important factor according to the implementation of AHP and profitability and economic growth are determined to be the most influencing factors according to DEMATEL.

DOI: 10.5267/j.msl.2017.11.005

Keywords: Hybrid cars (HEVs), DEMATEL, New product development, Food industry, Customer attitude

Abstract:
Developed food production lines recently have built factories for novel products to find a position in the market faster, although innovation is still expensive and risky. This study focuses on con-tributors who persuade consumers to purchase new pasta products in Tehran, and tries to determine the correlation among the criteria. This is conducted from the market experts’ view points along with a blend of grounded theory and DEMATEL. The results indicate that quality, price, packag-ing, promotion, phantasm and place parameters enhance new pasta pictures on customers’ buying decision making. According to experts, quality and price are the most influential factors and promo-tion and phantasm are completely ineffective. In addition, cultural parameters, especially local reci-pes as well as customers’ palate are important in this process.
