The role of electronic apostille systems and digital transformation on public cybersecurity Pages 899-910 PDF Download PDF

Authors: Dimas Sulistio Solekan, Eman Suparman, Muhamad Amirulloh

doi 10.5267/j.ijdns.2025.11.008

๐Ÿ”‘ Keywords: Electronic System Security Reliability Certificate, Digital Signature, Electronic System, E-Apostille, Confidentiality, Integrity, availability

Abstract:
Digital transformation in civil document management requires robust legal frameworks to ensure user certainty, security, and international compliance. While countries like the U.S. and Turkey have implemented electronic apostille systems (MNA 2022 and Law No. 7101/2018) to streamline cross-border document authentication, Indonesia remains significantly behind. The regulatory gap exposes the country to cybersecurity risks, impeding the secure and efficient use of civil documents in the digital era. This study employs PLS-SEM via SmartPLS 4.0 for analyzing apostille legalization practices. Data testing involves validity, reliability, significance, and hypothesis evaluation. The research combines normative juridical analysis of regulations with empirical data collection in Indonesia and comparative analysis of international e-apostille practices in the U.S. and Turkey. The result of this study is the necessity of implementing an electronic apostille system in Indonesia aligned with the C-I-A Triad (Confidentiality, Integrity, Availability). Officially issued electronic certificates by the State Cyber Sandi Agency ensure secure, reliable digital documents, signatures, seals, timestamps, and delivery records, addressing Indonesiaโ€™s current lag in global digital transformation.

Six Sigma application in a process industry for capacity waste reduction: A case study Pages 423-430 PDF Download PDF

Authors: Pardeep Kumar, P.C. Tewari, Dinesh Khanduja

doi 10.5267/j.msl.2017.6.004

๐Ÿ”‘ Keywords: Six Sigma, DMAIC approach, Availability, Capacity waste, Thermal power plant

Abstract:
Today energy is directly related with progress or growth of any country and every event requires a huge amount of energy. In todayโ€™s global competitiveness, demand for energy is very high and India is facing a problem of very poor energy supply. So, researchers and planners are worried about very poor productivity of thermal power plant and the most critical cause for this problem is high capacity waste at these plants. This paper focuses on causes of capacity waste and for this, DMAIC approach is adopted. The study also clears some myths of Six Sigma compatibility at process industries (thermal power plant) for performance improvement. After implementation of the first phase i.e. โ€œDefineโ€, the study confirms the competence of Six Sigma in defining the issue of capacity waste.

Reliability analysis of two dissimilar parallel unit repairable system with failure during preventive maintenance Pages 285-296 PDF Download PDF

Authors: Mohit Kumar Kakkar, Ashok K Chitkara, Jasdev Bhatti

doi 10.5267/j.msl.2016.2.001

๐Ÿ”‘ Keywords: Availability, Busy Period analysis, Mean Time to System Failure (MTSF), Profit function

Abstract:
The main purpose of this research work is to present a reliability analysis of a two dissimilar parallel unit framework under the presumption that a frameworkโ€™s unit may also fail during the preventive maintenance (PM). Only one repair man is available with the system. It has been assumed that he is well capable of doing every repair work including preventive maintenance. Here in this work we have assumed that failure and repair times of each unit are correlated. Utilizing regenerative point strategy different reliability attributes are obtained which are very much helpful to system/ framework designers and company managers. Graphical practices of mean time to system failure and profit/cost function have been studied.

Reliability analysis of two unit parallel repairable industrial system Pages 525-536 PDF Download PDF

Authors: Mohit Kumar Kakkar, Ashok K Chitkara, Jasdev Bhatti

doi 10.5267/j.dsl.2015.5.006

๐Ÿ”‘ Keywords: Availability, Busy Period, Mean Time to System Failure, Profit Analysis

Abstract:
The aim of this work is to present a reliability and profit analysis of a two-dissimilar parallel unit system under the assumption that operative unit cannot fail after post repair inspection and replacement and there is only one repair facility. Failure and repair times of each unit are assumed to be uncorrelated. Using regenerative point technique various reliability characteristics are obtained which are useful to system designers and industrial managers. Graphical behaviors of mean time to system failure (MTSF) and profit function have also been studied. In this paper, some important measures of reliability characteristics of a two non-identical unit standby system model with repair, inspection and post repair are obtained using regenerative point technique.

Identifying and prioritizing different factors influencing the success of advertisement during the economic depression Pages 753-758 PDF Download PDF

Authors: Aram Rashidi, Meisam Jafari Eskandari

doi 10.5267/j.msl.2014.2.012

๐Ÿ”‘ Keywords: Advertisement, availability, Customer behavior, Economic depression, Responsiveness

Abstract:
During the financial crisis of 2007, many businesses and banks faced unexpected circumstances and declared bankruptcy. Market mortgage crisis and the collapse of the economic system in United States created a substantial amount of damage in world economy. Within a few years, the economic downturn was transferred to developing countries such as Iran. The recession has created conditions for Iranian companies that have led them to focus more on the subject of advertising since this is the primary tool of communication and business customers business. Success and failure of many organizations and companies depend on their advertisement planning. In this study, the factors contributing to the success and effectiveness of advertising during the recession time are identified. This survey has been accomplished on investigating an Iranian dairy firm named โ€œKalleโ€. Using a questionnaire in Likert scale, the study determines the effects of various factors of advertisement on sales improvement in this firm using Pearson correlation ratio and rank them based on Freedman test. Cronbach alpha has been calculated as 0.93. According to the results, factors that contribute to the success of advertising during a recession include: Responsiveness to customersโ€™ needs, advertising tools, content factors, the amount of money spent and availability.

Authors: Jagtar Singh, Vikas Rastogi, Richa Sharma

doi 10.5267/j.uscm.2014.5.002

๐Ÿ”‘ Keywords: 5S, Availability, Efficiency, Housekeeping, Total Productive Maintenance, Total Quality Management

Abstract:
5S is a systematic technique used by organizations come from five Japanese words; Seiri (Sort), Seiton (Set in order), Seiso (Shine), Seiketsu(standardize) and Shitsuke (sustain). This system helps to organize a workplace for efficiency and decrease non value added activities and optimize quality and productivity through monitoring an organized environment. This paper aims to review previous studies about benefits of 5S Implementation and its efficiency in organizations. The results show that 5S is an effective tool for improvement of organizational performance, regardless of organization type, size, its production or its service. Consequently, 5S technique would strongly support the objectives of organization to achieve continuous improvement in performance and productivity.
