Mapping the intellectual structure of halal product purchase intention research: A bibliometric analysis (2022โ€“2026) Pages 1-14 PDF Download PDF

Authors: Aicha Keita, Nor Azilah Husin

doi 10.5267/j.ijdns.2026.35

๐Ÿ”‘ Keywords: Purchase intention, Halal products, Islamic marketing, Consumer behaviour, Bibliometric analysis, VOSviewer, Dimensions AI

Abstract:
This study employs a bibliometric approach to examine the development of research on halal product purchase intention from 2022 to 2026, analyzing 271 open-access journal articles retrieved from the Dimensions AI database and selected through PRISMAS-guided screening, with findings revealing that the field primarily centers on the Theory of Planned Behaviour, halal awareness, certification, religiosity, trust, perceived value, and consumer behavior; beyond mapping these thematic areas, the research identifies leading authors, institutions, countries, journals, keywords, and emerging trends, offering researchers a comprehensive overview of the intellectual structure and development of the field, while its originality lies in providing a systematic bibliometric evaluation that highlights both current hotspots and underexplored gaps, thereby serving as a valuable reference for future scholarly inquiry.

Factors influencing entrepreneurial intention among international students: A bibliometric analysis from 2021 to 2025 Pages 15-24 PDF Download PDF

Authors: Ousmane Fall, Nor Azilah Husin

doi 10.5267/j.ijdns.2026.34

๐Ÿ”‘ Keywords: Entrepreneurial Intention, Bibliometric Analysis, International Students, TPB, Malaysia

Abstract:
This study provides a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of 297 peer-reviewed articles From (2021โ€“2025) about international student entrepreneurial objectives, with a focus on global cohorts and the digital economy. The primary objective is to map the field's intellectual structure, current trends, and research gaps while assessing how student psychological factors fit into macroeconomic frameworks such as the 13th Malaysia Plan and Malaysia's National Entrepreneurship Policy 2030 (DKN 2030). Using the keywords "entrepreneurial intention" and "international studentsโ€, the methodology systematically retrieved data from the Dimensions AI database in accordance with PRISMA 2020 requirements. This process reduced an initial pool of 22,248 records to a refined dataset that was assessed using VOSviewer. According to this bibliometric analysis, Malaysia and Indonesia dominate the world in production. Thematic clustering indicates that while the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) remains the essential theoretical framework, new research is emphasizing institutional support, psychological resilience, and digital revolution. The findings align with DKN 2030, suggesting that institutional integration is necessary to transform academic presence into long-term entrepreneurial engagement.

Exploring the impact of digital marketing for micro-entrepreneurs: A bibliometric analysis 2024-2025 Pages 223-234 PDF Download PDF

Authors: Aminu Muhammad Mode, Nor Azilah Husin, Noorasyikin Mohd Noh

doi 10.5267/j.sci.2026.5.006

๐Ÿ”‘ Keywords: Bibliometric Analysis, Digital marketing, Micro-entrepreneurs, Small businesses, Social media marketing

Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to review global research trends in digital marketing as it refers to micro-entrepreneurs in a bibliometric methodology. An extensive search of open-access publications found in the Dimensions AI database during the period 20242025 with Leading authors, institutions, countries, and thematic clusters were visualized using VOSviewer performance, co-citation, and co-occurrence analysis. The results indicate that Asia, especially China, India, Malaysia, and Indonesia have emerged as a major source of this body of literature. The three key areas of research were identified as global digital strategies, new social media analytics, and influencer marketing to engage consumers. Despite these developments, gaps in the research on micro-entrepreneurs in developing nations and in qualitative research perspectives remain. Overall, The study draws different articles into rational subject groups and is accompanied by a conclusion that the body of existing research offers both theoretical integration and practical insight to entrepreneurs and policymakers willing to use digital marketing to promote their small businesses growth in the long term.

The role of eWOM and user-generated content in shaping consumer purchase intention: A bibliometric analysis from 2020 to 2024 Pages 95-104 PDF Download PDF

Authors: Aminu Isa Abubakar, Nor Azilah Husin, Noorasyikin Mohd Noh

doi 10.5267/j.sci.2026.3.003

๐Ÿ”‘ Keywords: eWOM, User-generated content, Purchase intention, Bibliometric analysis, Consumer behavior, Social commerce

Abstract:
Consumer decision-making has been transformed by digital platforms and social media. User-generated content (UGC) and electronic word of mouth (eWOM) have a leading role in influencing purchase intention. Despite the increased academic interest. Nevertheless, studies are still disjointed in terms of industries, regions and platforms. This paper is a systematic bibliometric review of eWOM and UGC, and purchase intention. Studies that are published within the last four years, 2020-2024. Based on the Dimensions AI database. 249 open-access articles were analysed using VOSviewer software in terms of performance, co-citation, and co-word analysis. The results indicate that publications have been on a consistent increase, which indicates more academic attention to the subject of digital consumer behaviour. The volume of publications is mostly at the forefront of Southeast Asian universities, in Indonesia. Whereas Western establishments like Swansea University generate fewer but well-cited works. Three themes were identified: eWOM as a marketing strategy, credibility and brand equity in purchase decisions, and platform-specific influences in social commerce. The research has identified credibility, content quality, and platform adaptation as some of the most important elements of consumer trust, which can be used by marketers, researchers, and policymakers.
